I am not afraid to say that Sheva is the most complete and developed overall striker in the history of the game. He had literally everything - both feet, header, speed, dribling, technique, ball possession ability, strength, stamina, highest IQ, great team player. They do not produce such a combo players nowadays.

Surely, for all strikers better have strong teammates including playmeker, but Sheva was not dependable forward at all, just have a look how many solo goals and great plays he produced. Ex, Lewandowski. Great striker, sense of goal is incredible, so many goals scored. But he's the definition of dependable striker. Hardly remember any goals from him scored by individual effort when he picked up the ball somewhere in the middle of the pitch. That's the difference.

Sheva had a secret weapon..he was literally tiredless..his strenght,stamina and physical condition was unparallel...maybe only Ruud Gullit had better..when Sheva arrived in Milan and he passed the medical tests the doctors were in awe...he could play three 90min games in a row without getting fatigued..thats why he kept his composure at the highest level always..

Таких как Андрей никогда раньше не было и не будет! А он всегда был такой. Ещё когда он был мальчишкой, в детстве, его команда, где он был нападающим, выиграла международный турнир. Поледная игра была в Милане. Он тогда забил больше всех мячей. Получил бутсы от легендарного британского футболиста.
Надо выпустить DVD с играми, юности Андрея Шевченко. Найдутся любители-коллекционеры. Я бы первый купил эти DVD. Так же не могу понять, почему не выпустили DVD Милан - Лацио, 3-0 когда Андрей забил 3 мяча.

I grew up watching him play in the 90's with my dad and uncle. His days in Milan were also superior. There will never be a player like him ever again. If he was still around I don't have a single doubt Ukraine would be playing in the world cup this year although circumstances with Russia I'm not sure if that would even happen but regardless he will always and forever be my all time favorite footballer of all time.

Gascoyne è stato una mezzala molto abile tecnicamente, in giovane età dribblava ,calciava con entrambi i piedi, colpiva di testa ed in acrobazia con una disinvoltura e precisione degna di un calciatore molto navigato .Possedeva un fisico potente e veloce da rugbusta, solista ma non egoista capace di rientrare ed aiutare la squadra in caso di difficoltà. Il suo è stato un calcio creativo e spumeggiante da ; "carioca europeo " non si esimeva nei contrasti senza essere cattivo degno dello stile anglosassone , sopra le riga per i suoi atteggiamenti "spensierati "da simpatica canaglia in campo e fuori ,che se da un lato lo rendevano simpatico per la sua capacità di stemperare le tensioni dall'altro cadeva in sterili esagerazioni.Dotato di un enorme talento ma purtoppo discontinuo nel rendimento ! In a period of time ( late 90s and early 2000s) where every big club in Europe or domestically in Italy had at least one really really good striker he was the one in that period of time to win the balon d’or has a True striker ( of course el fenomeno won two as well ) . Let’s just think about some names : Sheva Ronaldo Batistuta Inzaghi Vieri Raul Bergkamp Ruud Van Nisterloy Trezeguet Henry Etoo Drogba Crespo Laarson Ibrahimović Shearer Cantona Kluivert Suker Andy Cole Torres Rooney Forlan Tevez Klose David Villa and many others ( I would also have to mention the likes of Totti and Del Piero who scored many goals but they both belong to another category for their personal talent , like Zidane Ronaldinho kaka’ etc) . Plus he also led his national team to a great result in WC in 2006 ( best ever for the Ukraine ) ,which with all due to respect Ukraine is not a team force like France Spain Italy Germany Brazil Argentina etcc . Sheva was a machine , hard to find any weakness , could score from any angle . Unfortunately he always trained so so hard and pushed himself to his limits that after age of thirty is body couldnt keep going like before ( plus also some key injuries ).
PS yeah Owen won one too but for me that was just one great year he had , and for that I can’t put him on that list cause he was never consistent after his move to Madrid

If I was a coach and had to choose between him and Cristiano (todays "seven" for excellence), I'd pick the ukranian because Cristiano can't score many of these goals, typical Sheva ones. Sheva can score in much more various ways. His finishing was clinical with both feet and outside the box too. Amount of trophies, stats and individual accomplishments are all in secondary plane to me. We live in a way easier era, fundamentals among ordinary players are generally worse (especially defenders, nowadays systems like tiki-taka, gegenpressing or more recent Sarriball made invidual skills in defending less relevant, coaches primarly train them to build and keep possession), average level dropped, only 4-5 teams can win UCL and gap between them and even an immediate second tier club is immense, both in financial and sport terms. Peak Sheva is second only to peak Ronaldo Nazario to my eyes when it comes to build a team around an offensive player (among the ones I had the privilege to see). Then, slight down, peak Batistuta, peak Henry, peak Raul and CR7 are in the second row and same spot to me. Slight down again Luis Suarez and Ruud Van Nistelrooy. But the Brazilian Phenomenon and the Phenomenon of Black Sea (as some milanisti journalists used to call Andriy riding a sort of fascinating dualism between these two, a dualism never really happened due to R9 injuries) at their best were much more dangerous threats to opponents than anybody else. Way too unpredictable, ahead of their time, both playing as hybrid between a 7, 9, 10, 11 without giving reference points and starting every time from different positions on the pitch to be as effective as your ideal poacher and as your ideal winger (more Sheva between these two), trequartista (more Ronaldo) and assist-man if required by system. R9 was more aesthetical, interpretation-free and skilled, pure art in motion, Sheva had more stamina, strenght during a game, a simpler dribbling and had a far better header. As a rossoneri fan, I rate Shevchenko the best player we ever had in modern times (21th century).
Leonardo Fabbri CR7 would earn your club more supporters tho as he is more of a celebrity.

Чому бюрократ, який очолює федерацію футбола України не запросив Андрія продовджувати? 1. бюрократ очікував на відкат? а йому не дали? або ще гірше? 2 цей бюрократ діє проти України? В обох випадках керівництво країни має втрутитись. Презідент має втрутитись і захистити Українську Легенду пана Андрія і нашу збірну а також звільнити функціонера який втратив довіру.
