I'm aware i missed the fact that you can technically get more than one Toast through playing doubles. However, while you're still more likely to get toasts (especially if you have a teammate), I don't think the numbers will be too much better. You can't rely on a teammate to just toast you every game either, as they will run out of toasts likely long before you get a character.
@user-fy4to2ob1v true , he doesnt need it so its not a problem for him , but it is for everyone else , i hate not having more than 2 characters i want to play I grinded since launch and managed to unlock garnet and jake ... thats it People who defend this are the ones who dont need anything
17:00 as a beta player who's currently going through the game since the relaunch, I can confirm that notion. When I started playing, I literally had no idea the monetization was this bad until I looked at other people's experiences online. It's so bizarre that for the relaunch they made the experience better for returning players rather than structuring the monetization to appeal to a newer crowd.
Yeah this game actually should start you with 12k fighter currency so you have options on which characters you want on your roster atleast that should atleast let you get 3 or 4 additional starter characters to choose from and 10k perk currency
Same here, plus with the battle pass given to us for free, I was swindled into a false sense of security of "Oh, characters are faster to unlock now!" Having obtained around 9000 currency the first week, but after remembering that, plus having come to a slower hault as the days go by, this system truly is a greedy and preposterous mess that sometimes doesn't even let you progress by paying the preposterous amounts of real money it demands for Gleamium
@@nicholasaugello2534 no game works with this way thats free. even league of legends you get like one. i played for 2 weeks with battle pass i have 12k currency. thats 4 characters idk what is happening with everyone else
@@jmurray1110 I like the break the targets because its actually a smash gamemode and its a nice break. The bosses 2-3 are a bore, 1 and 4 are unique but way to easy
@@poed75 personally I hate break the targets the movement doesn’t quite fit the design and they aren’t exactly designed for each character Also the scrolling ones are awful Bosses yeah mixed bag but generally unenjoyable
As a newcomer to MultiVersus, I can absolutely agree that unlocking every character is both nearly impossible and absurdly expensive. I only managed to grind out about 9k fighter currency to unlock 3 characters and now the grind has slowed to a snail's pace. And while I haven't put any money into the game yet, almost $200 for every character is just insane. And with how bad the monetization is, it makes me very worried for the future for this game. I REALLY don't want it to die, it has too much potential for insane guest character like Godzilla and Goku. I hope the devs will be able to fix the monetization. They just need to make grinding fighter currency more consistent and have the characters be less expensive. I really want to see this game thrive. Here's hoping for the future of MultiVersus.
I bought the $20 founders bundle in the beta and I still have leftover character tickets after buying all the characters. I don’t know how the monetization could go from being so good to so bad at the full launch. Also, who’s going to buy skins for characters they don’t own? I hope PFG is able to change the monetization.
This is something I definitely should have mentioned. I did buy the first battle pass despite not having all the characters during the Beta, as the characters that I didn't unlock I could use those skins for in the offline mode Now that it takes forever to unlock them, there's no reason you'd ever be interested in a skin for a character you don't have.
@@Zetta330 they are trying to make that a thing with the rifts. With the “graphic T” being required + a specific character type, it’s designed to get you to buy instead of grind
Let's not pretend like Warframe grind is the best most fun thing in the world. I stopped playing because it eventually started to feel like working a job. But yeah it's still heaps better than Multiversus..
@@Nootaro_ There's nothing in Warframe that requires you to run it like a job, unless you're hyper focusing on one thing instead of spreading out your play. I have ADHD so I just play whatever for fun and get rewarded quite often with new stuff all the time. The only grind I dislike is Necramech, since that's required to progress the story. Thankfully in the next update they're cutting down that grind by several hours.
@akdreamer6497 my brother I also have adhd and the grind sucks ass lol. The main thing helping warframe is the trading system that allows you to completely bypass the grind with a little plat
with so many highly successful free to play games with monetization models that worked, multiversus learned no lessons and in fact downgraded from its own beta. it almost feels like warner bros WANT the game to flop.
The absolute worst part the cherry on top is that ontop of the fact that all their skins are like 25 dollars they're also TERRIBLE multiversus has to have some of the most unlikable cosmetics I've ever seen in any game ever
As someone who played the beta it pains me to look back at all the gold I just sat on because I legitimately could've gotten every character in the beta with my gold and now all that gold just goes to a fancy badge that does nothing. Curse you, hindsight.
Like you said in the video, Brawlhalla has an option where you can pay $40 to buy all current and future characters. I think Multiversus should do this. It will most likely be pricey since the game's roster consist of very well-known characters, but it would be worth it since you are guaranteed to get all the current characters as well as any future ones without having to grind your life away just to gain one character.
VERY glad you actually made a constructive breakdown of the game's flaws. It's a lot more mature than just saying "Joker takes 900 HOURS?! 😱" and not elaborating. Good video.
Thank you! I genuinely like the game a lot despite it's flaws and wanted to come from a perspective of wanting to raise awareness of these issues in hopes that people are more aware of them and it becomes higher priority to fix them.
Honestly, the whole model of unlocking the characters through this kind of grind is just stupid especially considering this is a kind of a game where the characters are MEANT to be unique and play uniquely
I genuinely think that Multiversus would make more money if all the characters were free, because right now I have to reason to get any cosmetics for any characters I don't own and I'm not incentivized to buy characters with Gleamium rather than Fighter Currency
This is why I was baffled that when the game first was announced, everyone was inexplicably so excited that it was free to play. I feel like to anyone with a brain, that’s a very bad thing. It essentially means that, it won’t be a full, real game. And you’ll need to pay for every single thing you wanna do in the game. If it was a normal game with a full price tag I would’ve been so much happier, it would’ve come with more content and it would’ve had everything available from the get go with a single price tag. So now the game gets to price gouge consumers for every single cent they possibly can, while at the same time getting away with basically not even being a real game with adequate content. It’s an awful, money-grubbing corporate video game model from WB. Which is a shame since the game is actually really fun and could’ve been great.
I did have to add an extra segment to address that, lol It does give me a lot of hope they WILL fix these issues in time, but it doesn't solve everything and the system still needs a ton of work.
honestly, this game has shown me one thing in particular, that a grand majority of platfighters have one huge issue weighting it down Multiversus starting out free to play kind of killed it from making it greedy because it was reaching 20 million active players but didn't get that much money compared to other games reaching that number. Fraymakers art style is the biggest nightmare as not even the devs have made more than three characters fully animated in the game's 4 years of development, the game having a huge focus on modding support only made that so much worse as modders pretty much have no choose but to either spend a year or two spriting in this style or ditching the art style. You had made a whole video on how Rivals 2 isn't a good sequel because it tries to appeal and play more like melee, ironically making it more like a smash clone than a smash rival. Indie game battle and cross impact have so many issues in common it's scary how we're not looking back at the problems IGB had that so many platfighters have. Honestly, despite so much good stuff about rivals 2, all these issues make me grow more and more distant from platfighters in general and my experience with CI did not help that either
Honestly I kinda agree. I can’t say for sure about Rivals since I never played the game and everyone has their own thoughts, but I agree with most of the other points. I love CI but it has issues at its core with moveset and assist design (idk if I’d compare it to IGB but I can see why it would be). You can even include Nasb 1+2 on this list with the initial lack of crossplay and content for the first (VAs, items, single player content). The second game is tons better but the image was kinda damaged from the first game. Honestly this stuff just makes me excited for games like Combo Devils and Smack Studio since those have promising aspects to them that make them more accessible and fun for all players.
@@Clownbelt-u2sI wrote down what I meant by the fact about other platfighters not looking at IGB of what not to do - do not release your game in early access in the most early state, people will see that verison of the game AS the game. first impressions. - please find a good art style you are comfortable making stuff in that DOES NOT add any sort of restriction on the project and its quality - have a GOOD financial plan to pay your animators that they fully agree on that DOES NOT limit artistic value, this problem is not there if you are the one animating.

@@Clownbelt-u2sNick 2 is such a tragedy because it fixed almost everything wrong with the first game outside of some glitches ( Also it didn't have any good casual levels outside of the Thornberries one, but that's not that big of an issue because it's still fun to play casually), but the game's reputation and lack of marketing kept it from having a consistent scene. Shame because it's EASILY my favorite platform fighter that isn't a mod, but that game is as dead as a doorknob now, like actually, and they haven't even finished all the DLC yet.
As someone that played the beta, yeah the monetization is shite. Like, I have quite a few characters from the beta but that was less than half. And yeah, fighter currency is a terrible replacement for gold. So, do your quests, log on every day and get the free item from the shop (can be fighter currency) and just ignore the fact that your not getting characters and check your currency every 3 days.
Haha I'm a beta player and i don't have all the characters, because i was saving my gold. Now i just have over 16000 power inside and a gif. I find it funny that they're taking away that free to play crap little by little with updates, they just went from 10 xp per win to 50, it's probably in reaction to huge numbers of players leaving, increasing the number go up by an amount this ridiculous compared to what it was meant to be is certainly an option. WB likes to throw some hard work and passion into the trash, i think we'll be seeing an end of support post in a while if the players don't pay money, hence the greedy changes, but WB can't get money if no one is playing in the first place, so now they're rolling some changes back. I'm not sure what to really think of all this, because on one hand the character acquisition is awful, but now that you can get little scraps of gleamium every so often and the battle pass (which is free for beta players) pays for the next one, i think this monetization might not be rotten enough. DC Dual Force was a game that got canceled before it got out of beta. This one moght not be profitable enough too. You can also look at it as a classic "i want to do bad change, so i do very bad change and improve it to bad", because that kinda checks out too, i don't know.
The game is fun, but is going to die fast if this keeps going ... My internet is bad, so I already have problems with the game, I don't need godawful monetization to make it even worst
I think the most frustrating thing for me is the perk currency. Its the only thing thats absolutely everywhere and its frankly next to useless, and even more so when perks feel like afterthoughts after the relaunch. Im near 100k perk currency and i would happily trade that for even half a characters worth of fighter currency Like i understand why they split up the currency the way they did, so they dont put you into 'do i want a character or a perk or a skin' situations, but having one currency be completely overabundant and almost worthless, and the other be highly valued and almost impossible is just dumb imo Seriously though i beg them, please let us have some way to convert perk currency to fighter currency. I dont care how bad the conversion rate is, just something to use that crap on
Also the offline not giving characters and perks is totally fine Now you can have a setup counterpick, where you can get counterpicked by going to a setup that just doesnt have some character lmao (Purely a joke, thats actually ridiculous)
They need to reward more currency cuz that’s crazy, 150 hours?! I’m lucky because I got a couple character tickets from beta and had tons of gold. Feel bad for new players
Is it sad that I feel bad for other players who don’t get all the characters. I toast sometimes. When they aren’t being try hards XD. But yea this is bad. I didn’t see this coming. Wait did you also talked about some of the rifts are unlocked if you don’t have a certain cosmetic and you can’t continue. Oh god the next one is summer. You’re going to need a summer skin to continue the rift. Oh god!
Wait i dont have the game but am a fighting game fan who has been observing these events... shaggy is the only base roster character? And banana is free if you do login stuff?
@@LgameZ damn thats like the free version of granblue vs rising then. Except as mentioned in the video you can just upgrade to the full game and get the other characters
Agree with virtually everything but the Agent Smith stuff. It's there as a bonus that you can prepare to grind for far before his release so you don't have to worry about unlocking him with currency. Whether he was in the game or not is irrelevant as he's a new character with no official gameplay out on him (at least when the event was released) and it straight up tells you this is to get it 2 weeks earlier than intended. Yeah you can say it's to force people to play their crappy PVE mode, but you don't HAVE to and can just use your currency when he comes out anyway whenever or however long it takes you to save all that up (GL to you non founder ppl ggnore)
I don't disagree, but what I mean is that the game should make it clear what you can and cannot get at this time. Many people booted up the game expecting to be able to get agent Smith off the gate (since we still don't know the release date, "two weeks early" tells us nothing) having the track tell you the date the next item is obtainable would help a lot.
@@Zetta330 Yeah I think what adds to the problem is the UI is so garbage that things don't even really explain what they mean when we read them. With the Top Dog PVP event, it just says "until July 14th" no time, nothing. But what I assumed they meant, and the date that the final rift opens up, should mean 2 weeks after that point he should be released. Seeing as how the event is almost 2 months long, they don't expect it to be done quickly. The estimated time of earliest completion was believed to be July 10th so let's hope they learn from this shit show.
Getting legends in Brawlhalla is way easier than it seem too, since you get gold for every queue (even private matches), for leveling up legends, doing the weekly gamemode, daily quests, and daily logging rewards, which also give you a minimum of like 300 gold as a minimum just for getting in the game
Brawlhalla's battle pass model is actually pretty good. See every bp level requires 12 gems. You earn gems through 3 ways. Bp missions, bp exp, and dailies. Bp missions are given every Wednesday and give a couple levels, bp exp is earned through regular play and give various amounts of gems from 2 to 6 to 12, and dailies give 4 meaning every 3 days you get a level. So if a bp gets released you can save up dailies and get 1 level day one. You have ample opportunities to grind out the bp and get levels easily by just playing a lot. As well if you beat all the missions you get a special completionist avatar. As for the rewards you get a couple character skins, one epic skin with new animations, a progression skin that's 3 skins in one, a progression podium, several avatars, emojis, an exclusive color for your legends whch has a universal unlock for current and future characters, one ko effect, weapon skins for each weapon, and taunts. There's a lot of stuff to earn. And there's boosters in the gold track to make it easier
It came with a catch. There was a small time window where you had to log in before June 11th or else you don’t get Jason or the pass for free. I unfortunately didn’t because I was away from home during this even though I played beta when it was released
I agree the grind is too much. But you did forget to mention that you also get glemium for character and battlepass levels. Which you can use towards getting characters too which lowers the time you calculafed by a bit.
Perfectly concise, thank you. I'd want to add something about Flash Party. While I think "It is dying only because it doesn't have enough players to play against" if you understand what I mean. Perfectly good Smash-like, with some good and some bad. In the past (Not now) it had a levelling system. Characters on max level had unlocked stickers and did 50% more damage and received 50% less pushback. While I think - it can be overcome with straight skill alone; Leveling up took a lot of coins and character specific (or universal) currency. So much that I played for a year, and got 3 characters close to max level, and 1 to max just the week they were patching levels out of the game. And I'll praise Lethal League for including a password to play offline with everything unlocked, once again.
Why not just pull a smash bros and just charge 70 dollars for the game but you get all of the characters and some costumes for them, just have to play around 20-30 matches to get all the characters, and since I know WB is greedy you could add a battle pass with a new character each season that you have to pay for (similar to dlc fighters in smash bros). Would still give WB a good amount of money, and fix this issue
right as i watched this video is when i realized all of this is true i already knew it was extremely grindy, but damn. theres a couple of things that could maybe change our aspect 1. Login Rewards this just makes sense yk 2. Occasional difficult missions that reward more can pop up in dailys and weeklys 3. A system where it looks at the match and determines stuff like how many times you were hit, and the ratio between how many lives the winner and loser had this is a NEED thoughts? ik #1 said daily for a sec i realized after like 30 min maybe
You should 100% be able to jsve access to the whole character roster in customs and offline mode... I have a friend that just likes to 1v1 yet he is burdened with the fact that he will never get to even play with other fighters... that would be maddening. I play a lot but I also play all the characters as I got them all in the beta. I feel REALLY bad for new players as the characters are all super cool in their own way. The fact most will never experience them all is very sad...
I think the fundamental flaw with this "it takes forever to unlock them all" argument is people have mains in fighting games. Usually like 2 or 3 tops they play as regularly. Once you have them, most people dont mind playing hundreds of hours to unlock the arbitrary ones they wont even use, cuz they were gonna play hundreds of hours anyway.
I bought the premium founders pack in beta and it was probably the best long term purchase for this game. It included beta battle passes along with like 30 character unlocks or something I have all the characters in the game now because of it, along with no need to spend additional money on the game due to character currency racking up from playing the characters I already own along with more tokens I still have that carried over.
Here’s what they should do make the character levels have both fighter currency and perk currency and prestige and glemium for the final rewards. Then take out the rift stuff and fighter and perk currency from the battle pass and replace it with more glemium and prestige currency
It is true that if you did a lot in the beta. I did not realized that it was a beta, but after I found that the game fun I sprung for buying the middle one. Then I realized that the grind for getting everyone wasn't that bad so I got most of the beta ones with the coins. Then it went away I was wondering if I screwed myself not using them but now still have the tickets and still am taking it slow and still have tickets and am only short 4 of the roster. Then again cosmetics are a rare thing for me so if I get a costume or not does not matter to me.
Im playing multiversus rn after they updated the amount of battlepass xp you get from a victory and its a much better amount now than it was before. I just won like 3 1v1s in a row and got around 600 xp, so slowly but surely we're making improvements here. It hurts my heart how egregious these microtransactions are because the core game is fun. I just hope they keep making these player friendly changes and maybe ill pay 5 bucks for a skin (think all the toonverse skins are $5) just to show a little support. What i refuse to do is give my money to a game that makes me play it as a full time job. Thats why the only free to play game i been spending money on lately is warframe
The ONLY thing I bought as cosemetic is the Swifty emote for Rick. I currently only have 3 characters unlocked...Its actually insane how little the game gives you to unlock characters and I refuse to pay a DIME for a game doing this. Even the 50 XP win is so small, it does help but I would prefer actually getting currency for winning a match..LIKE NORMAL GAMES DO.
I only played beta for the 1st season, and with a laptop that had to run lowest settings to maybe function. With this video, I now realize I probably had enough gold to purchase a few fighters, and I didn’t buy any by the time gold went away. So oof, but I still enjoy the game and do agree its systems are worse than beta. I hope the game doesn't just leave again and that characters aren't going to be locked for 12 seasons.
One thing to say to people that is not that big but still kinda an issue. So in rifts you need to play as certain characters, like lets say play an animated detective whos a bruiser, then the answer is shaggy right? but if you use the legendary Shagworthy or whatever the name is skin, he no longer counts as a detective character. Skins can add or remove the classifications of a character and its best to not use the skins without the prior idea it does that. Very stupid imo
I do see away to get fighter & perk currency💲even gleamium but it seems to be broken 😞 I noticed the mastery tracks (you see it after a victory on the right side in the Rifts match) the tier rolls 100 of each currency when you make 10 or more matches it's get higher when you get to level 5. I think this is the regular way we get this currency but it not working. I'm surprised no one notices this we or not getting all of the rewards we are earning 😕
The Founder's packs alleviated a lot of these issues, but aren't even available in a downgraded sense. Bought the $100 version and I won't have to buy characters for YEARS. Multiversus doesn't seem like a well designed FREE game, but wouldn't have been that bad as a paid game.
You said it... I loved this game in its beta state (I put 170h in it) and even though they made it slower and changed many small aspects like the UI I still like it. I think the Rift is not bad but this new system is stupid... During the beta I unlocked almost every char, I was only missing Joker, Rick, Stripe, Black Adam and Marvin. After investing 90 more hours Im still missing 2.5k to buy the last one. Other downside: the servers (EU in my case) are still very bad, I keep experiencing the "match desynchronised" at least once per day or absolute random and terrible lags. I might stop wasting my time and comeback later... or not.
While I do loathe the greed, just the fact that the game is so much slower also just stopped me from playing already. Just look at how Velma moves at 20:31 nobody can do that in the game right now, everyone is just so huge and slow and boring to look at now. Slow gameplay and horrendously greedy devs/publishers just made me stop playing and it'll probably shut down again before they can fix anything.
This shit is what made me quit Apex, which isn't nearly as bad as this. I've gone from "I might try this at some point but idk if it's my cup of tea" to "I ain't touching this with a 10 foot pole"
I was wondering if it would be ever said but you hit the mark of why i think multiversus is like this right now. Big executives who dont understand what players want and instead of a fun experience with rewards for playing, they want you to put on the uniform and clock in to their 9-5... tho games like fuckin league of legends passes are absolute nightmares and seeing just the ability to slowly but surely grind for the premium content for free is so good to see. Overall i wish the grind wasnt as bad as it is, but i think the devs themselves will get the green light to fix it later, game is very good tho and a good alternative for people who either dont like brawlhalla or dont have a switch to play Smash.
Yeah, multiverses used to have an option in the beta where you could just buy the founders edition and get all the characters and a set number of future ones. However, I do think the idea that it takes this long to grind out fighter currency is a little disingenuous. I've been casually playing this game since it launched and I'm just about to hit 10K fighter currency. It's only been out for like 2 and 1/2 weeks and I have enough to get three characters and still have a thousand left over.
With the digital store I don’t even see anything I want to buy If joker is the highest priced item I’m sure whenever a character comes out that I care about I will have the currency to buy it but I don’t see anything that’s really tempting to buy
It takes 100 videos talking trash about multiversus to being it down this game will not fail the fact that someone always has a complaint instead of just playing the free to play game shows how good it is if it was really bad people wouldn’t even talk about it devs are genuinely working out the players requests into the game this game gonna get better and better
Don't get me wrong, I like the game a lot, but that's all the more reason to be critical of it. I want the game to be better, and there's a lot of genuine issues that should be fixed. Unfortunately, I don't have the same sentiment that the game won't fail. It already did once, I think that the game needs to make moves quickly to prevent it from happening again. Thankfully PFG has made some genuine improvements to the systems, but there's still a lot that needs to be done.
People talk about it a lot even those who hate it (not including me) because devs have a fricking GOLD MINE in their hands considering the amount of insane characters that could be in the game. Remember, its Warner Bros that own this game, also means Multiversus could be what Smash players always wanted because they have tons of money and are willing to invest in esport, which they already did twice if Im not wrong. So yeah, its a huge topic for fighting game players.
As a beta player im going through attempting to complete the rifts solo but it feels impossible as the difficulty spike is ridiculous if your facing more then one enemy and bosses having garbage recovery and hit boxes to combo to death. I log in and do dailys everyday miss here and there miss one day a week but its horrendous how i meet the requirements to fight a rift but i still fail to do the damage needed regardless. Feeling poor way to make the game challenges actually balance and just bog down your strength bu diminish your damage and see no next to no improvement to yourself as you climb scratching and struggling to get strongerbeyond instanity and looney and locking out other difficulties while the agent smith event ending in a few days feel like walling me off to play theyre difficulty on by skiping to harder challanges beyond rift 4-9 not letting acess to experinced. You might say i need to get good but theyre only so much you can do if youre a solo player.
dunno pal, I already have 6 characters including joker (9 with shaggy, banana guard and jason) and I'm on the last page of the battle pass, oh I'm 13 bosses in as well and not even a month passed since the release 😅😅
I believe upgrading your battlepass is less than 1K Gleamium. If I had to do it over. I would upgrade the battle pass and then grind from there. I purchased gizmo instead now Im wishing I did the opposite. Gizmo is cool though. Im grinding to get 6K fighter coins to get Joker now. I would have gotten characters during the battlepass and it would have been more worth it for sure.
I would not be playing MvS if I didnt have a majority of the cast from the beta already. Gold was not only more fair than fighter currency but more understandable! I tried to show my friend this game and they got scared off by all the new currencies :/
The only thing I see we can get fr is perk points. Sure you need the points to unlock perks but you dont need every single perk. Im sitting on like 50k in perk points and my characters feel coo. If they want to keep The currency at a “minimum” thats coo too, But a free to play gotta atleast make it doable. Give me a conversion system between the different points Like for every 5,000 perk you get 1,000 fight. Or something with the Prestige, that would be dope 🗣️
I think I'm one of the only people who grinded and bought every character in the beta for free. I'm surprised it will take 2 years just to get every character, and it only took me under a year💀. Crazy how money hungry the game is now

Having obtained around 9000 currency the first week, but after remembering that, plus having come to a slower hault as the days go by, this system truly is a greedy and preposterous mess that sometimes doesn't even let you progress by paying the preposterous amounts of real money it demands for Gleamium

I did buy the first battle pass despite not having all the characters during the Beta, as the characters that I didn't unlock I could use those skins for in the offline mode
Now that it takes forever to unlock them, there's no reason you'd ever be interested in a skin for a character you don't have.
@@Zetta330 they are trying to make that a thing with the rifts. With the “graphic T” being required + a specific character type, it’s designed to get you to buy instead of grind
"This is just how F2P games are" mfs when I show them Warframe
Let's not pretend like Warframe grind is the best most fun thing in the world. I stopped playing because it eventually started to feel like working a job. But yeah it's still heaps better than Multiversus..
@@Nootaro_ There's nothing in Warframe that requires you to run it like a job, unless you're hyper focusing on one thing instead of spreading out your play. with so many highly successful free to play games with monetization models that worked, multiversus learned no lessons and in fact downgraded from its own beta. it almost feels like warner bros WANT the game to flop.
old ui shop was so good, oh ma ga.
I barely get toast so basically it's impossible to grind out fighter currency whatsoever
I paid for the founders pack. That wouldn’t really be fair and make our character tickets worthless.
@@TheArtOfMindusually games with get everybody pack refunds the ones you bought already. So no waste
@@TheArtOfMindI also bought the pack and feel screwed over.. I was saving a ticket for joker and poof! Nothing..
They want a competitive scene, but their actions say otherwise.
I'VE BEEN SAYING HOW ARE WE EVEN SUPPOSED TO UNLOCK CHARACTERS
Honestly, the whole model of unlocking the characters through this kind of grind is just stupid especially considering this is a kind of a game where the characters are MEANT to be unique and play uniquely
And they want a competitive scene and no TO will wabt yo deal with that bollocks
The big 3 gatcha games are less stingy than multiversus, Seriously wild
I genuinely think that Multiversus would make more money if all the characters were free, because right now I have to reason to get any cosmetics for any characters I don't own and I'm not incentivized to buy characters with Gleamium rather than Fighter Currency
Yea
Can we please get player first games attention with this they are usually open for feedback and this is pretty outrageous.
I'm so happy I bought every character in the beta.. good luck on that grind you guys
The servers won't even last two years before being shut down, who knows if it'll even last one.
Thank you for standing up for us people who only want to play this game offline locally.
Unfortunate timing considering they JUST increased bp xp from games but well said regardless
I did have to add an extra segment to address that, lol
It does give me a lot of hope they WILL fix these issues in time, but it doesn't solve everything and the system still needs a ton of work.
BP XP doesn't even help much at all. There needs to be fighter currency as a reward for winning games, just like BP XP, AND from dailies.
They upgraded us from crumbs to scraps.
That isn't confirmed to be staying either they just changed it for this season
honestly, this game has shown me one thing in particular, that a grand majority of platfighters have one huge issue weighting it down
Multiversus starting out free to play kind of killed it from making it greedy because it was reaching 20 million active players but didn't get that much money compared to other games reaching that number.

Im near 100k perk currency and i would happily trade that for even half a characters worth of fighter currency
Like i understand why they split up the currency the way they did, so they dont put you into 'do i want a character or a perk or a skin' situations, but having one currency be completely overabundant and almost worthless, and the other be highly valued and almost impossible is just dumb imo
Seriously though i beg them, please let us have some way to convert perk currency to fighter currency. I dont care how bad the conversion rate is, just something to use that crap on
Also the offline not giving characters and perks is totally fine
Now you can have a setup counterpick, where you can get counterpicked by going to a setup that just doesnt have some character lmao
(Purely a joke, thats actually ridiculous)
They need to reward more currency cuz that’s crazy, 150 hours?! I’m lucky because I got a couple character tickets from beta and had tons of gold. Feel bad for new players

In the beta I have every character maxed out and they did give me alot of character but like 5 of them where locked
2 year grind? How come I have all of them in 2 weeks
🤷 they changed it now for the better
You should be able to get the battle pass within 2-4 weeks imo
also in brawlhalla you get every character they release in the future with the purchase
Wait, players who played the beta got the pass for free? I didn't, and I played the beta quite a bit
Founders packs did
It came with a catch.
Would still give WB a good amount of money, and fix this issue
right as i watched this video is when i realized all of this is true
i already knew it was extremely grindy, but damn.
theres a couple of things that could maybe change our aspect
1. Login Rewards
this just makes sense yk
2. Occasional difficult missions that reward more
can pop up in dailys and weeklys
3. A system where it looks at the match and determines stuff like how many times you were hit, and the ratio between how many lives the winner and loser had
this is a NEED
thoughts?
ik #1 said daily for a sec i realized after like 30 min maybe
You should 100% be able to jsve access to the whole character roster in customs and offline mode... I have a friend that just likes to 1v1 yet he is burdened with the fact that he will never get to even play with other fighters... that would be maddening. I play a lot but I also play all the characters as I got them all in the beta. I feel REALLY bad for new players as the characters are all super cool in their own way. The fact most will never experience them all is very sad...
3:30 already outdated info,they made it 50 for a win,25 for a loss now
6000 for a new char is absolutely nuts.
Really good video fighter currency is non existent past the beginner missions
For a second I thought they fixed the 2/3 missions per day issue for events and then realized I had a lot just bc I hadn’t touched the game on 5 days
I played the beta but I didn't get battle pass !😢
I bought the premium founders pack in beta and it was probably the best long term purchase for this game. It included beta battle passes along with like 30 character unlocks or something
I have all the characters in the game now because of it, along with no need to spend additional money on the game due to character currency racking up from playing the characters I already own along with more tokens I still have that carried over.
i really hope the add an option to buy tiers in the battle pass so that it makes the grinds easier
Man I hope they revive Crash Team Rumble and also fix this game
You sound much more genuine and real in this video than you do in previous videos, idk what that means lol
Welp, just a few weeks later and Multiversus has lost over 95% of the playerbase on Steam
Here’s what they should do make the character levels have both fighter currency and perk currency and prestige and glemium for the final rewards. Then take out the rift stuff and fighter and perk currency from the battle pass and replace it with more glemium and prestige currency
good in depth review and points
Solution for character prices: make all characters 1500 fighter currency
Agree with almost everything you said, keep up the good content.
I don't play too often but i got 10k fighter currency in a week and im not entirely sure how.
Big Rushdown Revolt patch coming in about a week.
Actually? I'm going to try out the update then if that's true. I hope that game gets picked up by a publisher/ studio so it can actually succeed.
Is it sad that I feel bad for other players who don’t get all the characters. I toast sometimes. When they aren’t being try hards Xd
The Founder's packs alleviated a lot of these issues, but aren't even available in a downgraded sense. Bought the $100 version and I won't have to buy characters for YEARS. Multiversus doesn't seem like a well designed FREE game, but wouldn't have been that bad as a paid game.
I want to get the Uber Jason skin badly but 700 hours is so damn crazy I don’t even want to play it, such a shame
They updated the EXP you get now, it's not nearly that long anymore
You said it... I loved this game in its beta state (I put 170h in it) and even though they made it slower and changed many small aspects like the UI I still like it.
I think the Rift is not bad but this new system is stupid... During the beta I unlocked almost every char, I was only missing Joker, Rick, Stripe, Black Adam and Marvin.
After investing 90 more hours Im still missing 2.5k to buy the last one.
Other downside: the servers (EU in my case) are still very bad, I keep experiencing the "match desynchronised" at least once per day or absolute random and terrible lags.
I might stop wasting my time and comeback later... or not.
They should really make character tokens be earnable through battles and increase tokens earned through toast significantly.
You forgot terrible network issues, it’s hard to grind when your matches keep getting dropped.
This is the exact reason why I'll never bring myself to play this game.
Reminds me of overwatch. But at least there all the characters are unlocked
Ngl my only problem is the fact that i cant connect to a doubles match at all
It’s too far to get the agent smith
Honestly in my opinion the game has unlimited potential but thats the biggest flaw
I'm pretty sure you need way less time to unlock every league character than in multiversus, and league has like 170
dunno pal, I already have 6 characters including joker (9 with shaggy, banana guard and jason) and I'm on the last page of the battle pass, oh I'm 13 bosses in as well and not even a month passed since the release 😅😅
