    So many countries have free healthcare, which I believe comes out of taxes. That for the most part the people are fine with paying because it benefits them too. And it works and there are first world countries like England, Germany, Sweden, Spain, France, Denmark, Ireland, Norway, etc. Where people aren't bankrupt or die because they do something human like get sick or injured. Where they are in disbelief that in the US healthcare costs so much and that Americans will put off seeing the doctor as long as they can, even when it's serious and life threatening.

      They've been distracting us with attempted coups, the murdering of black people by the cops, and whether or not drinking bleach will stop covid! They've swung back around to the health insurance issue a bit now because of Covid-19. Basically, how it works here is that you have to be at or below the poverty level and then you can have free health insurance off the state and federal government. I personally would willingly pay more in taxes if it covered all my medical needs. A little over 20 years ago, I cut my little finger on a glass that broke in the dishwater. I felt dizzy and had to take a 30 minute ambulance ride to the nearest hospital because I lived alone. The ambulance cost $400 and the stitches for my finger cost $1000...for medical treatment that took 15 to fix my finger! And that was in the late 90s! People sometimes lose their houses over medical bills here. It's crazy!

    The NHS isn't free, it's paid for in taxes and national insurance contributions. As poverty and unemployment skyrockets, less and less money goes into the NHS. Our wonderful NHS staff are being paid peanuts and the whole system is crumbling. Why is our government not sorting it out? Because they want the NHS to crumble, so that they can bring in private healthcare, and so they will benefit from the financial kickbacks.
    Love Gina Yashere!!

    • @barrysteven5964
      @barrysteven5964 Рік тому +3

      Just to fact check that the amount of tax and NI we pay towards the NHS is about half of what the average American has to pay on insurance premiums and they still have to pay bills because insurance never covers 100%. Poverty is a real problem but employment is at a long time low in fact we are short of workers. You explain perfectly why the NHS is crumbling. The Conservatives who have been in power for over a decade fundamentally don't like the idea of it. Their party opposed the set up of the NHS back in 1949. The only reason they never openly admit this is because they know that would be electoral suicide.

    • @vie1445
      @vie1445 Рік тому +1

      And it's a deliberate plan by the Conservatives to force the public eventually into buying into the private health care system like the US. It's interesting how Boris talked about coming out of Brexit to put more money in the NHS. The current nursing strikes exposes these lies. What country would choose to follow the US system when they were the originators of a national health system copied in different ways by other countries. Self sabotage but for whose benefit?

    FYI, attention to the far-right trolls. it's called free, because it is free AT THE POINT OF DELIVERY. That's the longer term just shortened for "free". Obviously it's funded by taxpayers. Just like how NASA is taxpayer funded, or the entire US military, all 760 Billion dollars of it, coming from taxpayers. It's free at the point of delivery because patients don't need to pay up front when they get seen by the doctor.

    That's not true. Not everyone gets NHS care free. That misconception has caused a lot of healthcare tourism and then when people find out they have to pay they run off and the NHS looses money. You have to have permanent residence/been in the UK for more than 6 months/be signed up to a GP or have been born in the UK to get it "free". Also private care does exist here too but we will only use it as a last resort for example if waiting times are too long.

And if you’re European you can use your EHIC card here and outside most should travel with travel insurance. But for the most part it’s free at point of use for our citizens which is Miles better than the US. And private healthcare doesn’t normally cover any emergencies so you’ll be shipped off to an NHS hospital if a routine procedure goes wrong
