They have also updated it now so that if you beat a classic run with a pokemon it gives it a ribbon and every unique mon you beat classic with is 5 egg pulls
Pokerogue feels like the true roguelike, while Emerald Roguelike feels more like a very streamlined nuzlocke. Honestly, it's pretty incredible they both exist, both scratch different itches, and and both absolutely have their own place.
My description for these two games is: pokerogue is a roguelike game with the mechanics of pokemon, emerald rogue is a pokemon game with the mechanics of a roguelike
I've been putting EVERYONE on this game. I finished my first run on a throwaway thanks ENTIRELY to Primarina and Excadrill, with support from Lando-T, Tyranitar, Ceruledge, and Gmax Rillaboom. I had a Kingambit that got KOed, followed immediately by the TTar. I also don't care for the final fight. If I don't have Excadrill, it is VERY hard to do. But other than that, bro I literally can't stop playing this game. I play at it work, at the doctor's office, at the bank, and I even sneak a few turns in when waiting at the drive through. Fuck this game is ADDICTING
I'm in a similar boat. Can't play all the time as I've got a full time job and I try to keep busy making videos but it's insanely addicting. Wish I could also get a gmax or mega
@@ColeTheFactGuy Also, as someone who consistently has runs getting to around floor 150 minimum and would consider themselves relatively good at pokerogue, mega evolution and gigantamax are item chains, so for gigantamax you need a dynamax band, and then find a max mushroom for the g-max pokemon, and for mega evolution, you need a mega bracelet and then that pokémons mega stone. And champions aren’t connected to the elite 4, in my first run to get past 190, i thought the same, getting the paldea e4 and then geeta, but no, it can be any elite 4 and any champion, they can be different though.😊
I definitely agree, the rival fight actually encourages a balanced team and smart play. Floor 200 encourages cheese. Which isn’t fun. I’m deep in endless farming shinies of my favorites, I can’t wait to start a new classic run with favorite pokemon rather than broken ones, but to buff them up and play well.
That Final rival fight really is something special. With how the games ai works you really have to think about each move you make. Really disappointed that Eternatus doesn't hit the same heights but honestly the final rival fight is so good I can't whine too much
I don’t really have much of an interest in the rouge-like Pokémon roms, but this video is very entertaining still! Thank you Mr. fact guy for another banger video
Candies I feel are probably gonna be the thing that ages my video the most. I feel like they'll be updated and changed the most out of everything because while passives are awesome they take way too long to get
Excadrill is just so damn good. Good stats and it learns good move. I would love to use garchomp instead, but the moves learned by excadrill are just so much better without having to rely on finding specific TM's
Hatched a great Squirtle with Bouncing Bubbles, yesterday he carried me to floor 188 by using Shell Smash with Bouncing Bubbles, invested massively in Def, Sp. Def and Sp. Attack in him, bro was a tank. Now let’s go through it all again
Dont forget shineys are actually usefull. They give you a luck stat which gives a higher chance of good items. There are also 3 rarity's of shineys: yellow < blue < red
What i have learned is those pokemon in the starter menu with the purple border are a must to start the game. It gives you pokerus and you gain exp easier thats how you can raise 2-3 pokemon to start the game instead of one. Also getting a mon that does not evolve to carry early game is worth it like stonjourner who did great work start to finish for my winning run.
I randomly got manaphy before my 4th or 5th run, and he had freeze-dry It and indeedee ( with matcha-gotcha from the egg) literally soloed me to round 145 It why I love roguelikes But also this game is just what i wanted for so long I can make a team of my favourite Pokémon from different gens! And the fact that this game has dna splicers really caught me off guard, because I really love Pokémon: infinite fusions too!
I was just rewatching your supersluggers video. Lucky for me, new Cole fact guy video! I didn't really love emerald rogue so I wasn't going to play this one, but I might give it a shot now
@@ColeTheFactGuy I've been low key addicted mr.Fact Guy. I'm just climbing out of the low runs. My furthest is floor 36 which means I still got a lot to go. Swellow was carrying, but I tried to focus on catching a pokemon and got major punished. The game also keeps kind of crashing on my Labtop :( I'm not a huge fan on rogue likes but this one clicks. Edit: OOOOO I just got an Axew from the egg Gacha yeeaaahhh! THis game is addicting
I think what I don’t like about the game is when I face a boss thats got a stupidly high bst for where you are in the game Edit: For example Lvl 30 archaludon, steel dragon typing, SIX HUNDRED BST in the ground section.
I beat the game in my 3rd real attempt, ( by this I mean going further than round 60 ) by using a good early game mon, and dunking all my resources on a late game mon.
What I am hearing is play like I did when I was five and just spam a single mon the whole run. STAT BUFFS DON'T RESET why even biff more than 1 mon at that point.
Yeah with each health bar he loses he gets a buff or 2. His other moves are cross poison and recover. I forgot to mention how stupid it is he has recover
Well you do actualy get something else for beatin etatnuatus More tickets Specifically you get i belive a 5 pull ticket it might be a 10 pull ticket for every party member you have but they cant get that again its once per mon but still more pulls means more mons and that means more fun
Eternatus is either very easy or very hard. I struggled my way through the rival battle after several retries. I clicked "Spore" during the second phase and just fucking wiped the man. He just...he wasnt strong. Super effective moves from him even when buffed did less damage than the rivals bullshit. His eternabeam was less dangerous than normal attacks from one of the rivals standard pokemon. It's a disappointing boss because how can you make a single entity in a turn based game hard? Its either tanky as hell, kills you instantly, or both. Or its disappointingly easy.
Yeah, I definitely had more trouble with the Ivy final fight than Eternatus which honestly makes sense considering how limited you can design single boss fights in Pokémon. I just kept dragon pulsing him with archaludon while he kept hitting my other Pokémon and he just died. It was definitely an underwhelming boss but I think it was well done enough for what it’s worth.
I have this game for multiple runs I still don't get it. I tried doing research couldn't find any body explaining how this is fun I now know it's not fun.
I got finally a good team and great run with legit 0 problems and then at level 180 that stupid Brock wanneby Grant came and fucked my hole team! Man I hate him now. So if you get to a high level balance your team out so your one counter for a type is not your weakest teammember.
Luckily almost of the bad has been weeded out. Though I won't lie, when that stuff came out I heavily debated taking this down. I love this game, I wanted people to play it. But the idea that I could be adding fuel to such a hateful fire scared me. The changing of the devs helped, and ultimately most if not all of what I said here I still mean. But I do not even a tiny bit support the beliefs of the original head developer
They have also updated it now so that if you beat a classic run with a pokemon it gives it a ribbon and every unique mon you beat classic with is 5 egg pulls
Same with the candies you can gain sum via friendship in battles
Building up your starter dex lets you consistently take advantage of Pokerus (cycles every day) to help offset the EXP. curve
Wait the pink border is pokerus?!
@@mistereiswolf70yes it gives you increased exp gain

Give me your father's email address
This isnt a rom… its a webgame..
Thanks for talking about the candies, not a lot of youtubers do and most players just skip over about them.

I'd definitely say with egg moves and the right TMs Garchomp is probably better, but Excadrill is fantastic right out of the box
Shoutout to brownmoose and OreoCupcakes, for being in every Daily Rankings Top 10 pretty much every day.

welp, guess I have another Pokémon fangame to play now

Very different games, and both are free, so outside of having time to play they're super accessible

Machacham best nonlegend fusion
Oh yeah here’s a tip for the rival fights, make sure to set up stealth rock!
You do also get candies after the mon gets a certain amount of kills so you can just do throwaway runs to get candies
Note:I'm a f**king idiot
No worries buddy like I said in the video it was added after I recorded my script
What I am hearing is play like I did when I was five and just spam a single mon the whole run. STAT BUFFS DON'T RESET why even biff more than 1 mon at that point.
Eternatus stacks buffs?
Bro only used Flamethrower and Dynamax cannon both times i fought him, what other moves does it have
Yeah with each health bar he loses he gets a buff or 2. His other moves are cross poison and recover. I forgot to mention how stupid it is he has recover
Im sorry but what are some of the newest pokemon designs. Like that scuffed Raikou. C'mon dude 🤣 They really can't get worse
I lost on round 180 with a latios mesprite fusion 😊 gotta regrind.

average non-gambling addict take
Like this comment to balance the eternatus fight or yknow just get rid of it all together

This did not age well
For context the lead dev was transphobic and there was a lot of transphobia and racism in the discord server

more like a Belongs-In-The-Trash-terpiece
I'm so sorry with the thumbnail I couldn't not
To be fair I almost called the video "Pokerogue is both Bold AND Brash"
