Put the 3/8 chain on the 550 and test again? I've always run a 3/8 chain on my stihl ms260 and it is rated for 325 by stihl. Cuuts fine but not as fast as my dads 036. 2 lb lighter powerhead will make a difference over time.
I like the results of the 562XP, but I think I'll get the 572XP to go with my 550XP. I think the 572XP with a 28" bar and my 550XP with the 20" bar will be the perfect landowner combo. However I do also want a little high output top handle for limbing trails and such.
I use 550xp’s for my everyday ground saws and I have a large tree service company here in Ocala Fl and 550xp’s are greattttt saws!!! Just bought several more and also bought several 562’s today
I didn't calculate that. But based on my usage of these saws, they have about the same run time per tank and I'm sure that the 562 has a larger tank so it's just engineered to the same standard.

I run 3/8 on my 50cc saws also 👍👍I find easier to have one size because I buy in 100ft rolls. Saws work great with 3/8 when kept sharp.
I thought the 555 and the 562 were the same saw except for the crank stuffers in the 562 ?

I’ve recently bought a 550xp massive upgrade compared to my 340 still doesn’t take away the urge to get a 592xp though ahah

You should try 560 xp versus the 562. That would be the same weight and engine.
Probably going to buy a 562 next week. BTW your 550 is missing a muffler bolt.
