1:09:51 I spent forever on the shooting range getting top scores… and was rewarded with low quality charms for high tokens and repeat charms…. I can’t tell you how frustrated I was after turning them in. Worst part is you can’t save scum the RNG. If you reset and turn in the tokens again after a reload you get the same charms. I mean the least they could have done would be prevent duplicate charms until you’ve gotten them all once…..Especially since the tokens from the shooting range are limited per run. Meaning you can’t farm out the better charms even with bad RNG because you have a very limited number of chance. That makes common rarity charms for high score tokens and especially duplicates feel absolutely awful. Duplicate RNG protection is a quality-of-life feature that most single player games with RNG content like this have implemented these days.
The fact that Saddler in the OG was so goofy and non-chalent made him actually memorable. He had everything I would actually hate as person lmao, even if he was nice person.
There's also the fact that old Saddler is essentially a snake-oil salesman hiding behind the guise of religion/cult, something that's sadly missing with the remake.
I think that Krauser in the remake sounds more like an evil, maniacal power hungry psycho that has lost all grip on his own sanity as a result of being driven insane after the incidents of Operation Javier. Where as in the original he sounds more like a cold blooded cunning killer where you can tell he’s become fully desensitised but confident in what he wants and what his goals are and lacks all humanity he once had, I like both to be honest and I wouldn’t note it as much of a downgrade.
48:48 There's a good reason why you don't finish that armored giant off properly. It's actually the exact same armored giant you face later on with Luis. If you look at its face, you can see that it still has the wound and broken mask you gave it earlier, making the somewhat random dual Gigante fight more climactic. A small correction is that the two extra attaché cases are not actually sold with the Deluxe DLC. They were pre-order bonuses, so there is no way to get them now if you don't already have them. Personally, I don't really agree with your criticism regarding Krauser. The voice is one thing, but his characterization fits his new context. His calm and collected demeanor in the original fits his status as a mercenary working to infiltrate Los Iluminados for Wesker. In the remake, he's a veteran clearly undergoing some kind of PTSD from what he witnessed in Operation Javier, thanks to losing almost all of his men and being effectively discarded by the goverment he fought for. Him falling to the thrall of Saddler makes just as much as sense as him working for Wesker, since he was desperately trying to cling to anything that would give his life meaning again, which is the exact kind of person that cults are known to recruit and exploit.
@@yikes6969 Funny thing about that is that this was no misinformation at the time of writing. The two attaché cases were indeed pre-order-only bonuses when the game was released. The option to buy them was only added later on.
For those who are waiting H2R, he already said that he will continue after this wonderful video that took a lot of hours to do , understand that one of the favorite Ruby's games is RE4 and this is so speacially for him to do and talk about his first RE. Stay calm brothers. The Great Journey is near. So for now, enjoy the video :).
Hey Ruby another thing about the Regenerators in RE 4 Remake they made them even tougher to fight. I remember in OG it was possible to kill them without the inferred scope though it wasted a lot of bullets. When I played the remake i was so scared of the regenerators that when I entered the fridge I didn't know what to do and I was trapped with the regenerator and I wasted all my bullets on it and I still didn't die. I ended up using my knife until I died. I was surprised Capcom did that it makes them scarier and thougher to fight and it gives you more reason to get the inferred scope.
Tip for New Game plus. Equip Krauser's knife when going against the Regeneradors. Make sure you've upgraded its damage quite a bit, and just watch the knife destroy them, lol.
I'm also upset that Code Veronica was skipped, but I must admit that Capcom did an excellent job remaking a classic video game that didn't really need to be remade in the first place. My only issue with the new RE4 is that the U-3 was entirely removed, but there's a good chance it will appear in the Separate Ways DLC, so that sole complaint will likely be rectified soon enough.
Yeah my thoughts exactly. I do hope Code Veronica does get the remake treatment in the future since it was never released on PC or any consoles post the 6th generation (which the Dreamcast and PS2 were a part of), and is an important/significant part of the Resident Evil lore/story IMO. Also though I'd love to see Capcom remake + revive Dino Crisis.
@@JG004-kk1do CV didn't sell poorly though; it sold around three million units, which isn't that far below the original RE3. RE5 is the highest selling game in the series though, so Capcom will likely remake it next.
This was a wonderful breakdown of the remake and it's place in the series! I don't consider myself an RE fan, but you made me care so much about all the little things a diehard fan would!
Something I've noticed, the crosshairs don't bloom outward when moving your cursor in the Mercenaries mode, only doing so while moving. So they exclusively added it to the story mode, and it pretty much makes every weapon more difficult to use, with the exception of shotguns and rifles, but really drives the SMGs and Pistols into the dirt. Not sure why they chose to do this, it really did a lot to make the game more frustrating.
I do think the game has a few pacing issues due to the removal/reworking of a few sections. But overall I think this is the best remake Capcom has ever done. I never knew about the beatles. 18 years I’ve been playing RE4, never knew they existed.
the issue stems from lacking the "stay in place" options and she end up getting in the way sometimes. another issue people had was ada voice preformence, wich her response was its white men complaining insted of taking it as feedback like any respectable person would.
@@BloodKitten_ That's on you. Either hide her in rooms with hiding places or keep her behind you. The few times she got captured, I had no problem of saving her because she was still close to me.
id rathwr leave her with the merchant and do my thing, she doesnt help in anyway at least pixk up coins or ammo, she got a little helpful in the second half then disappeared that was fun but also annoyed me i hate back tracking in stories and we were separated one too many times
Generally speaking, what most people consider QTEs are button prompts appearing in cutscenes that, if missed, often kill you. The RE4 Remake doesn't have what most consider QTEs. It simply has contextual actions. The closest thing to a QTE that it retains from the original game would be stabbing Del Lago in the mouth. It might be a different scene, but its functionally identical to swimming back to the boat, since both scenes occur by Del Lago biting the boat. I don't agree with calling any and all button prompts QTEs, especially since the fast majority of RE4 Remake's contextual actions are evasions. The same action, always also using the same *single button.*
22:41 I absolutely love that you mention the shit takes like "RE4's boulder run wasn't classic RE." People really want to pretend the ogs never had action and launch criticism haphazardly. I seen one complaining about the knife fight but I'm like, did you forget code veronica's intro and wesker battle alone?
I love all the RE content the games have brought me, such as videos like this. They’ve tied things together and have explained the story more. I never really cared about the story much, but I’ve learned so much lately. Have been playing since 96 as a scared little boy.
Easily the best review of RE4R, highlighting it's noticeable improvements, expansions and little details but also pointing out the shortcomings, missed opportunities and things the OG did better, but at the end of the day it's an excellent remake that is recommendable alongside RE4 OG to have a deeper appreciation for both in what they do best. 1:21:24 This is something that only Capcom of America does, Japanese Capcom has had consistency with the voice actors since the franchise was ever given a JP Voice over. The only recast they have ever done was replacing Jin Yamanoi as Leon from Degeneration to Toshiyuki Morikawa from ORC and beyond. Hirouki Touchi(Chris) Atsuko Yuya(Jill) Jôji Nakata(Wesker) Junko Minagawa(Ada) And Yuko Kaida as your girl (Claire) have been there since their first debut as these characters The former Three started out in Marvel Vs Capcom 3 while the latter two started in ORC and Degeneration respectively(Which is quite ironic since just like Allyson court before she got replaced JP Claire remains as the longest running RE voice actor)
Hi Ruby, glad to see you’re doing well. I can’t watch the video yet because I’m still making my way through the game myself. I can’t wait to watch the full thing, though!
I'm what you'd call a noob youtuber just starting out I also made an RE4 remake review but I gotta admit you put way more time into this than I was ever gonna want to on this game and that deserves some recognition Good video!
I think the concepts they wanted to avoid with qte’s was them being immediate fail states that your forced to make. The qte’s in the remake all stem from things that you are trying to do to preform additional actions or as a last ditch effort if you’ve already reached some other fail state in the game.
RE4's Remake was done by the same team that did the RE2 Remake, which was a good call cause of how much was revisioned but stayed true to the original games source
I think re5 remake is an inevitably, because of wesker at the end basically confirming re5 and seperate ways i think will expand on re5 and also if you see on the screen when they first show wesker, they show the flowers under ground from re5 and excella so i think they'll make an re5 remake
Im not sure how are they gonna approach RE5 with their remake, seems so diferent and far away from the more Serious and horror tone the remakes tries to have... Even the first hours of RE5 the setting are bright and even colorful. And this was the first game people really started to feel uncormfortable with the franchise direction. Lets see.
The difference with the QTEs, is they removed the cutscene-only ones but kept the gameplay ones, which are two entirely different beasts. Cutscene QTEs suck balls, and most fans dislike them, while gameplay QTEs are much more accepted.
Yeah reason cutscene QTEs suck is because you dont expect them as its a cutscene, you not expecting them causes you to habe a death you didn't wven know off causing frustration, but gameplay ones are fine, but also gotta remember that the Vaas bossfight in farcry 3 was a QTE boss fight instead if an actual one which is why QTEs have bad rep
36:17 I kind of agree on the point, but not on the example. When I first played through this opening section, I heard the rumbling and didn't think much of it, just the usual weird noises in a dark room to make it feel more creepy... right? But as soon as Leon said the line I felt shiver running down my spine and I knew I was fucked.
i'm more annoyed people want another remake of resident evil 1 I don't know why fix camera and tank control have been seen as this thing that gets despised on
So basically, it does a lot of things well, but still no dice on being a proper definitive option. Remakes and remasters are truly a weird beast. One would assume just keeping the cows in the barn would be the easier part of the process, but appearently not. Even great 1:1 releases somehow manage to exclude stuff for very lacking reasons.(Like how Kirby's return to dream land deluxe cut out the better minigame from OG because "it did not fit the vision behind the new ones", which is...aw hell nah, wtf. It was literally fine and the only thing they would have had to do for it to not stand out was to seperate the old ones from the new ones, which also ironically would have solved another unrelated issue surrounding minigames they newly added)
I do hope the voice actor for Ada has some better directing for the seperate ways dlc. Cause I like her voice, just her deliver sounds more bored than anything. It's more of a directing issue than actor issue. And I hope she's doing well after the bullying from trolls on twitter
She sounds exactly like someone like her would sound like, though. Stellar job, but harrassed by has beens who can't tell the difference between good and nostalgic to save their lives.
31:14 let me just say, I managed to kill both Dr. Salvador's on Professional difficulty. It took me over six hours to complete and I was using standard guns, no New Game+. I discovered a bunch of random stuff while going througg the village section: If you kill the roaming woman villager she has a chance of dropping a ruby. Even at the start of the game, you can get a spinel from the chests. The mosts I got from the village were two. It's best to not convert gunpowder to pistol ammo during the fight and instead opt for shotgun rounds against Dr. Salvador. I have a run on my channel if anyone wants to see it.
I'm glad that out of the 3 modern remakes of Resident evil we had re4make turned out better then the last 2 even if it also suffered some stuff that it carried over from the other 2 remakes a little but yeah like you said despite that and despite how well it was made resident evil 1 remake is the closest thing to the best re remake we can get And re4make does have the right to exist as a remixed love letter to the original game I can also agree with to And i also still hope code veronica can get a remake to for obvious reasons to and i also hope that they'll atleast try to give it the same treatment as re1make legitimately but who knows and if not hope they'll still improve the gameplay
Nice review. The one thing that I fully disagree with is about Krauser. I got the same opinion as Bawkbasoup about his voice. And... I will take all the Operation Javier references over him working for Wesker and trying to restore Umbrella ANY day of the week!
@@RubyofBlue There ARE some theories that he's still working for Wesker though. Like. There's a little radio thing in his ear during in his first encounter but none in the second. Maybe this time he did a better job at hiding his plan?
I have not yet played the RE4 Remake myself, since I want to wait and see how the “Separate Ways” expansion turns out. But I do have some thoughts on the new Krauser so far. I think the added Operation Javier references would, if anything, make Krauser having an allegiance with Wesker all the more logical. I recall his monologues in The Darkside Chronicles revealing that he specifically wanted to seek out Wesker for power, especially after witnessing Manuela Hidalgo’s power from the Veronica Virus. Granted, I find it odd how both versions of RE4 seem to have Krauser willingly infecting himself with a Dominant Plaga. I currently think it would suit his character and mutated design better, if he was empowered and later transformed, instead by a virus Wesker gave him. In turn, his motivation could have been written as him wanting to return the “favor”, by feigning allegiance to Saddler in order to acquire a Plaga sample for Wesker.
I'm so glad you enjoyed this remake! I agree with most of what you said in this video(and almost all of your thoughts in the 2 and 3 remake reviews) but I disagree with what you said about a Code: Veronica remake. They won't remake it as faithfully as this or the 3 remake. It may be my favorite Re game ( and I am a younger fan of the series) but even I can admit that it wasn't popular and capcom isn't a company that would take risks like that. also modern politics and all. What you said about it being stuck on older platforms was also incorrect because it was ported to PS 4 and is on PS 5 . if they were to remake it as faithful as the 4 remake ( which they most likely won't)I would be happy.
I'm pretty sure that the second El Gigante doesn't actually die on the castle walls. He shows up in the mines for the Double El Gigante fight. I'm gonna have to disagree on a few points, one being about the cut Separate Ways not being an issue. Yeah the game originally for the Gamecube didn't have that and only available in the PS2 port but what version of the game has been re-released since the original? Not the original, the PS2 port has been the mainstay for the past 18 years of rereleases of the game. So Separate Ways being cut and possibly sold to us separately is not okay and tantamount to the microtransactions and that is a point against the game for me. And secondly, your regard on Ada's and Krauser's voices and characters. Ada's voice actress phoned in her performance which really hurt the character and Kruaser's voice is relatively fine for the remake but his character is a lot more fleshed out than what you give him credit for. Instead of being a lackey for Wesker, he has his own motivation for joining Saddler's cult, a motivation that also expands on his relationship with Leon and Leon himself.
The original separate ways was terrible. You just ran through the same levels again backwards. Now we got the Separate Ways DLC and most of it was better than the original by far. $10 was dirt cheap too
I'd say that the only qte's people have a major issue with are the cutscene ones where most people wouldn't expect to still be playing. In action button prompts are different to qtes i think.
Fun fact, the armored el gigante during the twin el gigante fight was the one that you fought on the castle battlements, he just fell all the way down(somehow?)
The Spinel mechanic kinda sucks because let's be honest having 2 separate currencies just makes the game more annoying. If it isn't broken don't fix it imo. Yet I feel like the "kidding me" lines are more like aging boomer script writers who don't know what else to put in RE games.
Loving the remake and came in with super low expectations but yeah, unlike RE1 remake it doesn't make the original kinda obsolete. I'll probably play this one and the original about the same frequency depending on which one I'm in the mood for. If there's one thing I miss most, it was a setpiece in the castle with huge open windows and billowing curtains as a group of cultists in formation all carrying scythes all slowly walk forward toward you. Such a cool scene and a missed moment. Not crazy about the random staggers either, went in playing standard difficulty despite clearing the original on professional on every platform every year or so since release. Had to adapt fast to this new loop and still got humbled a lot. I'll try it on pro next and should be a blast but also kinda want to jump straight back to the original for a fresh comparison. Now here's hoping Capcom picks the most obvious and needed remake next - RE3. Fix it, expand it, whatever it takes before tackling another game. I hate to say it, but despite being burned and the bad principle, I'd so drop money on a deluxe rerelease if they circled back to RE3 and ya know, finished it the way they should have the first time.
1:41:38 Rebecca asking you if you want her to tag along is still present in the Remake and they added a choice for Barry, asking you to give his gun back. The helipad reveal area isn't just the only thing they removed, that entire area with a statue push "puzzle" was removed from the remake; it was where you'd get the first MO disc. That whole area was converted to be a boss arena with the second fight with the giant snake, which used to be in a sort of dancing hall. It'd then make a hole in the ground, revealing a secret entrance to a hallway via tombstone ladder. That entire section of the mansion was completely repurposed, as in the original, this served plot-wise to put doubt in the player as to whether Barry is betraying you or not. He comes in right after the fight and helps Jill down the hole with a rope, which he unintentionally drops, but he says he's rushing out to get another one. At this point, the game returns control to the player, so you can just continue from that point. However, if you decide to wait, Barry does come back with another rope, and gives you the code to a keypad on a 2nd floor door in the mansion, which is otherwise inaccessible. That is a substantial thing to remove in the remake!
The cutting of sections was really not necessary. Everything you cut could have been someone's favorite segment, if you are going to remake something it should be adding, not taking away.
My thoughts on the Resident Evil Remakes: 1) Resident Evil Remake (2002) is still the Gold Standard for Video Game Remakes even after 21 years. It doesn't need to be remade again as the game still holds up. 2) Resident Evil 2 Remake (2019) is Amazing as a game but has missed potential as a remake. 3) Resident Evil 3 Remake (2020) is decent as a game but fails in terms of being a remake which is disappointing. 4) Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023) I didn't ask for a remake of the game, but I'm impressed with what we got, even if it doesn't top RE1R. I personally letdown that RE2 and RE3 couldn't have gotten the treatment RE1 got with its remake especially since RE2 and RE3 had the potential to be better games and even remakes than RE1R. Also, what are your thoughts on Resident Evil Village?
honestly i think the ramon name change was just because of how similar the names salazar and saddler are . typically when writing a story you don’t want characters with very similar sounding names because it can get confusing
53:10 I think the discrepancy is context actions, while a form of qte, isn't often considered qte by a majority of players as it doesn't interrupt gameplay like qte cutscenes and don't instantly end the game. So under the most accepted description they have removed almost all qtes, and cutscene qtes are not seen as tasteful anymore because cutscenes are meant to be a rest moment where that type is intrusive and can easily annoy a player
I pretty much mostly agree with your points and yeah RE4R is incredible and as someone who while loved RE4 OG but could never quite love love it ,RE4R actually felt like a better experience for me personally and yes i agree i don't think 1 or 5 onwards needs remaking and CV or Outbreak or even 0 should maybe be next to be remade. I know we've had disagreements in the past btw when talking about the past two RE makes but I wanna make it clear that your videos are really well done even if we don't quite see eye to eye on all things 👍
I actually replayed re4 after re4make and the remakes teaching me of how to better use the knife and replacing the it fight with a k!ife only krauser fight... Made the original re4 Krause fight ironically easier for me when my first run and my first re4make run massively leaving me with literally nothing after the ruins encounter. Kinda hilarious
40:20 I'm guessing you didn't realize you could hide her in a locker. Also, I really don't know what universe you've been living in when the original came out if near perfect Remake Ashley is the bad one, and absolute worst part of RE4 original Ashley was good.
Just to complement 2 things: 1) i assume the infinite red9 is Luis's, in the cart bit and he handed you cuz you shoot better then him, a scoentist 2) the El Gigante that falls from the castle's wall is the same armored pne you fight with Luis (because of the damaged eye he had, from the cannon shot)
A random thought I had when you mention the banter between Saddler and Salazar with Leon, and how there's still the speakers throughout the castle. That to me, feels like a missed opportunity for those moments from the OG to be implemented into the remake. For example, have some speakers down in the water depths and as you're crawling through like normal and we get the "Your right hand comes off?" That could be how we know something's after us, and be more of a build up to Verdugo. With the Island, there are plenty of places for random speakers for Saddler to talk to him (Even in the Village too). Just something I had thought of.
I think almost everything besides the radio tower that was removed from the main game, Ada encounters in Separate Ways. Also I figure that they removed boulders and the lasers and whatnot due mostly to the fact that the Remake doesn't have QTEs at all similar to the OG. Which honestly, I prefer. I've never enjoyed cutscenes suddenly deciding they are actually gameplay and I'm dead now because I was enraptured and not ready with my controller in hand.
I think you do great work and idk how you don’t have many times the amount of subscribers. But there is a small point of contention for me…while I wasn’t in love with new Krauser’s VA, I almost thought you were half trolling when you bashed his right after defending Ada’s. Ada sounding disinterested is just the tip of the iceberg. To me her voice is incredibly jarring and breaks immersion like Stone Cold’s entrance theme. It just *feels* like that voice could not come from that face. Also, taking salazar’s hat and making his face an old woman was quite jarring too. It’s nuts how the bad guys got worse while the food guys got better. I especially love Luis, and him blessing himself before his rounds in mercenaries is a true chef’s kiss. Of course I wish the ballistics remained but, alas
One of the charms, the “Striker” charm, giving you +8% movement speed is a nod to Ditman333 using an exploit found in the GameCube exclusive copy of the game that gave you a 50% speed boost that could be repeated throughout the game to make Leon a speed demon.
Cutting content is hardly being faithful. You gave the last remake flak for cutting content and yet here you are singing this game's praises, even though it cut basically 1/3 of it's content.
@@JoseViktor4099 In the original, all of that (including the complete roster for the Mercenaries mode) was there at day one, aside from Separate Ways. For a triple A company in 2023 to be cutting corners like that whilst expecting you to pay extra, it's unacceptable.
@@homegrown6845 Eh, this is not true in the OG. Separate Ways was included *after* the release of RE4 OG for consoles in a way to tell "Buy the same game again!, There is new stuff in the new version!" For me this is not much diferent, don't you think? I prefer DLC than buying a whole game again, and well , separate ways is very similar to "Not a Hero " or that Rose DLC to let It past.
@@JoseViktor4099 Take note of when I said "aside from Separate Ways" from that 'day one' remark. Those console re-releases were to broaden the game's availability across platforms and maybe provide quality-of-life improvements. Not everyone had a Gamecube back then, nor would they be willing to buy one just for a single game. But I do agree with you saying that re-releases were made to make extra money, it's insane what they did with Skyrim. The same would apply to RE4, but I think it was done at a lesser extent. The point I made is that you almost always get what you pay for back then. Here, you usually buy unfinished products at full price.
I have super-glued my butt into the chair. I have my large bucket of popcorn and a tub of soda right next to me. I will watch the analysis video now. The reticle acceleration is an absolute must the only thing that sucks is it's setting has to be done from the main menu in game it's locked essentially to what it's set in I'm the main screen menu,so a bit of trial and errorzit does help for sure though not to point of being broken,in hardcore and professional the snap and fallow seems to be disabled, however just being able to get the floating radical to actually tighten faster in any sense is always better
When it comes to the hardcore bit don't think it's tuned to people that played og re4 its tuned to people that played the other remakes (least I assume they play similar haven't actually played them myself so it took a decent chunk of time getting used to mostly the shooting and the fact a headshot isn't an automatic stagger)

RE1 remake is 21 years old and did this so called impossible thing and frankly did it way better while being %100 faithful to its origins. The state of modern gaming where this ( RE4 remake ) is lauded as good enough. This didn't need a remake, but you know what does need a remake Code-Veronica. The reason we got this safe remake is because it would be to much hard work for the poor souls at Capcom otherwise and modern gaming has an alergic reaction when it comes to taking actual risks. Plus the average gimp gamers today equate a old, outdated not very popular entry as bad remake material, despite that being the best case scenario for one to improve on those weakness, not this.
RE4 Remake was my first ever time playing RE4, i found certain moments with Ashley to be flat out annoying. times where she gets grabbed and i can't get to her because i'm being stun locked by constant staggers. one time all i had to do was turn a corner to finally make it to her, but right as i was about to do that the kidnap bar was complete and played the cutscene of her being taken away like wtf i was RIGHT THERE ABOUT TO SAVE HER. other times where she got incapacitated and hit by a stray hatchet throw to kill her. i found her to be either frustrating to play around, and other times enjoying her company you also mentioned at around 49:00 having to use the trap to kill a El Gigante but thats not true as i didn't even know you could do that until after the fight ended. i killed the none armored one without that

You can buy the attache cases. No need to spread false info, we have plenty of that.
@@yikes6969 Funny thing about that is that this was no misinformation at the time of writing. The two attaché cases were indeed pre-order-only bonuses when the game was released. The option to buy them was only added later on.
1:29:30 This cutscene seems like a response to anyone who watched the original cutscenes thinking "He's right there! Just friggin' shoot him."
Love that moment in the game 😂
@@runbaa9285 I'll try it out. Thanks for the tip
Well, with the release of separate ways now we know where most of that cut or unexplained missing content went.

@@Yeshua_is-Cool indeed, but what surprises me is that it's just like RE3 remake in lenght at 1/6 of the price, but it is still scummy.
I didn't miss U-3 in the Remake. In the original game it feels like an out of context boss fight.

I never understood the hate for Ashley, people shoot her by accident then scream that it's her fault.
Once you get her armor she’s like one of the best weapons in the game lol
the issue stems from lacking the "stay in place" options and she end up getting in the way sometimes.
another issue people had was ada voice preformence, wich her response was its white men complaining insted of taking it as feedback like any respectable person would.

This is something that only Capcom of America does, Japanese Capcom has had consistency with the voice actors since the franchise was ever given a JP Voice over. The only recast they have ever done was replacing Jin Yamanoi as Leon from Degeneration to Toshiyuki Morikawa from ORC and beyond.
Hirouki Touchi(Chris)
Atsuko Yuya(Jill)
Jôji Nakata(Wesker)
Junko Minagawa(Ada)
And Yuko Kaida as your girl (Claire) have been there since their first debut as these characters
The former Three started out in Marvel Vs Capcom 3 while the latter two started in ORC and Degeneration respectively(Which is quite ironic since just like Allyson court before she got replaced JP Claire remains as the longest running RE voice actor)
Hi Ruby, glad to see you’re doing well. I can’t watch the video yet because I’m still making my way through the game myself. I can’t wait to watch the full thing, though!
I'm what you'd call a noob youtuber just starting out
I also made an RE4 remake review but I gotta admit you put way more time into this than I was ever gonna want to on this game and that deserves some recognition
Good video!
im still impressed they managed to make ada less skimpy but more fetishized lol
I think the concepts they wanted to avoid with qte’s was them being immediate fail states that your forced to make. The qte’s in the remake all stem from things that you are trying to do to preform additional actions or as a last ditch effort if you’ve already reached some other fail state in the game.
This is exactly what I was hoping for. Hyped!
The TMP shooting range stage nearly broke me.
4:40 Code Veronica is available on PS4 (and by extension PS5) as well as XB1 + Xbox X/S… it was also available on ps3 and 360
I hope we get the U3 fight at separate ways but it would be awesome if we can get a ada vs wesker fight as well
No, that wouldn't make sense (the latter one).

If you kill the roaming woman villager she has a chance of dropping a ruby.
Even at the start of the game, you can get a spinel from the chests. The mosts I got from the village were two.

Nice review. The one thing that I fully disagree with is about Krauser. I got the same opinion as Bawkbasoup about his voice. And... I will take all the Operation Javier references over him working for Wesker and trying to restore Umbrella ANY day of the week!
why not both?
@@RubyofBlue You can't win em all man. Plus that whole "Restoring Umbrella" never goes anywhere in RE5 so it's kinda pointless.
@@RubyofBlue hi you can dodge a grab by crouching in fact the brutes you can crouch to dodge
$10 was dirt cheap too
@@mattmas6628 Okay and? It's still cut content that's being resold to us. Please do try again.
I think for the retrospect you need to review RE1 OG and the Remake for comparison.
What is this, some kind of comments section? You gotta be kidding me.
Never noticed how overused that had gotten.
I'd say that the only qte's people have a major issue with are the cutscene ones where most people wouldn't expect to still be playing. In action button prompts are different to qtes i think.
your sentence makes no sense.
Been waiting for this.
I agree about the spinels it's definitely more annoying to me
Yeah, fucking up a sure bet should be impossible, but I've learned to never underestimate the depths that modern gaming will sink to.
Loved those extremely low FPS streams lol
Kinda feel like nothing was lost though.
They cut sections that were goofy, or not that fun.
There... THERE WAS AN AUTO SORT?! I never knew and never used it, not even on accident lmaoooo
37:03 Look on the bright side, at least that fucking red bolt cutter from the last four games since RE7 hasn’t reappeared in the latest remake.
My thoughts on the Resident Evil Remakes:
1) Resident Evil Remake (2002) is still the Gold Standard for Video Game Remakes even after 21 years.
No I did it's just she kept coming out without being told to >_>
I've never had a single instance of original ashely being in danger that diddnt feel like my fault. I cannot say the same for remake ashley
Just to complement 2 things:
1) i assume the infinite red9 is Luis's, in the cart bit and he handed you cuz you shoot better then him, a scoentist
2) the El Gigante that falls from the castle's wall is the same armored pne you fight with Luis (because of the damaged eye he had, from the cannon shot)
Lets go! Ruby!!! Ruby!!! Ruby!!
One of the charms, the “Striker” charm, giving you +8% movement speed is a nod to Ditman333 using an exploit found in the GameCube exclusive copy of the game that gave you a 50% speed boost that could be repeated throughout the game to make Leon a speed demon.
I knew you would do that

I dont feel like watching, however I feel like this video could use a better thumbnail (Im also burnt out on RE4 Remake content)
oof crazy that this is how i found out the case has an auto-sort button lol was struggling to carry a lot of junk
turn down the royalty free music please. Other than that, great video, maybe a little too fast paced but great points.
1:19:52 ''Ashley too is given much more room to be explored.''
ACHEM... does that mean Leon did go for the overtime?
RE4 Remake was my first ever time playing RE4, i found certain moments with Ashley to be flat out annoying. times where she gets grabbed and i can't get to her because i'm being stun locked by constant staggers. one time all i had to do was turn a corner to finally make it to her, but right as i was about to do that the kidnap bar was complete and played the cutscene of her being taken away like wtf i was RIGHT THERE ABOUT TO SAVE HER. other times where she got incapacitated and hit by a stray hatchet throw to kill her. i found her to be either frustrating to play around, and other times enjoying her company
you also mentioned at around 49:00 having to use the trap to kill a El Gigante but thats not true as i didn't even know you could do that until after the fight ended. i killed the none armored one without that
In the original she had a health bar and the genado had to walk through a green highlighted door
1:01:16 - Sad but true story that.. 😔
Yeah you're right about Sadler you can only see him at the very beginning verse seen him at the church
I got the Striker Charm on my first playthrough and didn't even know it was the rarest 💀
Yeah I disagree with Lily Gao sounding like Sally Cahill. Lily lacks that flirtatious femme fatale voice.
What footage was being shown at 2:27? Looks awesome as hell
