The other 2 are genshin and wuwa. Genshin I still play because I’ve been playing since release and in 2-3 years, I only missed a week I think. I’ve also spent enough money in it to where I can’t drop it. I have been playing it less and less tho, cause after you play a game everyday for 4 years, you might start to feel a bit burnt out. Wuwa I started playing cause I liked two of the characters, one I got for free and the other isn’t even playable yet so I open it like once a week. And then the fifth is ZZZ which isn’t out yet and I’m just playing it cause I like two characters and after I get them, I’ll probably drop it too honestly. Thankfully, I have been able to have same control when it comes to not pulling just to pull. I actively plan out what I wanna pull on and what I think is actually worth spending on if I have too. Like in sekai, there’s banner that’s coming out at the end of June and then I’m not pulling for 6 months after that cause that’s when the next banner I want comes out
Besides the greed my main issue is, that this simply isn't the game that I played when it was in beta, that one was fast, satisfying movement and quick dashes, this, this is just plain slow and bad
The beta movement was too crazy, I think it feels really good now. It was unplayable and just a dash spam fest and guessing which direction your opponent would dash to next.
Just to add, it took my free to play smite friend, unlocked all 130 characters for free in roughly 1000 hrs. That equates to less than 10 hrs per character, which I think is infinitely better
I think another reason that multiversus fell off was because of the fact that WB hated modding. I remember back in the beta when everyone would make mods for that game, I made some mods for that game and even managed it at one point. It was a great time, until WB decided to DMCA the Gamebanana page. Because WB hates fun
WB only sees this game as a money farm. Why should they let people have fun and design their own characters when they aren't paying for said characters?

@@sethmichel6138 I was never talking about training mode, I was talking about local versus. Its seems kinda difficult to run a local tournament when for a single machine it takes around 30 hours per chardcter to unlock the entire roster.

I love a “beta” with a working store in it day one 😃. I also loved when 343 did it with halo infinite. It was so cool to have the store work better than the game. 😃
Lesson of the day: Never call a newly anounced platform fighter a "Smash Bros Killer" the final product might dissapoint. Except Rivals of Aether and Brawlhalla, But i don't recall HB or the FGC calling them like that.
15:40 this could be a common business practice. want someone to be okay with a bad change? introduce a worse change, then replace it with the bad change. they could've given more xp per win, like maybe 100 or even 200, but they already put the pivot point on 10 xp per win, so by comparison, 50 xp feels much better, despite still not being good enough.
Hey remember when people were complaining about microtransactions in full priced games? So then they introduced gambling mechanics that people hated with a burning passion, then were celebrated for not doing them anymore and just going back to the microtransactions?
Such a huge mood. Player First Games put in so much hard work to make interesting and fun looking adaptations of all the characters but WB is sucking it dry. Rifts - Beating them all five times minimum, having a partner required to get 20% more rewards, needing characters from the roster to even do some of them... it all sucks. I think the fights feel fine and the mini-games are cool, but the required grind bogs it down into a chore. PvP - The last time I played and when I decided to quit was when I was playing 2v2 with a friend. We were having a great time, but then we went up against a Jake that had the high level battle pass skin which was literally impossible to have ar that time. Weird. We get into the game and... it's bots. That instantly killed all our fun. The first five matches? Sure, I get that. But queueing for PvP into BOTS murdered any excitement me or my friend had. This isn't even counting all the currency or the watered down perks or how pricy the market is. I played the beta and had all the characters, but for my friend who was starting fresh, I could feel how daunting it was and how much they needed to invest to be able to have more options. WB spent the last two years twisting my poor baby into this vile, greedy, void of hot garbage. I love the devs of this game - Tony and his crew are awesome, but WB is taking the Sewerslide out of Suicide Squad and putting it into MVS. It sucks.
Yo holy shit, I was getting ANNOYED with that. I was like man why even advertise as a smash game or try to be like one without even an attempt at button mapping and shit like that existing. I died forgetting which one is which several times, tried to change it, saw no options, and just threw the game away. Besides the monumental lag I experience every fucking game, that killed it for me 😂.
btw once you reach crushing difficulty in rifts your opponents can do like 50+ damage to you in one hit unless your gem levels are extremely high like level 6 to 7 but you unlock crushing difficulty when you only have level 4 gems LOOOOOOOOL basically telling you to buy gem boosts in the shop
Whats weird is that Chaos and Horror rifts are completely doable, but Digital rifts, specifically the second one, get REALLY stupid. The first level is nearly unplayable.
I feel that thumbnail. I remember how good the connection was for the first few days, and people were talking about how good it was now, then immediately after that I got dropped connections at about every 5 games up to this day. Its sad
I am glad you and other people are making videos about the issues with this game. I love this game so much and it pains me to see it suffer. I will continue to play it until its shutdown and that hurts to say cuz this game had so much potential
Most of the images I use are mostly for examples, not really meant to be read in full. But I'll take that into account for sure for those who want a few more seconds. I know my editing can be pretty fast from one image or video to another
I basically stopped playing because i had a buddy i could play with, and one day the game suddenly didnt allow neither him to join my lobby or me to join his, i dunno if there's skill based matchmaking (i played during the beta and he didnt) but ever since it got updated it doesnt allow us to play together anymore, only in the rifts mode
Modern AAA games are made and designed by suits with no grip on reality... I am not a number on a spreadsheet... I am a human being who will one day grow old and die. I have limited time. No, I will NOT spend 30 hours grinding so I can play as a cartoon cat. NOR will I give you 10 dollars for a character. My time and money are precious to me, and these AAA MONGRELS treat our lifespans and wallets like they're fickle, and like we should give both to them happily. HORRIBLE business practices designed by *HORRIBLE* people... This is why 99% of the games I own are indie games. Although even some indies are succumbing to industry scum baggery... But that's another topic for another time.
1) 4 Characters shouldved been unlocked at the start each from different roles then shaggy as the like 5th on unlock. 2) Some characters shouldved been rift characters and shouldved been at the end would be a character or a trial during the rift for the character you can still buy them with currency and if you do own them you get half the credits for a new character
for the matrix event thing i think its only the first time you beat a boss, so you cant even get it(i havent played since the first day it released so they might have changed this)
Thanks for touching on this subject my bro and the biggest detriment to this game are the multiversus youtubers the ones that only play multiversus....i don't even need to explain why....50 xp is still garbage for winning you still barely notice. this whole game is a money scam disguised as a kids product.....disgusting.
Honestly at this point I think it’s time we all pick up a new hobby I’ve always liked soccer so I don’t see why I don’t play it more cuz wtf r these big ass companies tryna turn a hobby into a job for
Hey man I’m not sure how much time you have played of full release compared to the beta but I think after allot of grinding that the current speed is better for the game, like you said for 2s it’s obviously allot better. But also for ones as beta gameplay kinda just looked like to flies zipping around fast asf constantly spamming dodge and IMO was allot more frustrating to watch and play
I feel like they should done some things differently, like make the game $60 but have 10 or so characters unlocked, speed up single player, HEAVILY reduce the grind, finish the multiplayer servers, and make characters like $5 or something instead of $10 - $12. I’m not a CEO of a multi billionaire company, but I feel like $60 with most characters being unlocked at the start is better then a free game where almost everything is a micro transaction
I dont think that we should trust Warner for a Crossover Fighting Game of its properties anymore. Some of us should start working on a fan-made version of this game without all the predatory bullshit. We should evolve past Multiversus
LOL The battle pass is one of the better ones I ever saw, especially considering that it's free and u get enough gleamium from it to buy the next season's one supposedly.
I really want this game to succeed. I loved the beta was so much fun, obviously got bored of it and stopped after like a month or 2. But I really feel like this game is gonna have the exact same outcome as the beta. Just going to lose 99% of the players, cuz I already am bored of it.
Multiversus is a game with 20 characters but because I can only get 1 of them, it might as well only be 5 (shaggy, 1 character, 3 time limited options)
I remain hopeful that the game will get to a point where I play it like an actual video games, like with Smash. Battle Passes kinda ruin the fun in concept. I think if Battle Passes didn't go away, and you can continue to work on them at your own pace I would not feel so inclined to play the game daily as a chore. When the next Battle Pass Drops, let my progress for that new one work towards my old one in the background. FOMO leads to grinding, which leads to burnout. Smash does not have FOMO, because like you said, it's a game, not a job. I was one of the ones who quit during beta. I do not wanna quit this game now but after I get Uber Jason (if I last that long), I do not see myself playing this game regularly for "fun"
What I do like bout this game besides the roster is that a lot of the characters you unlock in the beta stay with you on the full plus you get Jason as a free character.
The most frustrating part to me is that it worked. On me at least. I love this game. I'm having tons of fun. And, to me anyway, if a game grabs me, it's all I play for a few months, so i get characters at a pretty steady rate. The problem is that it's still a grind, and I'm still 16 and impatient. I bought around $70 worth of stuff. I dunno what happened to me, man. I have almost every character now, but at what cost. I can tell you what cost, actually. $70. And i dont even have the full roster. And I didn't even buy all of the characters I have. Also im a dirty Morty/Gizmo/Finn 1v1-er. Fight me.
Hey man. If anything you are a victim. These companies target people like you and me. People with compulsive spending issues, who spend before they can think. I'm sorry this happened to you and sorry the modern gaming industry is like that
@ColeTheFactGuy thanks, man. I really don't get it, either. This kind of stuff usually never works on me. Yeah, I bought my fair share of things in Fortnite, but I feel like that's different because the changes are purely cosmetic and just fun things to have. Mortal Kombat 1 had the same issues, and guess what? They were annoying and I stopped playing. I never got into mobile games for that exact reason. And yet, the goofy fighting game with Bugs Bunny, Rick and Morty, and The Iron Giant is what broke me. And my wallet.
I aint gonna lie that shit at 15:09 to 15:19 gave me a really good laugh. That joke couldnt describe my feelings more when I read it was 10. At least they changed it to 50/25 but in all seriousness why wasnt it just that IN THE FIRST PLACE? How did they look at 10 and think that was a good number?
Also unlike Multiversus, Leagur of Legends has way less grind due to how BE is given often by champion shards that either lower the price, or just straight up give you it for free just by leveling up every level, meaning you get free currency based on a champs price at a much faster rate than Fighter currency.
9:18 Why are you ignoring Dexter's Lab 2? If more stages like that happen then that solves the problem (And in its announcement they called the normal Dexter's Lab the boring option so) the only complaint that came to mind for the record
Multiversus character unlocking would be so much better if every boss you beat in rift mode granted you a free pass to unlock a character without having to grind
As a long time Smite player, the free options of characters in Multiversus is a joke. In Smite, gods are classified in 5 roles: Warriors, Hunters, Assassins, Guardians, and Mages. When you start the game, you get twelve free gods, 2 for each role with the additions of Olorun(mage) and Yemoja(guardian). I feel I great way for build you free roster in Multiversus would be that you start with Shaggy, but by playing you get a free item to unlock a character for a specific role. You get enough of each of this item so that you have at least one of each fighter type in the game. Least that’s the idea I have, or at least do a Smite and have one of each role unlocked from the beginning.
as another person who also bought the founders pack and still has like 25 character tokens left + everyone unlocked already - yeah, I feel pretty much the same way as you. I've dropped it like a bag of rocks
For the no skill based matchmaking- i have the opposite issue. I'm not new to fighting games but I'm also not the best either. And for some reason the game insists on either giving me people with 4k wins on that single character who can juggle me and 0-death me, or people who just installed the game and I don't even have to think while fighting against. And yes, half of the games either desync or crash my game for some reason
Very very well made video. You voiced most of my complaints perfectly. It’s strange seeing how many people praise this game under comments sections of Player1stGames’ posts. They just announced Samurai Jack and I’m not even vaguely excited about it, they’ve sucked all of the fun out of MultiVersus
Ended up dropping the game hard after I made this. The fun had already been sucked out for me, so playing more just for the battle pass instead of playing actual good games drained the hell out of me.
I logged in every day the first week hoping the game would get better. I've logged in very sporadically since then. The grind is just too much. And Dailies/Weeklies requiring Characters that you don't own is scummy as hell. Rifts does the same thing. I think my biggest issue isnt even the very flawed game itself: it's the fans. You have this vocal sect of people that will make any and every excuse for this game's issues from "Youre just bad at the game" to "It's just a skin/banner"(in respone to Beta players who have lost their items and been fighting WB support to get them back) to "You shouldve spent your gold"(Tony himself said everything from Beta would carry over, then they axe Gold entirely, give players a measly banner, and create 4 confusing currencies). Some people just refuse to acknowledge the game has problems and I suspect these people kept making similar excuses right up until the Beta closed because the massive player dropoff.
It's because they want the game to succeed but don't realize it doesn't help to ignore the major issues ruining the game. It's a bad idea, as those people are going to be played as fucking fools
The Problem with most games like these is: They are trying too hard to chase 2 different fads that have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Basically whatever Fad is popular and then the Fad of a "Free To Play". because of this, The overall Design and Polish will be insanely censored Also why the fuck are people so quick to defend Multi Billion Dollar Companies when they serve us with this bullshit
It's weird, KI 2016 has basically the exact same model (though has a way to buy all the characters), but I didn't really hear any complaints about it. Iirc, you only had 3 characters, and had to pay/grind for more unlocks.
The game is fun but lacks what fortnite does well at, making the progess feel rewarding and worth it. These live service games always try skipping the slow steps and try jumping straight into the pool of money, yet fumble before making the jump. Which sucks cuz this game IS wonderful, but I wouldn't be surprised if this game fumbles again.
I sniffed the red flag in beta when I started playing and realized I had no way to play the characters without that grind or money issue. It was and is the single, primary reason I quit. No kidding. Everything else I was willing to deal with, but I couldn't play as anyone I wanted, and I literlly stopped caring about it. Why did I have to buy fighting game characters in the base game? I'm already miffed about having to buy DLC characters on top of buying the base game. WB absolutely ruined this game. I refuse to attack the devs for this. I know how businesses act with their IPs and teams.
I remember in beta i had WW unlocked and bought shaggy i had around half unlocked and in marvel vs Capcom 2 new age of heroes you had to grind points not saying its right and o know you grind more and a lot compared to MVC 2
Maybe smash bros set the bar standard so damn high lmao pay 50 bucks just to get 5 character where I can pay 60 bucks in smash bros and get all the characters by playing the game and plus dlc for extra characters and that still has more value but yeah still lol
To be honest just play Cartoon Network punch time explosion you get every character by unlocking the story, it’s a fun game, and it has all nostalgic cartoon characters back in the 90s and early 2000s
I was fortunate enough (relatively speaking) to play A LOT during the Beta, so I actually have access to the entire roster save for 3 characters I would never play as anyway, including the Joker because of all my accrued Beta rewards translated to me not having to grind much for that first 6000 fighter currency. I had access to all that, and I still uninstalled this piece of garbage game. The slowdown, the broken hitboxes and hurtboxes, half the combos not working as intended, 2v2 disconnects, the game just plays so terribly. I'm basically exclusively a 1s player, I played very competitively during the beta and I was consistently on the top 10 of my character and top 100 global. The rollback doesn't help how slow and clunky it feels while you're playing. I played the everloving shit out of the Beta, from DAY 1 of open beta release until maybe a week or two before the Beta was shut down. I was IMMENSELY disappointed from the very first fight I jumped into and then my disappointment just built up as I saw the absurd amount of monetization and grinding they imply they want you to do just to enjoy any aspect of it. It's literally to the point where I actually am kinda mad that I wasted the money and time I spent on the game as it was because I was able to experience a much more solid foundation just to see it torn to shreds by greed and incompetence.
I mained Taz and it kind of ruined the fun when they decided to slow the game down. Taz went from a chaotic character to some boring melee character that anybody easily can counter with a simple counter attack. Not all characters got grabs and stuff such which makes some characters WAY better with a slower gameplay, all Taz can do is to be up in your face, which is a bad thing if they got melee counters, which most popular characters do..
You don't need to make a game grindy if it's fun. And they don't seem to understand that live service games made their money off whales, not the average player. I've seen so many casual players boot up the game, realize they can't play as anyone they care about yet, play for a few hours, realize they're nowhere near close enough, and just quit.
One more thing that just shows how greedy the game truly is, some skins. Take Cartoon Batman for example, just the skin alone costs $20! For a character you might not even own yet! For the price you got 5 characters, stages and tons of new Songs for in Smash, you get a skin you will use maybe for a week until you wanna try out a different character and realise you like them more. Just, wow
I dont mind the stage list items do need to be in the game. Goofy mode I a good thing it only adds more variety as long as ranked ladder has them disabled I do not see the problem beyond more work but they are fucking Warner bros. .
Funny how people compain about the pace of the game, considering they must have not liked the previous, faster one if the beta flopped as bad as it did.

@@sethmichel6138 I was never talking about training mode, I was talking about local versus. Its seems kinda difficult to run a local tournament when for a single machine it takes around 30 hours per chardcter to unlock the entire roster.
@@Oswerb I agree, that why I wasn't talking to you. look at the beginning of my reply, I'm responding to what Artemi22 said
I grew up with cartoon Network and i love fighing games. It's frustrating that the only fighting game that has some of my favorite Cartoon Network characters is one of the worst games I've ever played.

I love a “beta” with a working store in it day one 😃. I also loved when 343 did it with halo infinite. It was so cool to have the store work better than the game. 😃
And Overwatch 2
Lesson of the day:
Never call a newly anounced platform fighter a "Smash Bros Killer" the final product might dissapoint.
@@ColeTheFactGuy exactly. it's admittedly a clever business tactic, but definitely not a consumer friendly one.
It sucks.
My personal problem with the game is not being able to toggle Neutral and Forward Attacks
Not to mention every stage feels like we're on the moon.
I'm glad that I unlocked wonder woman and garnet in the beta before they close beta for asia (This was not intended in the first place btw)
btw once you reach crushing difficulty in rifts your opponents can do like 50+ damage to you in one hit unless your gem levels are extremely high like level 6 to 7 but you unlock crushing difficulty when you only have level 4 gems LOOOOOOOOL basically telling you to buy gem boosts in the shop
Whats weird is that Chaos and Horror rifts are completely doable, but Digital rifts, specifically the second one, get REALLY stupid. The first level is nearly unplayable.
@@coolguyayden just imagine what the hardest difficulty will be like....especially that they make you pay for lives......christ.
The Ultimate God Pass is 20 so for 2 characters in Multiversus you can have the entire roster in Smite
Multiversus really giving us the overwatch 2 treatment because that was really fun the first time
It is truly depressing that it's becoming the norm. Look at CS2, or literally any other new "service" game
hey man when you make videos and you swap between images can you pause on them a little more so i can read them?
Most of the images I use are mostly for examples, not really meant to be read in full. But I'll take that into account for sure for those who want a few more seconds. I know my editing can be pretty fast from one image or video to another
14:45 I mean, that's fighting games
Townsville needs to be removed from the game, or severely reworked.
Do you mean Shaggy versus?, the game where everybody plays Shaggy?
1) 4 Characters shouldved been unlocked at the start each from different roles then shaggy as the like 5th on unlock.
2) Some characters shouldved been rift characters and shouldved been at the end would be a character or a trial during the rift for the character you can still buy them with currency and if you do own them you get half the credits for a new character
for the matrix event thing i think its only the first time you beat a boss, so you cant even get it(i havent played since the first day it released so they might have changed this)
I turned cross play off which actually works better than having it on
Thanks for touching on this subject my bro and the biggest detriment to this game are the multiversus youtubers the ones that only play multiversus....i don't even need to explain why....50 xp is still garbage for winning you still barely notice. this whole game is a money scam disguised as a kids product.....disgusting.
Honestly at this point I think it’s time we all pick up a new hobby I’ve always liked soccer so I don’t see why I don’t play it more cuz wtf r these big ass companies tryna turn a hobby into a job for
My boy reindog feels wayyyyy too slow. What did they do to my boy he wasn’t even broken?
Hey man I’m not sure how much time you have played of full release compared to the beta but I think after allot of grinding that the current speed is better for the game, like you said for 2s it’s obviously allot better. But also for ones as beta gameplay kinda just looked like to flies zipping around fast asf constantly spamming dodge and IMO was allot more frustrating to watch and play
I first theres gonna emmet from lego movie in there but there not as many characters as i thought it would have
I feel like they should done some things differently, like make the game $60 but have 10 or so characters unlocked, speed up single player, HEAVILY reduce the grind, finish the multiplayer servers, and make characters like $5 or something instead of $10 - $12. I’m not a CEO of a multi billionaire company, but I feel like $60 with most characters being unlocked at the start is better then a free game where almost everything is a micro transaction
Me and my friend when the network error happens because we thought it was because we were far from each other
I dont think that we should trust Warner for a Crossover Fighting Game of its properties anymore.
That’s good because they way these are designed usually by the time you get Uber Jason there will be a new battle pass
What I do like bout this game besides the roster is that a lot of the characters you unlock in the beta stay with you on the full plus you get Jason as a free character.
Apparently a lot of people lost their unlocks with the full release (one of my friends included) so even that's not perfect
6:52 is exactly what i said when the game was re-released. Ppl replied that was "complaining about free rewards." 🤣
MultiVersus Looked at Battlefield 2042 and put that shit on STAROIDS
7:42 Like any DLC fighters in any fighting game?
For most fighting games it’s like five or six characters. the entire roster (not shaggy) is DLC! 8:40
9:18 Why are you ignoring Dexter's Lab 2? If more stages like that happen then that solves the problem (And in its announcement they called the normal Dexter's Lab the boring option so)
the only complaint that came to mind for the record
Oh man don't get me started with the limits on the perks from the beta 🙄
I think for the xp thing it should give like 200 xp per match. Maybe 250. 10 games for 1 level is still wild but reasonable
I'm sure most games like this fucking hate Smite for setting a decent precedent
Oh Infinity Train, you deserved so much better
as another person who also bought the founders pack and still has like 25 character tokens left + everyone unlocked already - yeah, I feel pretty much the same way as you. I've dropped it like a bag of rocks
There is sbmm if u keep playing

For the no skill based matchmaking- i have the opposite issue. I'm not new to fighting games but I'm also not the best either. And for some reason the game insists on either giving me people with 4k wins on that single character who can juggle me and 0-death me, or people who just installed the game and I don't even have to think while fighting against. And yes, half of the games either desync or crash my game for some reason

You explained what is wrong with this game so well. Thank you.
I’ve decided I’ll play til the second shut down.
Iron Giant lags my ps4- i know its super old but I've never had a game lag this hard
I can't help but think WB seen this rising Mobile game market and thought lets take Multiversus out of beta and rework it for that audience.
It’s not just wb. The devs fucked up by making the game play a million times worse than beta. Fuck the new gameplay
why do people want to "kill" super smash bros? why cant we have multiple platform fighters?
i wish we didnt get rifts also and just focused on fixing the game
Cuz apparently Smash fans don’t like that
They want every other one to fail

It's weird, KI 2016 has basically the exact same model (though has a way to buy all the characters), but I didn't really hear any complaints about it. Iirc, you only had 3 characters, and had to pay/grind for more unlocks.
Because you can buy all of the characters for the price of a normal game

The game is fun but lacks what fortnite does well at, making the progess feel rewarding and worth it. These live service games always try skipping the slow steps and try jumping straight into the pool of money, yet fumble before making the jump. Which sucks cuz this game IS wonderful, but I wouldn't be surprised if this game fumbles again.
this thumb is perfect
Ive had zero issues since the new patch
And also giving money to this game is stupid imo. Cause I already know In like a year it’ll be shut down and all your money is gone.
After the hype i forgot the until i saw this video
Goofy mode I a good thing it only adds more variety as long as ranked ladder has them disabled I do not see the problem beyond more work but they are fucking Warner bros. .
Funny how people compain about the pace of the game, considering they must have not liked the previous, faster one if the beta flopped as bad as it did.
why do people say ‘DUB-ul yu-BEE’ when they can more easily say ‘Warner Bros’
