Personally it drives me nuts that bolts tighten anti-clockwise.

actually its a lot faster to tighten the lock nuts in a cross pattern, watch Nascar pit crews
in real life they do it since it straightens the wheel. In a game it's not at all faster. But you're right, in real life they do

I mean that’s close 400 dollars a tire that leaves 1600 dollars and that’s for my car witch is a Nissan z350 2007 model so not to far off
I should probably add that I have people do it for me plus my car is annoying because the rims I have have like 5 layers of rim be fire getting to the bolts but still
I don't think it's that unrealistic.
I believe it cost me around close to that to replace 4 x tyres/wheels of 2008 Kia Sedona, + labor + vehicle tow + parts and they were probably the only mechanics in town

I work in a Walmart TLE and I'm about to download this. I don't know what's worse, that I have a job doing this or that I'm going to choose to spend some of my free time doing this as well.

Thanks for this and follow-up play-through videos. Comprehensible walk-through with an easy on the ear voice and good explanation of what's what, except you have a tendency to overlook timed jobs that are about to expire. The Wankel/rotary engined car keeps getting pushed back and disappears, but it gets a new entry after a while, to be forgotten about again. Cheers.

Tip to avoid the oil filling guessing game, the bottle tips itself backward when it's filled halfway between min and max.

I like the educational benefits of the game
It might seem odd having the engine stand without having the crane to lift engines in and out, but that's because you still have the option of going the long way round - taking the entire bumper and other front-end body parts off to expose the engine in the frame, attaching the stand to it, undoing the engine supports and wheeling it out of the front...

Sometimes IRL, some vehicle manufacturers have multi-directional nuts on wheels, mainly on buses...
On old vehicles, especially heavy trucks one side was right hand threads and the other side was left hand threads for the lug nuts and the axle attachment. It has been decades since I saw those, but the theory was the nuts and bolts were tightening themselves as the wheels rotated. Anyways, this is another game I am looking forward to watching you play this game, but I would not really want to play it myself. Looks like an interesting game for teaching kids basics of car maintenance and learn advanced theory at least. Oil filters are often taken apart to look for metal, it is correct. Jolly good show old chap.

Hey Squirrel dude just a heads up. Bolts on cars can be left and right hand thread. Japanese cars/trucks are prime for doing it left hand on one wheel and right hand on the other. Keep up the amazing work as usual though dude.
Thanks for the vid. I never played any of these games, but I saw that the Epic Games Store will give it away for free soon, so I checked out UA-cam and your video came up first. Nice beginner walkthrough video, and very well narrated and done.
Read the videos description and had to laugh for quite a while as I thought to myself you will repair cars, recover barn wrecks and attend auctions eventually when they eventually fix the game and all the bugs so you can actually play those elements.

14:18 The wheel bolts on old cars were actually threaded that way, so that they wouldn't come loose when you were driving.
If I remember rightly that is the same for trucks

Squirrel, I know it might sound a bit stupid but the grind is a lot better in this game then it was last game, Not only do you have barn finds but you also have a junkyard to help you get parts for cheaper, And at the same time as doing jobs you can just go get a barn find or go to the junkyard, Buy a project car and leave it until you have money, Fix it and sell it, Until you've leveled up enough and basically finished the game
Ideally the bolts are left hand or right hand thread based on the side of the vehicle they are on for optimal tightening at speed. Most regular cars do not have that because they aren't considered sport or racing application.
haha I got a geico commercial of a squirrel almost getting hit by a car and I legit thought it was part of your intro xD
just a tip: filling the oil isn't guessing. When the bottle lowers, you're fine (~50%, ~6 secs)
p.s.: if you found 2015 grindy, this is a nightmare. You have to be lvl 35 to be able to fully restore a car (body and paint), I've already played 20 hrs, and only reached 15 (twice, first time it's bugged)
I've been watching the British GT series all this year and was getting really perplexed as to where I'd heard their intro music from - turns out it's the same track you use haha

Hey Squirrel. I been playing this too. I strongly recommend making regular backups of the save folder. A lot of bad bugs so far but a patch has been coming out almost every day addressing issues. For example i bought a car from a Barn, found out i couldn't edit or focus on the engine, exited game and i couldn't load anymore. After a lot of playing around i found out i had to delete a few files in my saves and turn off steam cloud to get my game to load. I deleted the car and was out 10k but i am able to continue playing now.

+Squirrel the oil fill is not a guessing game, the moment the bottle lowers a little by itself while still pouring, there is enough fluid in the engine, just like in the previous game

My father used to own a Ford van the had left hand threads on one side for the wheel nuts. It is most likely a bug in the game but it has been used it practice to have different thread direction on each side.

The lug bolts may not be a bug. Rolls Royse were like that until the 80s or 90s, and back in 30s a lot of cars were like that. I don't know if any car is still like that today.
The lug nuts on the car turning in opposite directions from the other side might not be a bug it might be proper because one of my cars has it where one side of the car has an R and the nuts turn to the right to remove the other side of the car has an L and the nuts turn to the left to remove
This is common on trucks and larger vehicles. Maybe some cars too.

In all honesty, I found the shop in CMS2015's brighter atmosphere, and just general openness to be more of my liking.
I really enjoyed your video, I saw this game and couldn't believe someone would actually make a game like this. I'm super excited to play. My only question is, will I be able to find specific cars, like my dream car Mitsubishi Evo X ?

I understand that the lug nut drivers side is a glitch but some cars are like that like my dads '66 Dodge D200 the lug nuts on the driver's side are reverse threaded, don't know why Mopar decided to do that but that is how some Mopars (Dodges, Chryslers, Plymouths) are.
Nice video. I'm playing this first one while watching your video and I'm a little disappointed you can't put the wheel on unbalanced. It wouldn't let me. As someone who has worked in an auto shop, it happens.

I noticed while playing that the lug nuts spin the wrong direction as well. Now my guess is it is a glitch although some vehicles like some VW's actually have reverse thread lug nuts. Not sure if their reason for it but some companies do use reverse thread lug nuts. I'm sure hat was the point that Reddot and Playway was going for but I don't know.

Personally Id like there to be a torque wrench tool and every nut and bolt needs to be torqued to spec for each car. I hope that becomes a mod, lol

Some light trucks have left hand thread wheel nuts on the left hand side but I have never come across this on a car.
