Thank you for a great video. Clear and precise review. Ordered mine in December, expected delivery end of June. Black Sapphire M Sport Pro. So exited!☺
BMW electric is so rediculusly expensive in Australia the base model 40 shown here is $169,000 with no options, the M60 is $232,000 I can purchase 3 x Model 3 Long Range for that, the i7 M70 is $367,000 before options.for comparison my Model 3 RWD was just under $60,000.
But then you are stuck driving a Tesla. My i4 M50 is an absolute pleasure to drive, with HUD, laser lights, 360 Camera, volumous hatchback and the interior makes the Model 3 feel bargain basement. And hunting for Model 3/Y performance on the freeway is fun, where in the important 60-120mph range, they are easy prey.
I assume the Teslas sold in Australia were manufactured in China (lucky, as the ones built here in the US are regarded as the worst). While BMW i5s are made in Germany and have to be shipped to the other side of the globe in order to reach Australia.
Would be nice if in the noise comparisons and other you would also include Tesla model Y, as this very much is the key compatitior in almost any comparison (as shown by sales numbers). Quick search for model y measured noise levels/full review also did not yield a result... :)
BMW and technology are the best friends the technology on BMWs are world class I prefer BMWs over Mercedes Benz it's pricing is very good in comparison to Mercedes Benz in any class/range why Mercedes is more expensive then BMW is senseless to me no Mercedes is worth it's price tag by no means. I'll take the 1 series BMW over the S-class Mercedes Benz any given day.
If I had to chose a BMW, it would definitely be for the drive assistances which are finely tuned. They nailed it. Are the buttons (they look haptic) on the wheel better than the ones on the VW ID ? I so love the sound made by Hans Zimmer. I wish my car had those 😅
The drive assistance works like a charm! So fine tuned and stable. Regarding the buttons on the steering wheel, better than on the VW mostly due to the actual physical toggles in the middle. But the haptics have some travel like in the ID cars but hard to get used to..so not perfect. Agree, Zimmer and #BMW nailed it with the sounds! Never thought I would like artificial sounds but it really makes sense this way.
I still think the range and the charging speed is a bit disappointing. It is acceptable, but nothing more. That being said, I hope to get my i5 next week. I needed a new car urgently and due to fiscal rules it has to be electric. Why the i5? I like cars and I like driving. No SUV please. Not the biggest fan of the EQE. The BMW i4 was my initial choice, but due to the prices I got an i5 for quite a bit less than a well equipped i4 (on monthly basis for a long term renting).
Mine Will be delivered in 4 days. Can’t wait !
Nice! What config did you go for?

High price tags indeed 😬

@@ItsOnlyElectric excellent. Thank you for the links.
Great test..n.b. 4deg Celsius equals 39deg Fahrenheit, this was at around 8 minutes later on it was correct
Thanks for noticing..👍
Very nice and informative video..4 Celsius is not 25F ...🤔
A typo it's 39F.. 🙂
Please bear in mind that the chosen rims play a role in the achieved range
Smaller than the standard rims but probably less aerodynamic.
What color is this vehicle? Blue or Carbon Black?
Carbon Black metallic 👍

@zeedustrakok agree, it's acceptable. For being built on a hybrid platform it's good.
0-100 in 6 sec is sluggish for an expensive ev isnt it?
For an EV, yes. But this is the entry level. But never feels slow.
@@ItsOnlyElectric yeah 6 sec. isnt slow. and 66k for an entry level i5 isnt cheap
