Hi Danny. They may well be simple dishes but sometimes simple is the best. The Turkey Bun looks delicious. I can just imagine riding in on a brisk day and grabbing some of that scrumptious food. Keep up the videos mate. Cheers from the Land of Beers (Down Under Oz). Take care.
Someone ought to write a book about Squires, it goes back decades. I think it's the pre-eminent bikers meet in the whole U.K. I used to go to the original one in the centre of Sherburn in the early 1970's. It was a tremendous business decision when they moved to this new place in the eighties (I think). LOADS of land and the building used to be a Pub originally, I still think they have a alcohol license, not that you'll see any of the bikers drinking alcohol. At the old place, if you arrived early, you were going home late because all following arrivals blocked you in and were backed up to the main road. The old Squires is now a private dwelling.
"Always get some idiots on the road" says the man who is driving 40 in a 60. And the bike didn't even have to slow down. He's complaining over nothing.
I have been going there since 1969, it was in the village center back then. So many people that it basically overran the village. The new cafe was a pub. The place is very inclusive and always has been, you can go in a tractor if you like.
OMG ! Now am a simple Canadian man who married into a British family(her parents and two oldest sisters) so don't know a ton about English cuisine. never in my days have I heard or seen Yorkshire pudding used as the bowl for beef stew
OK, Danny, Squires Cafe in the centre of Sherburn-in-Elmet was established in 1954, I used to fequent the place on my motorcycle fortyish years ago for a bacon butty and a pint pot of tea . The place was so popular with bikers that eventually it had three car parks around the cafe. The pub was purchased in 2002 and the original cafe was sold, that meant that the good residents of Sherburn could have some peace and quiet after decades of noisy, smelly motorcycles rumbling through their village. It's great to see that Squires is doing well, I keep meaning to take a trip over there from my home in Halifax, it's not too far after all. Thanks for reviewing Squires, I like the look of that turkey and gravy teacake, I'll have to sample one when I'm there in the springtime.
Loved the Vespa cos am a ex scooter boy big respect to all of the bikers, loved having riffs with them back in the day but we all grow up eventually and respect each other, looks absolutely fantastic food and excellent review as always, keep well and safe.
I'm a Welsh woman born and bred (Barry) living in Sturgis, South Dakota USA 20 plus years watching this during the biggest motorcyle rally in the world (which I happen to live right in the middle of). Quite surreal...Cheers!
Heard you mention it a few videos back and hope it's good! Made the near 2 hour journey up there a few years back for a Ford meet as there is usually one or two every year and I think they also hold Japanese car nights as well. Big biker presence even when those car shows are on and some pretty interesting roads to drive too
Oh Danny, Think I’d jump on my 1000cc Honda and ride down from Scotland to scoff a plate of that stew! Looked bloody lovely! What a cracking place! Great vid as usual.👍👏👏👏😊🏴🏴
If there's any type of food that I could live on for a whole week it would be yorkshire puddings I absolutely love yorkshire puddings. Whether the puddings are just with gravy or filled with roast beef or with sausages (aka toad in the hole) or even both with gravy then now we're talking. Another good video Danny 👍

Good, solid food for the that price. I was just about to write it had that home-cooked feel to it when Danny said it. Slightly surprised the bikers didn't recognise Danny more.

Looks like they cook that turkey and then keep it warm in the gravy, looked so good, will try that at Christmas to stop my turkey going like an Arabs flip flop! 😂
Easily looks like the best place you've reviewed Danny, proper wholesome food
It's sometimes not so easy to make a good beef pie but that one looks delicious !!

Most prob is a pearl onion (what they use for the picked ones just raw) tbh add them to any cassarole like that and there amazing :p
