midlnd tell's you 38 miles that is true but in order to do that a P L tone has to be entered into your radio ao you can talk to a radio tower with a repeater on it to get your 20 miles but you need a no test Licensee from the F C C to do that and your radio out of the box will only cover 12 blocks becouse of a 1/2 a watt transmitter
and read the book as these guy's do not read the book that show it but never set down and read it and if you don't use it a lot take out the battery's so thay do not carode the radio also charge battery's over night IT takes 12 hour's to charge fully.
