Hey! First of all, I hope you're enjoying the video and that it brings you some value. I've gotten a few comments regarding age/feeling behind etc. I figured I'd leave a comment here saying that I've been doing this stuff since I was 13 and got my first laptop. That's 13 years (I'm 26) years of practice and working towards this. Just wanted to say that to re-affirm that there is no reason to feel behind. Getting good takes time, you can't rush that process. Everyone is on their own timeline!!!! Enjoy the journey because it's a long one.

Bro the way you edit your videos, the way you structure them and the way you present them is just top tier. The whole packaging as a whole is top notch, its crazy how youre not at half a mill or like a mill in terms of subscribers.
Thank you Mapal! I'd like to share a bit about my current experience. I'm a 29-year-old who has been working in the fashion retail industry, but I've always enjoyed observing beautiful things. Perhaps it's because I've been exposed to fashion and have developed certain aesthetic standards when it comes to trends and design. I believe I have a good understanding of what is "beautiful". In the past two years, I enrolled in a local design school. Although the direct help from the program wasn't that significant, I learned how to use various design software through many school projects, which sparked my interest in video editing and visual effects. During this time, I came across your videos. At first, I was attracted by the color tones and tutorial of your videos. But in this period, I've also been steadily updating my portfolio (since I just graduated). Quietly returning to the questions you raised, the timing of your video release seems to coincide with the problems I'm facing now. For someone of my age to find their passion and decide to further develop their skills, the pressure is immense, on top of the financial burden I have. Compared to many younger people, I have less room for error. However, from my 10 years of work experience, I've learned not to be too hasty and to enjoy the learning process. This will make the refinement process more comfortable and enjoyable for myself. I wholeheartedly agree that if there's anything unclear, one must boldly ask, as this can save a lot of time. Thank you for your videos, they have given me more confidence to do well. I appreciate your high-quality content, and I will continue to work hard together with everyone. Cheers!
That's awesome! I'd definitely agree that as we get older it becomes harder to throw yourself at new things. There is rent, groceries, perhaps even family that all need to be taken care of. However, that's not to say it's not possible. It might just take longer, as you've pointed out, and the approach will be different. I'm happy to hear that the videos have been helpful. That's the main thing I strive for.
That was super helpful. But I must say the editing work on this video is CRAZYY good. I'm gonna take some inspiration or probably gonna "steal" some of it. That was great and super engaging, especially with the scenes changing from Indoor to Outdoor. PERFECT!
Appreciate it! I felt like switching the scenery up for each segment would help with staying focused since it would feel more fresh. Glad it came across that way
You are amazing, really thank you for these videos, they are not only inspiring but also guide my professional journey. I am a big fan of your work, and I hope that one day I can help someone, just as you have helped me.
I've been following for a while and am a big fan of your tutorials and this background video you made! Where did you start with 3D? What was that journey like? What's your workflow between C4D and AE? Those are questions that are hard to find answers for on UA-cam.
Thank you, thank you! First time I tried 3D was probably when I was 13 or so when I got my first laptop. Would just watch 3D text tutorials on youtube. I don't remember much from C4D (I use blender now). I'm pretty sure I'd just export the animation as a png sequence then in Ae I'd add overlays, glows, etc.
Wow🎉 amazing I'm a video editor and I was a bit confused 😕 how to edit my client's video I mean what editing style should I use for his video but after watching your video I thought that I will use your editing style that's mean copy your editing 😁 Thanks bro your Amazing Man
It isn't easy but nothing worth it rarely is. The more you expose yourself to pretty things the more it'll start becoming a part of you. A lot of the time I think we underestimate ourselves as well. I thought I had good taste when I started and now I look back at what I thought was good then and I cringe. It's important to recognise that as well. Good taste is fluid.
Bro, can you help me learn how to make camera overlay where the red recording button keeps peeping and the count watch is going in the frame? I need to make it both in 9:16 and 6:19.
Hey Mapal! Great video as always. Can I ask how old you are? You seem pretty young, and I feel, like many others, this kind of 'impostor syndrome' as time goes by. So I think it would be really nice to know that. Your content is a great inspiration, dude. Keep it up!
does anyone know how to get the text behind you so clean like this at 2:06? like is it masking? duplicating yourself and the chair on top of the original video? i tried this before but seems quite sharp around me. not like urs smooth like god dam butter
Nice video bro. I have one question. I love editing, but because of how tedious and tiresome it is, it makes me kinda resent it. What's your tips on this?
Make sure you’re doing editing you love. As I touch upon in “client fit” it’s important to focus on work you actually enjoy. With that being said, sometimes even doing your favourite things can become tiresome. It’s okay to take a break. Do something else for a day or two to refresh your brain.
5:16 in the video. Gotta learn to get a feel for it. Observe what works well, experiment with it, learn to understand the dynamics. It takes time to get a feel for stuff like that but it comes with practice
Question: Are you using After Effects to rotoscope text in between you and your photography paper background? It looks great! Thanks for the awesome videos! 🙏
love your work. I´m 2 months into editing. I got one friend that have connections to MTV Germany. I will edit 3 podcast of them. Because of my low level knowledge and non existing portfolio, I will make it for free. My question is, if I make it really good, should i aim for other youtube channels that make podcasts? I will put in the projects to my portfolio and the other projects that i have done. Maybe in 2-3 months i will earn money 🙏🏻
That’s dope! If you enjoy editing podcasts then definitely! Try out a bunch of different things and see what you like working with and then start narrowing down.
