    In my opinion, Pinarello should have done this a long time ago, every other bike brand out there gives you same geometry bikes that are there top tier models and price into an entry to mid price point. I think this will be great for those new consumers to the market who are a fan of the dogma but odnt have dogma money

      I don't know about this man, just like Hermès bag will not be Hermès bag if they sell with price of Louis Vuitton bag. The price is the thing that keep this bike it's prestige status. Pinarello won't be the same Pinarello anymore when you can see it a lot on the street because it has cheaper option (still not cheap thought).

      I didn't have Pinarello money years ago so I bought a Chinese knockoff. That bike didn't stick with me, the more I looked at it the more ugly it got. So I sold it. I don't see the attraction anymore. They ride like most any other racing type of bike so it's just a gimmicky funny shaped bike. Not for everybody evidently.

    Rather typical of some of these Italian brands to hide the exorbitant costs of their bikes in order to remain "competitive": pair them with the cheapest wheels they can get away with and hope the consumer doesn't notice. 19lbs is ridiculous for a bike in this price range, but if you basically want to donate cash to Pinarello, be my guest. I roll my eyes at the owners of these bikes.

    @GCPerformance18, your first look of the F5 is spot on. Those Fulcrum wheels need to go. And you mentioned something about the new 2023 Cannondale Supersix Evo and I had to find out. The Evo 1 at that price point is tough to beat. For $6,500, it comes with the latest release "SRAM Force groupset, HollowGram 50 R-S wheels, and Vision Trimax Carbon Aero bars".

    • @GCPerformance18

      @@GCPerformance18 As you said, when looking at a Pinarello, it won't be a bargain because of the brand name/history. BUT for the F5 with the 105 Di2, they could have gone with a Shimano C46 Carbon wheelset that was launched with the new 105 Di2 groupset. As an OEM, they probably could have negotiated an even better wholesale prices. While it may eat very slightly at the margin, it's still better than the MOST Wheelset (Rebranded Metron?) they use as an additional $800 option. My opinion.
      The good thing is, the initial impressions from most publications (Cyclingnews, Cyclingtips, Roadbikeaction, etc..) is that the F Series rides well.

      My Prince FX in 56 with 50 mm carbon wheels, light tires, latex inner tubes weighs 8,5 kg (including Garmin pedals, bottle cages, computer mount). The weight of the frames has not changed significantly from Prince to F, the FX is about 50g less for the T900 carbon compared to the standard Prince.
      So I'm confident you can get the F5 in 53 down to

      Prince with last gen Ultegra Di2 cost around $5500. And if you compare the groupset, the last gen Ultegra Di2 and new 105 Di2 are pretty much the same price and performance. If you swap out the wheels it’ll be a decent bike!

    About time they did this. Huge fan of the brand since the 90's.
    Currently own a 2021 Prince TiCR and the first thing i did was dump the fulcrum wheels. Initially i put Tyro Darc 45mm on - then went to Ultegra 8170 C50 wheels with GP5000S tyres - totally transformed the bike!
    My dealer offered the Dogma carbon cockpit handlebar as an upgrade aswell but i just could not justify it cost wise, but i mention it if people were thinking the same thing about upgrades.
    As for those complaining about the weight. Your not buying Pinarello's race bike at this price your buying something that "looks like" the race bike but with cheaper options (including carbon). You need to compare it to the outgoing Paris / Gan / Prince range.

    • @SrFederico
      @SrFederico Рік тому +1

      Afaik they are going to supply the race teams (minus the grand tour teams) with F frames. So they seem to be confident that they are up to the competition.

    • @Greg.Sutton
      @Greg.Sutton Рік тому

      @@SrFederico - Yeah i saw some Pro Conti / Conti teams were getting the new F range. Doubt they will be factory spec though (might be wrong) but i bet they have the various upgrades. eg: Dura Ace, Better wheels & tyres, Carbon Cockpit etc, F7 T900 carbon version, Trimming the weight down to the near 6.8kg??

    • @SrFederico
      @SrFederico Рік тому

      @@Greg.Sutton Afaik not eben the race Dogmas are down to 6.8kg. The F12 weren't, there were complaints about it and they got the Dogma F down a bit. But Dogma was never about super lightweight, it was about a good mixture between aero and stiffness. And despite the slight overweight, they have won everything.
