Getting to know your materials: sometimes it's easy to overdo a blend by dropping in a tiny amount too much of a strong material. At other times you'll make something magnificent. Other materials act completely differently.

Don’t make it harder than it has to be is a great mantra. I thought I was making a terrific blend by putting lots of stuff in it, but as we know, I just made it kind of muddy and bland and not what I wanted. I will consolidate a little more time.

Very important discussion! Dosing the right amount is the key! As incense maker, it is very complex for me because some notes totally suppress in burning while some change their character.

The abruptness with which a formula can go hideously wrong is one off the more irritating parts of perfumery. It's like building a house of cards, and then one wrong move and it explodes and bursts into flame.

You are absolutely right. And at that point it's best to stop and start again, not to throw random things at it to see if it can be fixed.

I like Dylan Blue better without a sprayer. I prefer a spray instead of a roller.

These videos are great but sometimes you skim over the ingredients really quickly and it is hard to hear what you are speaking about. Can you repeat the names more or subtitle the name of the ingredient when you speak about it?

If you would tag the times where you can't hear clearly, then I will write it out for you. This is actually me going slowly. In earlier films I spoke faster.
