@@mweis2000 Ive noticed for me it helps alot when you press the gas. I dont even turn off my car I just leave it on and put $5 every couple minutes till its full so it doesnt run so rough
Do you guys know what the line or part is called, that runs next to the purge valve. The second one going to the right of it. It is the side with three connectors. The one in the middle. What is that one called. The plug part that connects the engine and cable together broke.
The suggestion for those two codes is to replace the solenoid, under car - between the rear wheels on my 2020 Ford Fusion SE. I had the same codes, replaced the solenoid, but the problem didn’t go away. The solenoid was “clicking” when I tested it off the car, so it was working. I thought maybe it was a bad seal on the solenoid, so I still replaced it. The problem was really with the purge valve that you show in the video. Same thing that you had with the suction. I also tested it by blowing in it like a whistle. There was air flow, which should not be there with a functioning purge valve - it should stay closed.
I have read that p0496 can be a leak at the capless gas inlet. Can that be? Will a gas cap cover help create more of a vacuum and help that on the capless system? Thanks.
@@lakesautomotivediagnostics6509 Thanks for getting back so fast. Can I ask maybe a bad question? Not usually an untrusting person but I have to be careful. I know the car needs seen and probably things replaced. We are 34k miles gently driven but a car that sat coming off the truck March 2020 to Dec 2020 when we bought it with only 15 miles on it. Rubber parts like tires and wipers were in bad shape and needed replaced. Husband legally blind. One car. I am brutally allergic to cleaners in loaners. Cannot drive them. Seeing many bad reviews lately that the best mechanics down here are being bidded for and are rare and not all are ok. Dealerships have bad reviews of botched repairs, keeping cars for months and even a year because allegedly parts don't come in. Whole family's work and lives depends on me and this car and until we went into the dealer for a tack in the tire, we had no problems at all. Last, Ford has been very clear they want my car to sell in used inventory. It's pretty rare with lots of bells and whistles etc. I don't want that so I have been trying to figure out an alternative way to the dealer to get this seen but don't want to void warranty. But every gas up is mass panic for me about if it starts. Remote start works well but at gas up it is a challenge. So we got this gas cover to see if it might help get us through the New Year to find someone to help but I am worried it makes it worse? Thinking if it is a leak at the neck of the gas inlet, the cover will create more of a vacuum to help this? This time period down here in FL is crazy and I am hoping to get across the finish line after the 1st to keep things going but not sure where to go after that. I have this awful feeling if I go to the dealer, I don't get my car back and they want to put me into a new car which I do not want. I love my car! Any thoughts or advice on that? Thanks so much for your time!
I have a 2018 fusion se with the code p0456 & every time after pumping gas, it refuses to turn on and it takes a while to do so. Yesterday my car started making a weird noise and when I came to a complete stop at a stop sign, my car started to jerk while holding the brake. I got home and got off to see where the noise was coming from and my gas cap was basically farting lol, could that code be the problem of it jerking & making that noise?
The fact that you are working in that cold shows that you are an awesome person.
😀
Thanks a bunch man! I'm a new tech so this was a great lesson in diagnosing a bad purge valve for this vehicle!
You are welcome. Thanks for watching like and subscribe. Good luck with your career.
my car is the same year , currently doing the same exact thing with the same codes. thank you
You’re welcome, like and subscribe. Hope you have a great day.
The intermittent no start is from filling your tank up. I have these codes rn. Getting a valve soon

Same here. Everytime I put fuel in the tank, it takes a few “cranks” to get it started.

Going through this now I can't locate the solenoid valve is it under the car between the tires???
It is covered by a square box@@anitabrown5950

It can be the cap less inlet you need a smoke machine to see a smoke comes out of it and if it does, it needs replaced

Sounds like you have too much pressure building up in the fuel system possibly a stopped up charcoal canister, or a bad canister vent valve
Yes, it sounds like it could all be tied together
I have code p0496 but can’t find any replacement parts at auto parts stores 😢
Time to go to the dealer😢🎉
Always look online cartparts etc its what ur dealer does
Were you able to find the part number? I’m having the same issue
So is this the solenoid that needs replacing? Cause I think I bought the ring part
Purge valve solenoid is the part that was wrong with this car very common failure, part, and easy to check
damnn this the one i needed to see how it’s replaced 🙃

I'm trying to located the f'ingggg egr valve on my 2016 fusion se, the code came up and I can't locate it at alllll
What size of engine and what code did you have?
Merry Christmas
EGR is l same as purge valve???
No
How much was this part…
I do not recall I would have to look the part up
I’m having the same issue and can’t seem to find the part online.
should be able to find it at your local parts store
Part number?
Sorry I do not have that handy. Thanks for watching.
I learned an easier way to check that message me if you get a second
