When I started trading, I once got a double spelled festive black box. It was unique, not strange. It was the most difficult thing I've ever had to get rid of. I eventually ended up trading it for an unusual taunt. That taunt was worth less than I had paid for it and I felt pretty defeated. However, I found out that its price was outdated on a different site and the site bought it for wayyy more than it was worth. I got super lucky and ended up back in net profit of about 2 keys at the end of it all.
Collector's items can be alright but you have to only dabble in the right ones. Popular primary weapons and such, can be reasonably liquid. The same applies for low crafts pretty much (although their trading visibility is lower). Craft numbered weapons are a step above craft numbered hats as they show up in killcams and such so others will know you are using a craft numbered weapon. Low tier hats with unremarkable craft numbers though are an absolute dead end as the market is flooded with them and no one wants them.
There is profit to be had from collectors. I’ve had some of my biggest profits from them. You just have to pick the right weapons. For example the collectors ambassador isn’t that much (60 keys ish), but there’s always a spy main out there wanting to make a frag video that’ll buy one off you for a profit
Yeah it was a very short-term move, I would like to see them add it back possibly with other items that don't already have collector's variants to not influence the economy too much.
This is an amazing channel and the editing, thumbnails and advice are incredible. It’s also VERY consistent uploads. I’m still newer at trading sort of, I’ve just been in low tier trading for a long time. Any tips on getting to mid tier or even high tier from here?
You sort of have two options: a) Invest your own money to get into those niches (I made a video on that) b) Continue low-tier trading, find your niche and also still incorporating this tactic after hitting those milestones Take advantage of Trade Bot Arbitrage, Add-ons and Skins at this price point!
It seems funky, but no I actually mean buying things below buy orders which is more possible than you think. It comes through your own buy orders, market arbitrage, and item offers (usually overpay)
Unusual weapons don't have the supply issue that taunts have and most are often above 20 keys in value. Their only issue is advertisement on backpack.tf but every other cash website negates this problem.

In short, if it is not something attractive or is very niche, do not invest there. Likewise I don't take trading seriously, but I use those parameters
For some reason Valve discontinued the collectors, they make no aesthetic or gameplay sense.

Extremely informative

But what if it's items you just want to have and keep, instead of items you want to re-sell for a profit?
For that better not even put them on offer xd
All my videos are from a trader's perspective but if you're willing to pay the price, that's up to you.
@@spbacon Right, sorry, I realized it was a dumb question after posting it but I figured it should stay up anyway x)

"well bellow the buy orders"
I hope you meant well bellow the SELL orders...

what about unusual weapons?

Good video, as always, keep up!
