This place is nicer then some of the motels I've paid to sleep at.
Vea Star LOL!
Nice find. The fist t.v. my daddy bought when I was 18 years old was this type of t.v. Yeah back in the 70's not everybody have a t.v. or telephone.
Back in the 70's we had the disk phone like the t.v. Oh boy! I would like to go there and buy two t.v. because the new flat screen t.v. are crap.
It looks like they kept the rooms clean. Strange, but proof she does care about the place. As always, I LOVE the phone bit. Thank you.
+Suze Glesky Well, you know, if the owner of the property wants to *keep* it a motel for nostalgia reasons, keeping the rooms clean and the building in good shape is really important. If you let it get all filthy and vandalized, almost nobody is going to buy it unless they plan to tear it down and build something else in its place.
The better shape it's in, the less the buyer will have to spend on renovating. In this case, it looks like (at most) carpet, wallpaper, phone, TV, bed linens, light fixtures (some of the globes are cracked), and a lick of paint. Maybe not even *that* much, if you want to keep the retro look. That's plausibly less than a thousand dollars per room, as opposed to what it would cost to replace broken windows, broken toilets, broken air conditioners, etc. In fact, it looks like the outside needs more work than the inside, but that could just be the impression I get from the aging paint.
This would make a great film location for the period.
Heru- deshet. me too
Jack Collins Stranger Things is the 80's not 70's
Like an episode of ABC's The Goldbergs, where the family goes on vacation.
was it texas buyers club? the motel looks very similar
it has Twin peaks kind of vibes
Love vintage hotels!! So happy to see its not vandalized. Trying to imagine the conversations that went on in the rooms back then. Thanks for sharing!!
Lindsay Kowand ummm yeah the "conversations" 😒😂
Jason's Journeys bow chicka wow wow.
I can imagine other stuff going on in those rooms. I bet if you shined a black light around that room, it would look like a Jackson Pollock painting. Countless specklings released in there.
dunhill1 😂😂 too funny. And gross.
YEAH, ALL THE JIZZ!
There must not be any homeless or druggies in that town
Urban Deployment just what I thought. It's a shame people are sleeping in the streets and places like this are just left to rot.
He did mention that the owner lives on the property. Probably why it's in such good state.
EVEN IF THEY ARE LEFT TO ROT, IT DOESN'T BELONG TO HOMELESS PEOPLE TO JUST COME IN AND USE. FUCKING BUMS!
plicslac not all homeless people are bums!
I KNOW THEIR NOT. NEVER IMPILED THAT THEY WERE.
"I don't think anyone would want to sleep in this bed"
Tell that to the homeless guy during a winter storm....lol
1.- That´s correcto!! Maybe he has not suffered enough in this life, Or realized at least,
2.- OR maybe we are wrong and that guy ment , anyone = Customer (a very demanding one)
Answer 1.- That guy gotta live some more and let his conscience grow up, and think a little bit more before he speaks in front of a camera
Answer 2.- That guy only needs to improve and find the words to speak ( more precission) Because he didnt mean to hurt feelings
Answer 3.- He doesnt change, nobody tells him, then he becomes an idiot
You ordered the killing of your own brother, and your insatiable lust for power caused the death of your beloved daughter.....Fuck the Corleones!
and you... .. mm and you are a very bad person.... because......mmmm you sold a pasted dead bird with masking tape to a blind boy... this makes you a more evil person than i. But Remember............. "Little Carrey sleeps with the fishes"
Billy in 4-C got a few baseball cards, and a sack of marbles as well....
I know you guys were saying this was retro 70's motel, but from the looks of the colors of the bathroom, exterior, and hanging lamps, it appears to me that it was built sometime in the 50's, possibly very early 60's. Growing up I know pink and that shade of blue was really popular back in the 50's, with my grandma's and aunts and uncles' houses all decorated in these colors. Those chairs and carpet look to be a 60's/70's update, TV's are definitely 70's, very early 80's. LOVE LOVE. LOVE this place!!! What a great find you guys, keep up the good work!!!
My mother in laws house was built in the 80's ...and it had that tacky pink bathroom ... lol that was quickly changed
Carla Graham no look at the pastry patterns all over that's a late 60s thing
my buddy stayed here a week in 1977, said it's covered in sperm and pubes, he said there's so much pubes, he says that's why it isn't dusty....he did say he hoped everyone for their shots before breathing the air in those rooms
I wish bathrooms still looked like that so cute
Your right. I think the pink bathrooms, went out of style in the early 70's or so.
So I think the Motal was build in the late 50's, and opened early 60's.
It's sad that there's buildings like this empty when it could be used for our homeless vetrians, and other single people sleeping outside, it could be used for them 💖
Clearly the motel isn't operating anymore, but I don't really think it qualifies as "abandoned" per se; someone is obviously maintaining and cleaning the place, or there would be a lot more dust on everything.
If the rooms are shut, no dust can collect.
Anyone who is MY age(60s) will tell you, in its prime this motel rivaled Holiday Inn in number of rooms, size of the rooms, decor. Beautiful!!
Those rooms look cleaner than the ones Dan Bell finds.
Well, yeah, but Dan Bell specifically seeks out nasty, filthy hotel rooms. And most abandoned hotels aren't kept in this condition. I agree with "otterlover95"... this looks like a place that has had "one owner from new", who is determined to keep it in good condition as long as he or she can.
nidaauto I'm sure Dan Bell could examine theses rooms and find nasty things 😂
nidaauto i
Dan Bell also videoed abandoned hotels that are _actually_ abandoned, with floors and roofs that caved in and whatnot.
But Dan Bell specializes in dirty rooms. 😂 I have a hard time making it through some of those episodes lol.
For the most part this place seems stuck in time. To the camera it doesn't even look like there's dust on much of anything. Wow!
The phone gag never gets old. Love it! Also, liked the logo for the opening on the parking cone. Nice!
Thank you for respecting the owner's property. thank you for leaving this time capsule completely undisturbed and preserving its historic dignity.
My thoughts exactly!
Amazing, a 50 year step back in time, and the place seems like it only waiting for the guests to check it.
But I'm sure that someone is taking care of it, all looks so clean and fresh, thanks a lot for sharing.
Man, a phonebooth! Haven't seen one in a while, either. I remember about 8 years back, the town I lived in had the remains of them dotted around, but eventually ripped them out. They where't working for at least 15 years. Crazy how fast they got fazed out.
The floors are so clean. The electricity must be still on because everything has that "just vacuumed" look. There must be heat on too because there would be mold all over if there weren't any heat. I agree with other comments in that this place is better and cleaner than some currently open hotels I've stayed at. Thanks for posting this video!
Ken Layton I agree if there wasn't power on there the wallpapers would be pilling and everything in the room will have mildew on it
Ken Layton yep..
I noticed the windows were clean, too.
Come to think about it, you're right. The windows are clean.
I'm thinking this place hasn't been abandoned very long for it to look so well kept. That parking lot would be over grown with grass and weeds and the building would be falling apart to be abandoned since the 70s
I love the phone booth. That is a real blast from the past. I remember when they were a dime then they went up to a quarter for a call. I thought that was outrageous at the time...lol.
I would sleep in one of those rooms, they look a lot cleaner than a lot of fleabag hotels that are open today...
How is it so damn nice. I mean, yes, it's an old motel. But, it looks like like no damage or age rot really. Some of the rooms showed are nicer (although dated looking) than rooms we have today in lower cost motels and hotels!
7:00 ... Even the damn bathroom looks spotless! Like this really has been abandoned for a long time? Damn!
I agree. The climate must be perfect since there would be no heat/air conditioning to prevent the wall paper from coming loose, or the paint peeling. The roof must still be intact, no sign of water damage any where from a leaky roof. My ex's house doesn't look half this good and it's only been sitting vacant for a year.
Why is there a brand new toilet paper roll and bag in the garbage can?
But how long has it been abandoned? They might just not have changed the interiors and it’s only been abandoned for 4 years. I couldn’t imagine it being abandoned since the 70s and no graffiti, no walls torn up.
Earthling1984 right??
"Welcome to the Motel California! You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave!"
Someone must be taking care of that place and cleaning it..preserving it in it's own time. I love seeing things like this 😍
Very cool vintage hotel! Love how it was preserved!
the silence is deafening. definitely makes it more creepy. really like the natural sounds. gives a quiet sense of abondon. love your artistic views . thank you for taking us along. keep on with the beautiful work. 😚💋💋💋💋
I liked the vines and encroaching trees around the place.
I'd sleep like a baby there.
Wonder what part of the country this is in. I'd like to move there!
Samijane Kasper I love your take on it.
Samijane Kasper o
A HOMELESS PEOPLES' PARADISE....WHERE THEY CAN CHECK IN AND DON'T HAVE TO CHECK OUT!!!!!
What an awesome motel, and I can't believe it hasn't been vandalized. That's so awesome. I'd definitely stay there. I love the decor, including in the bathrooms. It's definitely like a motel museum.
I would honestly scrub and clean everything top to bottom, replace the mattresses and re-open it as a retro/vintage hotel. I love it.
At 1:13, the guy said “There’s an owner living on property.” Probably that’s why this place looks somewhat preserved and not too bad.
Really cool You two i’m 48 and stayed in hotels like this with my family when I was young thanks for the trip back in time
That place is in great shape for an old motel. Obviously, someone is still taking care of it. Some of the rooms and bathrooms looked real clean for a do drop in that hasn't been in service for a while. Excellent find.
Some of those TV's were definitely 80's model. Looks like they never renovated from the 70's though. Very rare to find something that old unmolested. Way to respect the place. Great vid.
"There's an owner living on property" that explains it. I was wondering why it hadn't been vandalized.
I would love to have the drapes in some of the rooms. Also, there are so many homeless people in this country. This could be an awesome place for some of the to live and get their lives back.
I recall it was all about detailed designs with craftsmanship in the 1970's. Gas shortage and waiting rigorous hours at the station was no fun I can see the fuming anger of my daddy sitting in his 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlas Supreme silver salon with blue landau top 350 V-8 engine. Thank you for sharing! My Best, M.L.
Thank you for respecting these old abandoned places and not breaking in to the locked rooms. The other abandoned places I've seen, people have broken in and disrespected the place with graffiti, tore it all up. You said it, it's like looking at a museum, so when it's nice and intact, and you leave it for others to enjoy and respect, that's really a cool thing to do.
You stumbled on a treasure here with this old 70s preserved hotel.
The one unit you showed with a pink bathroom screams 60's.
These were the old Mom & Pop Motels from the 50's, 60's and 70's. They were put out of business by the big Chain Motels like Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn up through the more expensive All Suite Motels. As the older Motels lost more & more business, a lot of Eastern Indians bought them and tried to fix them up. They used a lot Bargain Basement and discount Furniture finds. Hence all the miss matched fabrics and furniture. The bulk discount paint colors were ridiculous, as you can see for yourself. This type of decor did not appeal at all to the American Public and business further declined. Eventually, they locked the doors and closed up. Surprisingly, this place has not been vandalized. Please keep this location a secret. It is a real time warp. A step back in time. Sad to see it go by the wayside.
Just an idea, why not fix it, to become a homeless shelter?
@@fristnamelastname5549 Lol they would destroy it.
My guess is that this was once a 1950's or early 60's motel (the outdoor light fixtures, the turquoise exterior color, the pink tiled baths), and then re-decorated in horrifying 1970's bed spreads, etc. I always love the phones off the hook in these!!!
I love all your videos! Of all the Urbex folks i follow, u guys are my favorites! Keep up the great work, and be safe! 😊
This is the best video that you have made that I have seen so far. Next time you go back, see if the power or water is on. Ha ha. What a beautiful place. A perfect example of why we all should respect and not vandalize property. Great video. Great find. Thanks for posting and sharing.
David Danser exactly
AMAZING. OMG‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ Love it
Man I would love to stay there. View of the mountains the birds . Today's rooms your cramed on top of each other! Thanks y'all.. Love your videos!
Those who can remember, if a phone was left off the hook for a long time, it would let a loud beeping sound to warn you it wasn't set in the cradle right.
Really nice find though. Sheets look like they were just put on. Nice and clean room. Even garbage liners in can. Awesome.
It is so awesome when you find gems from the past untouched. I really enjoyed watching your video. Keep them coming.
Really, who cares about what a place looks like as long as it's clean and it has friendly stuff.
I would personally stay in this place.
great to see how great a shape the place is still in, the furniture and light fixtures are screaming early 1970's, if not late 60's even,,,,, love it,, keep em coming guys
This place is so clean for it being abandoned. Rooms look neat and clean. Except for a few, the grounds are kept by someone.
An abandoned motel with sheets and pillowcases still on the bed? Weird
I love all your videos RnK all day! I just want to thank u guys for putting your content on youtube, it's so awseome!
I grew up in the 70s and this brings back memories! What a cool find! Thanks for sharing the video I loved it!
Can’t believe how pristine the room is! Barely a speck of dust
I remember staying in places like this when I was a teenager when my family went on vacation. That was right before the US started going bad. Wish I could go back in time. These would make great efficiency apartments.
They should reopen it.
Maybe an interstate has pulled traffic away from there.
That happened all along Route 66. Lots of old motels died along there.
Maybe more advertising would help
But they would remove all the vintage stuff...
KutWrite Just like in the movie “Cars.”
Wow! This is going on my Urbex Favorites playlist. This is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. No vandalism. The property seems to be kept up. Someone could do a movie there, and have authentic 70’s decor. Sure, it sucked that you couldn’t get in more rooms. Still an amazing find RnK! I know this is an older video, but have you considered a revisit? Excellent video!
I absolutely would stay there! I like the beautiful retro furnishings, very classy & rare.
YES! Use to when traveling like to say at places like this, back in the day. Your right at your door bring your own bags in and no tip! Just a Peaceful country place to sleep at night!
yeah very nice looking place
Lisa Carlson read this comment at 7:03 😂😂😂
Summer C Whoa! Black screen @7:03 wtf?
Lisa Carlson Lol I suck at this time stamping thing i read your comment at 7:04 when the chair at a desk and a small trashcan parked in a teeny closet popped up hahaha
If you say there is someone living on property, these rooms are probably kept for that individual in case he'd like to have guests. That has been known to happen with abandoned "motels". These rooms are so clean, not even dust and the carpets are clean. Therefor, I think they are used for guest rooms of the person who is the "onsite manager"..
There is no way on God's green earth that those rooms could have been let spotless like that for so many years. These rooms are being used by someone, and someone is cleaning them. Even the property is maintained to some degree..but, the rooms are spotless. No mold, no dust, no trash, TV's plugged in, ash trays clean, towels on the racks.
I can say this because I work in hotels, and I also lived in an 'abandoned" motel when I was growing up. It had only 5 rooms, and was located in South Carolina long before I-95 came through. It was kind-of-sort-of restored, but, never did quite "make it"..all the same, I think this "motel" was and is being used for residential use.
When was 95 built? I lived in South Carolina in the 80's and I remember motels like this. Also, I-95 was there in the early 80's.
Someone should buy that photel and put it to work again. I love the place. Hugs from Brazil.
This place is remarkably well intact; definitely a blast from the past, but in great condition yet. Thanks for the upload;appreciate it!
the motel is beautiful and the bedspreads ect are so elegant and I love the 70s. I do not understand why this motel is closed.
Damn for being untouched at all this is the winner. hard to find nothing broken in an abandoned place. That is awesome that no assholes fucked it up. It is very rare to see something like thins thank you.
those rooms look very clean- like they were just cleaned by the maids! nice to see them intact and no vandalisim. how long has this been abandoned? love the pink tile in the bathrooms!
That is one of the best preserved hotels I've seen on an urbex channel. Most of the time, the interior of a hotel gets vandalized or destroyed by mold and water damage within a few years (from what I've seen). This place looks like the owner could open for business tomorrow. Not even dust or dirt around or anything.
I don't know where you guys are from but if you want to see actual vintage motels still in operation I know of 2 places where there are some. One is Wildwood, NJ and the other is Old Orchard, ME. I went to Wildwood around 1970 and came back around 2000 and had the chance to film in our old room (housekeeping left some doors open) and I swear, everything was the same. Not a thing had changed. A lot of coastal areas in the Eastern part of the US are full of these old motels that are still in operation. There is also Lake George, NY (upstate New York in the Adirondacks), lots there too.
What a cool place! Glad it isn’t vandalized.
Love the vintage look! This took me waaayyyy back in the memory banks! Thanks for a great video. I'm a new subscriber. :-)
Loooove the Retro Club Chairs!!! The Mid Century Modern Headboards are Faaaabulous!!!! :) That Phone Booth...what a Treasure!!!! Thank you for sharing!
*Should rent those rooms to low income/needy people.*
The interior designer did not care about any matching color scheme but somehow it fits
It would be great if you gave some geographical reference or some facts as to when and why these places are a abandoned
Always look forward to your videos! Totally amazing retro motel. Thank you for another great video!
Having said that ... looks pretty clean! Mystery owner keeping it looking good?!
Beautiful find! Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work!
This is the best abandoned hotel video I've seen.. AMAZING how everything is still so pristine and NOT vandalized.. I wonder how long it was vacant . Do you relock the unlocked doors (if possible) after you leave ?
Great video! You all do an amazing job filming these cool places and I like exploring with you all! This place is amazing so glad it hasn't been vandalized and all the cool retro decor is intact.I like the 70s decor that I grew up with, seeing this brings back memories! You are right, someone does care about this place to keep it in this condition! Looks like all the place needs is paint here and there and a little dusting and maybe some new TV's.Where you able to contact the owner? I was thinking maybe they could have enabled you all to film in some of the locked rooms and the lobby. You all really find some interesting places keep up the good work!
I can't believe how "untouched" it is..... for so many years! How awesome that nobody broke all the windows, no graffiti etc.( ⭐️❤️⭐️
Great video...as usual! RnK All Day, you are awesome.
You should have checked the tags on the fire extinguisher. It would have given you a date the last time they were filled or checked.
Those vintage TV's are sweet. I remember my parents having them.
A very interesting place... but more than that, I really liked the shots, angles and transitions in your video... it wasn't a simple "found footage" documentary of your day, you really put some thought and style into it. That was enough to get me to subscribe! I look forward to seeing your other videos. Keep up the great work!
It's amazing how well preserved it is!!!! Great job!
Awesome find.....loved the stills too!! You found a gem!
So cool! Everything is so neat. How is it that there isn't dust everywhere? The drawers and desks are so shiny, and the floors are spotless. The pillowcases and beds also look very clean. This is amazing everything looks this good without being touched in over 40 years. Nice work you guys :)
Hey RnK, This was a pretty cool explore. It's beautifully maintained and in a beautiful area. I love how green & lush the surroundings are. And yes, the decor at this motel is very 1970s. I graduated high school in 1977.
awesome guys, wish I could still do things like this. so cool to see a little bit of history again.
migraine inducing clashing wallpaper and curtains
Wow that was a really cool motel find! It's nice to see it's untouched by vandals. Awesome video. Thanks RNK!
I wish they'd restore places like this. Low income housing or a homeless shelter or perhaps another motel. Anything is possible!
can almost see the station wagons in the parking lot. cool place
I used to ride facing backwards in the back seat of a station wagon. I remember staying at hotels like this as a kid on family vacations/trips. Sitting on the tailgate of the station wagon eating lunch at some roadside tables. Here I go again getting nostalgic....
Damn that is spectacular! Just need some archived '70s tv programming and a quarter of shrooms I'll spend all weekend in there.
Place is looked after and cared for, so clean and tidy for the age.
I was born in '70. I remember staying in places JUST like this as a kid on vacations. This is a time warp. Simply incredible. Great find. One of my favorites.✌️
I think I just went deaf @8:57 ... I was loving the quiet so I had it turned up, then CREEEEEK! 😂
that place is being maintained. there isnt any dust
Gary Pearson yea i thought that was super odd
I agree. There's no dust, no spider webs, and the windows are spotless.
Gary Pearson they said there's an owner living on the property.
They probably forgot to tell the cleaner that the hotel shut down 40 years ago
did you know.....pubes keep dust away, those pubes are from the 1970s, a thicker, warm blanket of pubes will keep dust off most everything.....considering the status of the rooms, gotta be filled with pubes......yuck
Gotta love the 70's
Beds made and left freak me out .. not so much here but in the old houses you have shown us..
to some its dolls .. to me it's beds ..
Thanks for another great vid!
✌🏼✌🏼
Super cool motel! Pristine condition. Enjoyed visiting it with y'all, thanks for the tour!!
Love it the deco is from the early 70s stayed in motels like that in the 70s
The phone tone in a lot of your vidoes is one of my favorite stunts!!!!
Clare Wilson Yup he loves phones
Kevin Davis it
New to this channel. I was wondering if the dial tones were real or just added in. Was reading the comments just for that reason. I figured he surely he added that.
Clare Wilson touch tone trademark, love it
Rick S: Yup, I still have my landline and copper wired phone. I also keep cash on hand in the event of a zombie apocalypse & debit cards will not work.
It's good that People Respect this place and not vandalize it. Looks like some of the beds were perfectly made. The furnishings and everything were it was left. You don't see that today mostly abandoned places in general are vandalized, destroyed and run down. What surprises me is that the building hasn't deteriorated by looking at the old TV's this place has to have been abandoned for a very long time i guess since it isn't vandalized it takes longer for it deteriorate.
I get it...something about visiting a place or era in time...it's like a quest to have the space and things speak to us and tell the stories. Thanks for sharing. Hope no one damages the place. It is cool.
I bet those sheets are still cleaner than most you get today.
I'm surprised they're still there. About 20 years ago I used to work at an older motel like that and some people would check out, taking everything but the bible. We would have to call the sheriff to come out whenever this happened.
thanks for sharing. amazing it's untouched.
This place must have been top-notch back in the day! Nice find..... Thanks.
I am impressed that someone seems to be keeping that place up fairly well. I LOVE those pleather like headboards too! I would like those now. Lol. Very cool find.
