Germans couldn't help themselves than making beautiful, well engineered weapons until the end of the war. Stg44 ammunition is great find although remains of Stalingrad hero are sad. He will at least get proper burial so thanks for your hard work comrades.

Once the bones were found it should have been given proper respect as a grave. A more careful excavation should have been conducted to protect the position of everything in it, and all should have been carefully recorded. After that, the remains should have been carefully recovered and sent to be properly processed. There's the possibility that it could have been identified and reunited with the family.

That's Awesome To find things like this and you can still read the painted on marking and the wood is not gone. I guess with the right PH levels of the dirt in some places and the lack of oxygen to cause corrosion to eat things away ya get lucky and find stuff like this fully intact almost 80-85 years later buried for decades in wet environments no less! Crazy how certain places are able to keep things that persevered even exposed to the elements. I've never found anything in the ground a 1/8th that age which isn't complete rot let alone even many basements where people store things are sometimes in much worse conditions than how you guys are able to pull these antiques from the ground almost like they were buried or underwater a couple weeks???? SMFH! Extremely Impressive findings!!! Wow!
