hi squiral, i actually own an older model of this coach ex oxford tube coach. the reason you are understeering for is that you have your suspension locked in the raised position which is only used for off road use only such as going to glastonby, or places with large uneven access roads to an uneven car parks like at light water valley. the suspension height lock is also used for boarding and alighting ferries as they have such large over hangs compared to lorries. at highway speeds, the suspension should be lowered and firm as with the suspension being too high and soft will effect the handling and make the coach very unstable at high speeds. on my older model. you can raise the suspension where it is softer but it will automatically return to normal ride height at 48km/h and will not raise again until you press it. however if you double press it at a standstill. it will hold the height but should never exceed 30 mph. another reason you may feel as tho you are understeering at speed compared to euro truck, the front steer axle on the coaches are set behind the drivers cab, where as on lorries it is set slightly forward of the drivers cab. it is much more noticable at highway speeds than town speeds as i am a former driver for go north east driving the local services between sunderland and newcastle also driven the go north east coaches on the national express contracts between the north east and london and also a former driver for ramage haulage too. lower the suspension the better the ride and the handling. especially in neoplans or similar double deck coaches where there is only a split (half length) lower deck as most of the passengers be sat upon the top deck with the force of gravity pulling all that weight down so makes the coach top heavy.
when i have it up and running and restored, i invite you up to our yard or to one of our running days for a tour around this coach, also a leyland national mk2 volvo repowered with a 4 speed semi auto. i am part of the 500 group up here on teesside where we collect classic and vintage buses and occasionally operate running days for the public to enjoy on a donation basis due to licensing rules. we have one coming up this weekend running from middlesbrough to whitby for the goth weekend. we have a few running days coming up in the summer starting in july to tie in with the Tall ship races when they are in Sunderland (my home city) and again a week later we be operating a park and ride for the Sunderland International Airshow. if you are available around that time or for any future events, you are welcome to tag along. we have some other nationwide events coming up too
Squirrel, responding to your views on the fuel gauge accuracy... These types of coaches do have enormous fuel tanks! Sometimes in the region of between 600-800L. I did a three day battlefields tour through France and Belgium starting from my company depot near Portsmouth and back. Total mileage was in the region of 1700km and my coach only used half of its full tank
I've been a flixbus driver for about a year, and I must say these coaches are pretty acurate and detailed. My routes mostly were Amsterdam - Berlin via Groningen, Bremen and Hamburg, also Amsterdam - Paris via Bruxxelles. Nice job on making those vids keep it up!!
You can obviously see where they substituted models to match landmarks as accurately as they could, but it still looks amazing! Luzern is an absolutely beautiful (but expensive) city!
3:45 i´ve actually been sitting on that upper frontseats on a trip from Braunschweig to Berlin 2 years ago... it´s a nice view indeed :) "Auf geht´s" means "let´s go" in that sense
I would love this too and as there is already a outside camera view system it wouldn't take much (I'm no programmer though so it could be really difficult lol) to have a floating head height camera? I know thin has been suggested on Reddit and Steam and people shot it down saying it wasn't realistic?! And basically they didn't want it so it couldn't happen.... It would add a lot in my opinion especially when needing to see how much room you have to reverse into etc.
Monaco di Bavaria is the Italian name for Munich (or München to he locals), so that’s presumably what the oddly mixed German/Italian advert on the side of the bus is for
Only just discovered your videos and I just wanted to say there is something SO relaxing about putting on one of your videos when I get off work. Just plopping into bed with dinner, getting unwound from the day, watching you drive something and provide commentary. On another note I would LOVE to try one of these games but they don't seem to have a "beginner mode" to teach you how to use all the buttons and junk. I wish there was a bus one that taught you how to control and use all the buttons and doohickeys first.
Hi Paul, the fuelling of the buses here in Canada is done at the company garage. If it is what we call a line bus run, which is a bus that does intercity routes the driver does not fuel the bus it is done by the maintenance personnel at the company garage at either end of the route or on the return to his starting point depending on the mileage between the two points. The only time a driver fuels the bus on a trip is when the driver is doing a charter trip and will be away from his home terminal for several days. I have done both during my 47 yrs. of being a bus driver. The last 20 yrs. of my career was doing charters across Canada and the United Stares. Richard Littler
Brake Matic is the auto brake system. When cruise control is activated and you go downhill, the brake matic will maintain your speed. It also does other stuff i forgot lol
Myea. I believe it's like a typical MAN's retarder+ system I'm not a real life MAN driver or trucker/busser in general. I did find this little vid by MAN ua-cam.com/video/HVXiJMmFFBM/v-deo.html
Great! You're driving in the track for Eurobus who will start coach routes within Switzerland from June. For the moment private bus companies are not allowed to bring passengers from one Swiss city to another (except airports).
Like I said. If you ever get to Switzerland. Do a meet and greet. Every time you visit Switzerland in one of your games, you'll tell us how you want to visit it irl^^
Wow, they really took some creative liberty in designing the map... It's like they wanted to serve a cliché more than realism. There are not really any mountains between Bern and Luzern, especially going down the Autobahn and there sure as hell is no serpentine pass in between them either. They should maybe have considered adding a destination more to the south where the mountains really are. Those destinations, save for Luzern, are all in the flat region of Switzerland.
Despite these being older videos, the fact I currently have a PC that should easily run most of the sim games squirrel plays. They've become my, what do I want off steam, list lol.
I've been on a Flixbus irl and for the first time I got delayed about 4hrs due to a flat tyre in Peckham. We were meant to arrive at Brussel Noord (Brussels North) at 22:50 but due to the delay we arrived at 02:00AM (This is ECT not GMT, GMT is the same time but an hour back. The drivers were so cool and let us watch Star Wars EP4 I believe, despite the flat tyre, the ride was fun
The fanfare Is used to warn drivers that a bus is coming round a corner, (every corner) used in the alps, as there are a lot of curves in alp-roads. Its used in Switzerland a lot. I’ve been on one before that had to use it. (It gets annoying when you’re trying to sleep)
It's funny watching this video in the playlist, as a historical account, how your attitude changes from the previous video when you had the 2 CM's from TML and Aerosoft in your stream, to this one...
Dead Baron these coaches are spacious indeed. 'Normal' busses can carry even more people tho, the busses in the city where i study can carry 200 people at once. Its one of those bendy busses. They do make those with 2 bendy bits
When i was on a FlixBus from Oslo to Gothenburg the toilet didn't have toilet paper and it smelled bad. And the flush button and the help butten(that warns the driver) was right next to eachother
Im loving Tourist Bus simulator comes out Dec 6th...watched some videos on here ....its awesome its got so many things to do in game....driving buses, management, buying apartments and decorating them (house flipper style) drive cars....I am definitely going to buy it....have you seen it yet, no doubt you have....Im sure you will love it too :) I always enjoy watching your videos, tutorials etc....always very entertaining :) As always great video, keep up the great work :) have a great day and happy gaming :) magz :)
Hey squrrel can u please keep doing these fern bus videos because I have missed this series and I am very very great full that u brung fern bus back so thank you
National Express 'Rapide' coaches (a concept taken from Trathens of Plymouth) in the 1980s had galleys / Kitchenettes on them. Nothing new then. I travelled on them a lot visiting my Dad travelling from Devon to London several times a year. The videos hardly ever worked, mind you!
Finally! Squirrel make a fernbus videos again! Pls make more of this. Pls put fernbus back to this channel. And if u make another one, pls make a long journey and use the longest bus. Neoplan is not the big bus anymore. There is bigger i forgot the name of the bus
Good to see Fernbus back. Always liked it somehow, despite it being nowhere near finished when they released it. From what I can tell the framerates got better and the AI is A LOT better than it used to be. It has gone from ridiculous and almost game breaking to just very bad. I'm pretty sure there are also a lot more AI car and truck models + a lot more passenger models. Probably at least twice as much as there used to be, but still nowhere near enough. Twins everywhere... And the AI vehicle models are also not good enough imho. There was another map dlc (free), adding the baltic sea island of Usedom. Might be worth checking out in future videos (although it's pretty far away, right on the other side of the map on the German border with Poland).
Went on one of these in peru.... Was the single most fucking scary thing i have EVER done in my life. Imagine 4000m up and the driver cuts every single corner over double lines then flings the thing back out of the road of oncoming traffic.... This video bought back those memories and i wished the drivers drove like you hahahaha
Another bus driving game in development is "Bus World". Takes place in south China and Russia, but you are driving those tiny busses :D. Still not released, maybe going early access soon.
Hi Squirrel could you play MY Summer Car there has been a few updates that some of us could really enjoy it and keep up the goodvid and thank you for doing another Fernbus its been a while
Hi there! I just watched this episode again, and when Squirrel left Luzern, he wanted to press 'start ride' , but he pressed 'take a brake' . lol.😂😂 (somehow I couldn't set the time.....)
Road signals are all wrong in Switzerland, lol. There are no 90 Limit signs, and 70 limits are rare and never on highways, so should be 120, 100, 80 mainly.
Thanks again for featuring this, I hope TML do pull out all the stops for The Bus, as we've not seen any more screens. However hopefully they will allow modding for The Bus
This game looks genuinely good, but what I think is missing in the audio department is the slight squeaking and rattling sound as you travel along the road. it's only natural to have things rattling when driving cause it's a bus. There are a lot of parts that rub against each other, and I think thats is whats missing. The interior noise of the bus is just too quiet.
Hope you all enjoy this new Fernbus video. Part 2 will be out tomorrow!

Makes sense as to why that passenger made that smart arse comment asking if they were going off road
Squirrel, responding to your views on the fuel gauge accuracy...

You can obviously see where they substituted models to match landmarks as accurately as they could, but it still looks amazing! Luzern is an absolutely beautiful (but expensive) city!
Lucerne is a beautiful town. 100% worth a visit. Go up the mountain via the cable car for amazing walks and there are BBQ pits too.
I love it 34:51 when the passenger said is your navigation broken and he is still on the road!
3:45 i´ve actually been sitting on that upper frontseats on a trip from Braunschweig to Berlin 2 years ago... it´s a nice view indeed :)
"Auf geht´s" means "let´s go" in that sense
Those are the most realistic road sounds I have heard in a game! It even has the high pitch sound when you go over a bridge on a highway!
I would love to see the feature in ets2 where you can actually get out the cockpit and just walk around and look at the detail of your truck :/
yes! that would be such a great feature.....
It would add a lot in my opinion especially when needing to see how much room you have to reverse into etc.
and also lowering down the windows, sleeping in the back, temperature and also be a instructor :))
Perhaps there was to ever be an ETS 3, it would have to be done in UE4, as the Core Engine in ETS 2 isn't able to have a freeroam FPV.
Yeah would love that. Maybe ets3
The passangers are like my dad when i'm driving.
26:25
That’s a nice bit of water!
oblivious to the fact he’s causing a 10000 mile hold up
Monaco di Bavaria is the Italian name for Munich (or München to he locals), so that’s presumably what the oddly mixed German/Italian advert on the side of the bus is for

It's commonly called a retarder, IIRC.
Myea. I believe it's like a typical MAN's retarder+ system

I did find this little vid by MAN

CrazyCashGaming Retarder is quite a different system. Brake Matic uses another technology.

I hear you, but it's still good enough for me and 99.999% of humanity who has never seen it. You're ruining the vibe here.
I work as a flixbus dispacher, very nice to see this from you:)
the kinks in the road actully gives a realistic feeling to the game
Time for SCS to make a bus simulator.
Bus driver was a good sign but the terminals in ETS 2 can lay a nice framework
Passenger: "Did you just jump a red?"
Me: "No i jumped a brown"
Passenger: .....
"That's some nice water" *doesn't notice the massive tailbacks behind him*
Hi Squirrel u did super job with this bus simulator, love the bus,i enjoy
i love how you say "hey!"
Hi Squirrel. It's not a Bus it's a Coach. And Neoplan and Setra make the nicest ones
i love the fact that you were changing lane without indicating that dosent make me want to scream
29:57 Pretty cool, they modelled the railway and bus terminus brilliantly, just like it is in real life. Easily recognisable.
Despite these being older videos, the fact I currently have a PC that should easily run most of the sim games squirrel plays. They've become my, what do I want off steam, list lol.
Finally something to entertain me while I'm sick
I've been on a Flixbus irl and for the first time I got delayed about 4hrs due to a flat tyre in Peckham. I love how he talks about the amazing graphics, then we see a hovering flower pot 😂😂😂

It's truly amazing how simulators can get this real!
Wow. The rain detail on the ground and also the droplets on the side of the bus is really cool. ETS need shit like that.
It's funny watching this video in the playlist, as a historical account, how your attitude changes from the previous video when you had the 2 CM's from TML and Aerosoft in your stream, to this one...
another great vid squirrel, haven't played fernbus myself for awhile, hope you will play it more.
Love the rain textures.
One thing I learn driving ETS and ATS is that, unless you got a big monitor, it is hard to rely on street signs, especially speed limits.
Rocky Arbigaus not for me I have a shitty laptop with a 15.6 inch screen
Kinda funny going from there, the roads are still more realistic than the ones in ETS2. Also the rolling sound and things.
Flixbus should pay you :D you're making good advertisement for the company^^
ArmedMalox I know right
I reckon he should ask them if he can give away some copies of the game. Would be great 😁😁
Micah Tritscher omg xD
Wow European busses are huge... Greyhounds haven't changed in decades over here.
Dead Baron these coaches are spacious indeed. 'Normal' busses can carry even more people tho, the busses in the city where i study can carry 200 people at once. Its one of those bendy busses. They do make those with 2 bendy bits
Kijtjjmmmnkkll,not
Fernbus video? Are you feeling ok buddy? In all seriousness Paul, it's good to see you found the time to play this gem again.
thos busses do have massive fuel tanks. a city bus can run for 30+ hours. the intercity busses can also do about the same.
I Pray ETS And ATS Have THIS Graphics
When i was on a FlixBus from Oslo to Gothenburg the toilet didn't have toilet paper and it smelled bad. And the flush button and the help butten(that warns the driver) was right next to eachother
The fanfare is if someone is in the way the driver plays it as a warning! Trust me, happens a lot at my school!
Love this game play on this game.
Definitely do more.
new competitor the mossbus is on the horizon, slated for release some time before dinosaurs appear
Luzern in real life is absolutely amazing, would recommend it highly
Squirrel you make wonderful videos. I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep them coming.
Im loving Tourist Bus simulator comes out Dec 6th...watched some videos on here ....its awesome its got so many things to do in game....driving buses, management, buying apartments and decorating them (house flipper style) drive cars....I am definitely going to buy it....have you seen it yet, no doubt you have....Im sure you will love it too :)

have a great day and happy gaming :)

I got so excited when I saw this! Thank you!
I enjoyed being with your channel
Hey squrrel can u please keep doing these fern bus videos because I have missed this series and I am very very great full that u brung fern bus back so thank you
Awesome! Great video Hope i see. Some more of this game
Squirrel think about this,
SCS builds a coach sim
Eventually the coach sim and truck sim become one.
Finally! Squirrel make a fernbus videos again! Pls make more of this. Pls put fernbus back to this channel. And if u make another one, pls make a long journey and use the longest bus. Neoplan is not the big bus anymore. There is bigger i forgot the name of the bus

Just an FYI: in Switzerland you need to have your lights on at all times! :)
Love every videos .....please make more....hoping to reach 1 million plus subs....
it look so real life
Went on one of these in peru.... Was the single most fucking scary thing i have EVER done in my life. The story about the burger train had me crying with laughter lol
I watch your squirrel+ channel and watching the record from the live stream of this was fun ^^
Another bus driving game in development is "Bus World". Takes place in south China and Russia, but you are driving those tiny busses :D. Still not released, maybe going early access soon.
I'm impressed with the AI. so smooth
There's 3/4 of a cloverleaf on the A3 near New Malden.
You can open the windows on the Neoplan by using the F6 key and close them using the F5 key.
I don't have good pc to play these games, so thank you to let me enjoying watching you ;)
Squirrel !! You should definetly go to Luzern..I think that they have Europe's biggest transport museum !! And also Geneva is beautiful !
Could the turn issue be that your infront of the axel that’s doing the turning?
I just laughed at when he hit the horn button because when my mom turns on the cruise control in the Volvo it hits the horn!
15:43 The lanes merge on the left instead of the right, probably has to do with traffic problems
Even more new driving videos on the channel: Good news!
Hope u have some more bids with Fermbus Simulator!
Hi Squirrel could you play MY Summer Car there has been a few updates that some of us could really enjoy it and keep up the goodvid and thank you for doing another Fernbus its been a while
Yeah we do need some MSC
agreed on that one dude
No one cares for this game Squirrel. Avoid it
so if he kinda likes it, he can play it. its his channel and i kinda likes it its just relaxed talking gameplay. thats what i like about this channel
It's his channel he does what he wants sure he does some videos about stuff you like but that's because he chose it because he wanted to.
How dose a DLC work? Is it in-game built? Can i get the Skyliner from the game with no ad-ons, mods or whatever?
Very Good Video, Squirrel!
Hi there! I just watched this episode again, and when Squirrel left Luzern, he wanted to press 'start ride' , but he pressed 'take a brake' . lol.😂😂 (somehow I couldn't set the time.....)
If LOTUS simulator comes out, are we going to see a first look gameplay video or not?
Keep up the awesome work and the awesome videos
Good
Oh now I can, now I only need help with the controls and shoe where the bus is going AND show the way to the destination.
Road signals are all wrong in Switzerland, lol. There are no 90 Limit signs, and 70 limits are rare and never on highways, so should be 120, 100, 80 mainly.
Monaco is actually Munich (in Italian).
All of the passengers are Hyacinth Bucket...
I love your bus vids
Thanks again for featuring this, I hope TML do pull out all the stops for The Bus, as we've not seen any more screens. However hopefully they will allow modding for The Bus
I'm getting this game it looks good graphics
33:57 what happens if you check in the passengers with the wrong route?
They just won't get on (i think)
Yes thank for fern bus please do more squril
love the bus
This game looks genuinely good, but what I think is missing in the audio department is the slight squeaking and rattling sound as you travel along the road. it's only natural to have things rattling when driving cause it's a bus. There are a lot of parts that rub against each other, and I think thats is whats missing. The interior noise of the bus is just too quiet.
The cloverleaf junctions are common in the US.
I’m so jealous of your nice pc! My pc lags like crazy on Fernbus
