I enjoy the simplicity of your Keyboard chord progression with no complication, couple with the experimental padding/ideas around it. My takeawy from this vid is the knowledge of not having to be perfect in laying each instrument, just like you have said, tidying-up, can be done later. Thanks you for taking me behind the construction of this pop music. Looking forward to seeing more. Keep it up!!
So, so very helpful. Thank you so very much. I am beginning to write more songs, and you breaking down your exact process is beyond helpful. Thanks again, and God bless.
such a great video! Very easy to understand and motivating, these tips are great for a newbie like me lol, I get caught up with trying to get perfect vocals but not anymore!
Your tutorials always uncover something useful. Of all the videos I've watched on UA-cam, yours give me the best tips and tricks. Superb work again, Dean.
Thank you for the tutorial ! When I’m using agile synth bass , there’s just one sound” bum” without that “bum bum bum bum” effect. Do you know what’s wrong with that ? Thank you !
Great encouragement!! Still working on writing and completing a song now. Refreshing various functions of Garage Band also slows down the process for me.
like your niche in this topic. Nobody has dealt with arrangements on songs. Maybe they are keeping their secrets to themselves. Even if I only learn one thing it is useful. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing! This is amazing I love how you broke it down step by step! This is exactly what I have been looking for! You are awesome! Do you have a MasterClass? I would totally join to learn more from you! Thanks again for sharing this step by step tutorial!

When using automated drums in Logic I'll go with 0 swing, and use the automated drums for mostly fills only. Then adjust the swing to fit with the normal drums/loop groove after converting it to midi.
Do you record your vocals in a pre-set filter? I have tried Tracking Vocal and Natural Voice but am not loving the results and feel a bit lost with recording. Where do you start in just getting a clean vocal going?
Hey Marcus! Great question... No, I actually start with a dry track (no effects) and then add a little bit of reverb, delay, and pitch correction then later do some EQ and compression. I show my basic "quick mix" process in the video above for when I'm writing/creating ideas but if you want to get my full vocal mixing process you can check out this video ua-cam.com/video/e4C5DxOepsM/v-deo.html hope that helps Marcus! -Dean
Hey Manas Mallik! A couple of pads that I like in the iPhone version that are similar to the Airways pad in this video would be... epic cloud formation (alchemy pad) and deep harmonic waves (alchemy voice)... but honestly, there are TONS of great pad sounds under pads, soundscapes, and voice so just do some searching around find something that grooves with your song! -Dean

The Songwriting Studio Welcome! Please put some content on orchestration if possible 😇
@@diondias47 That's an idea :). You mean like how to use orchestral strings and whatnot?
The Songwriting Studio yes. Like a basic film score in GarageBand

Where is the full song ?
My agile synth bass won’t go on down its velocity. I turned it down to 15 but it’s still so buzzy. Why is that happening ??
Hey Alexis! I sometimes turn it down to 1 or 3 to get that soft thump :) -Dean
Can you export a song from Garage Band into Cubase?
Hey there! No I don't believe you can. You can however export each track and then import them into Cubase. -Dean
