Thanks Matty, nice to see the contrasting Heritage Locos and weather conditions. I have acquired plenty of (used) 'Heritage' Freight-stock for my HO Layout and I have a programme for Detailing and Repainting many of them, but the Conrail ones will definitely remain as is (along with some others) I also have a real good book by Brian Solomon, 'Railroad Family Trees'. I bought this mostly to learn about why Conrail was formed and became NS & CSX
This is so awesome seeing Conrail Again 🔵 I like Norfolk Southern version better because it's in full Conrail dress. CSX isn't bad with the Conrail Quality but i would like to see it in full dress with The CSX in gold numbers & letters much like what they did when Conrail was divided. Excellent video presentation of this. 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thanks a lot, and I'm with you on the CSX version. While I don't mind their style of heritage units, it would've been nice to see the full-dress whiteface Conrail Quality scheme again, as that was my favorite of the CR schemes when I was a kid!
I remember when big blue roamed the northeast, and for sure was king of the road. I grew so tired of seeing it's trains. They always seemed to have the same motive power every train. I was happy to see them go. What a fool was I. I'd give anything to have Conrail back. I grew up in Maine, we had the MEC and the BAR, then I moved to Ma. shortly after the Conrail formation, and saw power from many roads, and I loved it. Soon it all gave way to blue, but I had been spoiled by variety. First in Maine then in Ma. What a twit I was, I'd give anything to have Big Blue back. What did Joni Mitchell, "You don't know what you got until it's gone". Oh well, I was wrong.
I am entirely with you on this, back when I was a kid I found Conrail to be so boring that always I longed for any kind of foreign power (Burlington Northern quickly became my all time favorite). Now I'd give anything to be able to relive those days!

@@mattygunn693 Wow, believe it or not, BN cascade green was the paint scheme that I too, longed for.
@@kenwoodbury1888 It was a simple and basic scheme but it sure was beautiful!
I saw the NS Conrail loco come through Roanoke a few months ago, impossible to miss that blue!
That's awesome!
Everything we see today is history tomorrow! Nice compilation.
