But look at those goals , really there isn’t one ugly goal this guy was phenomenal truly legend . What he did with Ac Milan and Ukraine is remarkable and historic . If he would have played with Chelsea at age of 20 instead of 30 without any questions he would have dominated the premier league for many years
sheva did just fine at chelsea- people forget he played a completely different role than he had at milan- he was playing behind drogba- there's a reason drogba was as successful as he was during his years that he played w/ sheva- sheva was great OFF the ball too- a lot of casuals don't understand that.

He is one of my favourite strikers ever. He was lethal. As a Chelsea fan, I was nostalgic when he joined from Milan. The owner wanted him, the coach didn't. He is one of the reasons Mourinho had to be sacked, he didn't want to play him at all. He didn't like Crespo too, another of my favourites since his Lazio days. Those two are not defensive and cannot be relied as lone foci as Mourinho needed in the likes of Drogba.

In fact, I have never in my life seen any player who gets back in shape so fast after an injury. During the 2004-2005 season he was off for some 5 or 6 months, second game after he came back he was the same player. He made a decision for his family. Milan fans can say what they want about him or his wife, but I respect a man who puts his family first. Some things in life are bigger than football. But kissing that Chelsea jersey after his first goal, on his first game, that was just lack of class.

as a former Milan fan I've been disappointed when Sheva has left the great AC Milan team of those years (Kaka, Inzaghi, Pirlo, Maldini, Seedorf, Shevchenko, Rui Costa, Cafu, Nesta...) ... I have heard the news from one of my high school colleagues of that time and I thought he was playing tricks on me, but then I have asked other people and indeed he had moved to Chelsea, which has been a club that I have liked, as well, back them. But still, Sheva leaving my lovely AC Milan team for Chelsea.... maan, have I been disappointed at the very least! Also, I have watched the goal against Spurs live (I mean, live on TV), and it's been one of those moments when you're watching TV totally mentally disconnected from the game (you hear and see everything but you can't acknowledge anything consciously) and then... 1 or 2 seconds before scoring I have suddenly reconnected to the game that I was watching only to "feel" that this was going to be a great goal. I have "seen" that goal with my 6th sense (or whatever the hell it is called) right before Sheva receiving the pass and then, when he has prepared to shoot I honestly KNEW it was going to be a goal, and a beautiful one, too. I can't explain how, but I just knew. Anyway... what a team Chelsea have had back then! It's nuts. I mean, Shevchenko, Drogba, Lampard, Essien, Ballack, Robben.... just WOW! Yes he did struggle at chelsea to adapt to the English style. Still world class goalscorer though, his stats prove this. Mateja Kezman another whom struggled. Had excellent stats some seasons scored more than he played!. Then came to chelsea and struggled.

Milan have gotten rid of an old player, have cashed in good money, Sheva has gotten more money by moving to Chelsea, Chelsea have also gotten a striker with pedigree who has actually delivered, and Abramovic has fulfilled his kid's dream of having Shevchenko play for Chelsea. How has this been a "failed signing" again???
@@blabla-rg7ky Because Shevchenko absolutely didn't deliver?? He was incredibly expensive, and scored 4 league goals in his 30 appearances the first season, five goals in 17 games the next. By no means worth the money.
@@Norce555 bad entourage. For Milan - which he has felt like home in - he has been a scoring machine. In London it's hard to adapt if you are a humble, sentimental guy like Sheva, so I don't blame him. Besides, I am pretty happy with what he's accomplished for Chelsea considering that he's been brought to the club because Abarmovic's son has had a blinding passion for this amazing striker, not because Chelsea have really needed a striker of his caliber.

Jose Mourinho didn't want him at all at Chelsea. Abramovich forced Mourinho to play Shevchenko and it's actually the management that didn't handle him well at all at Chelsea as Mourinho was already fixated on playing Drogba as the leading striker in his stringent philosophical style of having a target man up top instead of an out and out which is Shevchenko.
