Making Contouring Stone Stacked Rings: A Silversmithing Tutorial

  • This tutorial shows how to make curvy custom stacker rings. This is an intermediate level project. For materials, I used 14 (1.6 mm) and 18 (1.02 mm) gauge sterling round wire, and 3/16 inch (4.76 mm) fine silver bezel strip in 28 gauge (.33 mm). As always, I use hard silver sheet solder and My-T-Flux.

      Having something that goes slowly is definitely helpful. The one I succeeded with I used my cordless drill.

      Hello Nardine! I usually buy stones in person at gem and jewelry shows. It also helps if you have a friend who does a lot of lapidary:). Recently, some very kind people have given me quite a few pretty stones which I really appreciate!
