People can never be happy. If a remake isn't close enough to the OG, its souless. If it is too close to the OG, its a cash grab and the "OG didnt need a remake anyway." I think it s a genuinely good remake, follows the overall vision of the original but gives a satisfying different take.
I would say that Capcom didn-t had to make the OG less cheesy in any way. That is my biggest criticism and I fucking hate RE4 og. However, the cheesiness of that game is unadulterated Resident Evil.
And the gameplay is amazing so people who are complaining about ANYTHING that isn’t Ada’s voice actor is just a hater or troll bc they don’t like their own life.
Crowbcat is probably a 20 year old (give or take) who never played the original trilogy. Hell, I would say he's one of the "Re fans" who only like re 4 lol
One of the things i really liked about the remake is how they make leon look tired or anxious plenty of times, instead of being an action movie protagonist like in the OG. Examples: When they cage leon in the castle to kidnap Ashley. When you rescue Ashley in the island
I never understood that argument against the new Leon. Like...what do they even mean when they say they prefer the old one's personality ? He literally has no personality in the OG except for some hilarious one liners, which are also present in the remake. What is there to hate ? They made him feel more human, but he's even more of a badass now, parrying everything, even a damn chainsaw with his knife for example. I'm not lying when I say I genuinely have no idea how people hate his new personality.
Yeah, I love Leon in re 4 OG but it always felt weird when you look at Re 2 and Re 6's Leon versions. It's like they have different personality lol. The good thing about Re 2 and re 4 remake is that we have the same VA for Leon (and he is way more in tone with Leon from Re 6)
@jedley01 I get 2nd hand embarrassment when i see ppl saying "ReALisM yAsss" as then we have leon parrying a fukn chainsaw with a literal kitchen knife, backflip dodging scythes, jumping off mine carts to another platform with no momentum to physically do that. The level of imbecile consumers present in todays day and age is beyond shocking at this point jc 💀
Basically that video is just a highlight which parts in the OG that are better than in the Remake. If we reverse them, we can also find better parts in Remake than in OG. In the end, both have their own charm which won't make one of them "soulless".
lmao no.. theres nothing better about the remake, unless you like that CRINGE ass dance scene at the start with luis.. if thats your thing, you're beyond help.
@@MoronPluma its not about what I think is bad. its that they took an artistic creation, shat upon it then sold it to the new generation of dumbed down fish-brains(you) and now the original is forgotten. Its like the Mona Lisa being re-imagined as Nikocado Avacado doing a mukbang video on the toilet. yeah, there are "people" who think that its cool but overall, its an objective downgrade and the art is lost in translation. Imagine not understanding such a simple concept. you must be a vegan or something.
Even if the audio and visuals weren't manipulated, there are just so many scenes from the remake that Crowbcat choses not to show. > The fight with the chainsaw sisters (probably because Leon does that backflip and Crowbcat can't show remake Leon looking cool) > The Mendez chase scene like Bawk mentioned > Showcasing the water hall only when the music stops playing > The castle battlements area > He also doesn't show any of the mines area where Luis teams up with you, even in the double el gigante footage, it's almost like he made an effort to exclude Luis > The krauser knife fight (not the cutscenes, the actual fight where you have to use the knife manually) > The garrador fight > For some reason in the water hall, while showing combat, he makes an active effort to run past an enemy after stunning it and not kicking it, like you can see him actively avoiding the melee prompt (ig he can't show remake Leon doing cool roundhouses???) > The main Krauser fight (all he does his show the transformation cutscene, not you know.... the literal rest of the fight) > The scene where Leon shoots Salazar, causing him to transform > He also cuts off many scenes in the remake to suit his agenda. Example:- the scene with the Saddler boss where Leon says "I'll give you a holy body" and stabs him with his own staff, Crowbcat cuts the footage off just when the rocket hits Saddler Everybody's entitled to their own opinion. The problem arises when you use such dishonest and slimy methods (like literally ommitting footage) in order to convince the audience into thinking a certain way. Because of this, I believe that this was an incredibly disengenous comparison. Even if Crowbcat was right on 1 or 2 counts, it doesn't matter because of the means he used to compare the two games and that his overall goal was not to compare them, but cater towards the orginal in a biased way
I think that he didn't show the chainsaw sisters' fight specifically is not because of him not letting Remake Leon do anything cool but because it's an entirely optional fight in the original and a required fight in the remake. I think everything he shows is in both games and is similar in both and is required places and fights. The chainsaw sisters, I think, are the only optional fight in the OG game. The rest of your points, I agree with. Yes, he is making the remake look worse intentionally.
@@Yubl10 After the Cabin Holdout(which is thematically worse in the Original), you choose to either fight a bunch of Ganado and the Bella Sisters or just another single El Gigante but now in a long, narrow stretch. Most people pick the Bella Sisters because it's a more unique encounter, hence why they removed the choice in the Remake. Even then they didn't entirely remove that optional El Gigante, they moved it to Separate Ways for Ada to fight.
For some reason people also don't talk much about the opening scene, but there's a part before the ganado goes down in the basement and Leon questions him before kicking him in the face. It's so weird.
Look, it's ultimately a clickbait title, I'm pretty sure crowbcat would say that he doesn't *really* think that if you asked him. I have to agree with him that re4 has better art direction than the remake but i doubt many people would say the remake is bad, including crowbcat. seeing all these people be like "common crowbcat L" is just embarrassing
It should be a positive that the remake is on par with the OG while being different (even better in some scenes). Idk what the issue with this video is lmao
the issue is that it was titled "soul vs soulless", implying that the remake is soulless in addition to the video overall being unfair towards the remake due to some of the comparisons not making sense or just flat out cutting out scenes that could be compared from the remake
The Crowbcat 'comparison' is just straight up misleading at times, especially with the audio. People fighting over which one is better and I'm just sitting over here loving both ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The dishonesty of that video is off the charts. The uploader is more than entitled to their own opinion, even if that opinion is based on nostalgia bias or whatever. The horrible part is that they chose to deliberately frame the remake in the worst way possible in an effort to try and manipulate others into agreeing with their opinion, like they KNEW that presenting the argument objectively for the audience to form their own opinions wouldn't work for them. Shitty behaviour.
@@VergilHiltsLT I wouldn’t say the mixing but just the overall sound design in general doesn’t have the crazy “punch”. Original RE4 had this huge quiet-loud dynamic of quiet moments followed up by really loud punchy combat sound effects and a noisy, but not too loud soundtrack that adds dread
@@VergilHiltsLT I highly disagree, although I can't speak for other modern games. The issue with the video is that not only did crowbcat boost the audio of the original to the point of clipping for emphasis, but for the remake he clearly has the audio on a mix of: surround sound, 3D sound and high dynamic range, which does not fair well when compared to the more compressed audio of the original. high dynamic range is a good thing if you have quality headphones, or good speakers and can crank it, but by default anything that appears louder is going to sound better, even if it technically sounds worse. the audio in the RE Engine games is top notch and I say this as someone who does audio engineering.
@@xsx1113 I'm not talking about audio levels, I'm talking about SOUND DESIGN. How punchy the guns sound, footsteps, sound effects, not the loudness but the nature of the sounds. Two completely different things. I'm also talking about art direction, which the OG excels at, while Remake relies on super high fidelity graphics to create more detail, however the overall aesthetic look suffers because of this. It puts more emphasis on detail versus art. Color palette, object design, creative design of weapons, characters, proportions, etc. Also the voice acting in Remake is really bland. RE4 OG didn't take itself too seriously and had superb casting for every character. Call it "more realistic" in Remake, but that doesn't make it better when the character has no intonation in his voice, just the same monotone, if anything it sucks the fun out of the game. Krauser's voice and Ada in particular sound awful in Remake, and some voice lines are just tasteless. RE4 OG is by far the more entertaining game and gives the player time to rest in between dialogues. The audio quality itself is higher in the Gamecube/Wii versions of the OG. Later versions compressed it and removed certain SFX. I have Audio Technica M50X headphones BTW.
The best part of crowbcat vids are how people have mental breakdowns over side by side comparisons with no commentary, aka the most objective showcase you can do. Really highlights the consoooooomerism mentality demake fans have.
re2 remake lacked music in many parts and I feel you couldn't hear the music at all in most parts except the bangers we get at the escape route and final bosses. Is a very good game still tho.
Yeah I know we all have different opinions. RE2 (and RE3) originals are my 2 favorites in the series so you don't have to tell me lol but I still think RE2 Remake is a god tier 10/10.
@@Collin255 all good man, for me is a solid 9. If you could hear the music more and the differences in scenarios it’d def be a 10/10. I got all the achievements so you know how addicted I was to it.
I have mad nostalgia for the OG, but you can not say the Remake is bad, it's just braindead. Some aspects are better in each. Both can co-exist. Can't wait to go through this all over again with SH2
I've saw his video and it was so wrong that he must've mute the game because he showed the remake as disappointed and lacking what the og has, he made his video soulless, like iam just saying the truth about the video he made, also thank you for the contant and get Will.
Played both and I still think I prefer the remake over the original due to the story richness, character progression and it felt more realistic. I also love RE4 OG, like some of the cutscenes felt better in the OG but also sometimes felt weird. Although at first I think Ramon in OG is better, eventually the Remake one grew more and more for Me and feels like "Yeah this is a villain that make sense and not some kid that kept bantering". The only thing I was hoping for the Remake to have is the Ramon's statue chase sequence, It was dope for me as a kid playing the OG, but anyway I still believe both is good at their own directions and point of focus
People need to stop comparing OG to Remake, though i don't think that's possible. I loved OG for its time and that's what its there for, with all its praises back then ppl seem to forget how much it changed the gameplay for Capcom. Remake is absolute the best and honors OG at its best for modern fanbase. To me remake wouldn't be so loved and enjoyed if it wasn't for OG. A true RE fan will have much love for both of games ❤❤❤
One thing that bugs me about the spike pit scene on the remake is, where does the chain come from? It's not hanging from the roof above the hole and if it was nailed into the wall or something than it would be laying along it, not hanging down loosely around the centre of the hole.
If anything the soundtrack is exactly what makes Resident Evil more immersive. It sets the atmosphere and pulls you in. And on top of that, it is truly an artistic masterpiece. I’d take that any time over “realistic immersion”. If I want realistic I’ll go outside and touch grass, yeah that’s more immersive😂 Sorry I geek out on good soundtrack so not having it’s just not for me.
God that video was so disingenuous and dishonest. Crowbcat even tried to lie and say he didn't alter the visuals and audio, when it's insanely obvious that he did if you just simply boot your game up with default settings
All jokes aside I grew up with RE4 og and have been playing it for about 11 years now. I have about 280 hrs on the remake as well and I can confidently say that it is the better game. However I do think the og does have more personality. The UI, the ambiance and the horror aspect are better in my opinion. I actually think that's just what older games do as a whole. A lot of old games UI's have so much personality and creativity in it and when modern games create a UI its usually plain and boring now. Idk why things just happened that way but a part of me wishes for the fun UIs to come back.
No sexual stuff? Nah, Capcom still lowkey horny. Ada and Ashley have tight sweaters, their chests are pretty big and they have jiggle physics. This is the hottest version of Ada in the franchise and she's completely covered. My coomer brain still happy with RE4R. The only thing I genuinely don't like about the remake is that most of the cutscenes are just kinda boring compared to the original. The og had way better cinematography too.
@@Red_Sutter Yeah I understand that but it doesn't change the fact that most of them are incredibly dull to watch. Some stylized camerawork wouldn't have detracted from the serious tone RE4R had. Separate Ways did a better job with it's cutscenes than the main game did imo.
The funny thing about the "oh you pervert" thing is that in RE4R Ashley *will* react if you stare long enough. Of course the video doesn't show this because it's trying to be as disingenuous as possible.
Crowbcat decided to take a risk and not make a video where the majority of the public would already agree with him. It seems the video spoke for itself when everyone got mad and started slandering him about how he supposedly edited the audio to make it quieter.
yeah bawkba cried after i called him out for giving the remake 10/10 in sound design, he then claimed adas voice actor isn´t bad but that crowbcat edited it XD
Honestly, people coming from both sides of the argument are ridiculous. If someone does or doesn't like the OG or the remake, why does that affect how you feel about the game? How about letting people express their opinions, and you can agree or disagree with them?, either way im sure everybody is critical about the one or the other because they fundamentally like the franchise and not because they are "a hater"
Precisely this. And the thing that I think is most ridiculous is that people were going after Crowbcat for having a different opinion. If he thinks the remake is souless, who cares? (Apparently way too many people)
@@jamess854 yeah I don't get people that needs some kind of validation and think "indeed, my subjective opinion is the right one" like it matters anyways
@@Aurora_808 No, they weren't. They were going after him because they made up this bizarre conspiracy theory that he had altered the audio just because they were too childish and had to defend the remake at all costs. The remake is just mixed much quieter, it's as simple as that, and it can be heard by simply owning both games, switching between them and taking video captures.
I'll do the soul vs soulless video and only use wii gameplay vs super high end gaming PC for graphics, and for audio I'll be sure to record the wii gameplay at the lowest quality, most crushed audio I can, and get the most beautiful audio for the remake. You know, just to show how back RE4 not remake actually is. (In reality I hate these comparisons trying to act like these are the exact same games and not treating them like they're two separate entities)
4:37 I know Bawk likes this and me too, but the RE4 remake haters thinks that it is an atmospheric masterpiece when probably is just a stock wind sound and just loops after like 10 seconds lol is not that deep, its just a loud sound.
funny enough re4 was always called soulless by og fans and i agree its true. when you compare it to intimate in detailed REmake which came out before it. the game was a action arcade game for the masses where you kill what feels like thousands of enemies , yes its masterpiece but not it wasn't the genre of og resident evil
This my first time seeing this video ever with the "comparison" of RE4 Original VS RE4 Remake, and right away before Baka said anything I was like "Why is RE4R so weird looking" then Baka explained what everyone else was saying.. What a scummy thing to do honestly cause in my honest opinion RE4R is leagues better then RE2R which makes sense, Capcom learned a lot from RE2R and RE3R and RE4R seems to be what they've learned so far in doing remakes and I'm excited for which ever Remake comes next, be it RE:CVX Remake or RE5 Remake.
That video is so wild to me. I loved OG RE4 when I was younger. It was one of the first games I ever played multiple times though. It was certainly the first game I ever beat multiple times in one day, so I have tons of nostalgia for it. That being said, there are a lot of things that the remake did better. I like the overall atmosphere better. And as someone who has lived in a rural area, there are a lot of times where it is just dead silent outside. I think the person who made the video didn't consider that the absence of noise is a choice too and just feels that more sound = more sound design. But there are also things that are better for the time, like the sexualization stuff. I roll my eyes at that shit now. And it also works for the overall vibe of the game. Why would Luis, in the midst of all of this, be like "Oh, damn! Titties"? But there are also things that are lost from the OG. I think the boss transformations are a great example. There was an opportunity for real body horror in grim detail and they skipped it in the new one. And the look of the treasures was so vibrant in the OG where it isn't really in the new one. I think if there's a place to put some cartoonishness in the remake, it would be in how the jewels sparkle and how shiny a crown is. Both are amazing, but so different.
I enjoyed that they changed the accents to an actual spain accent with spanish voice actors. I'm from spain, and it irked me when I was younger, that they had latin-american accents. Now it honestly grew up on me, OG VA did a good job even if it isn't a spain accent, it fits the game very well. RE4R has a grittier and grounded feeling and it works. Though I understand that people may be annoyed about not being as faithfull.
this remake is soooo good. like everything you need from the og is there. you get so much content, things that were cut were just bad in the first place. its better recreated than RE2 remake. i was sad about losing the cringe factor in the remake, but its much more realistic and immersive this way.
Soul is when I play at 120% volume on my AirPods I genuinely believe people would benefit greatly from taking a step back sometimes and really thinking if blowing up small issues and calling things they don’t like awful is really a productive thing to do instead of just admitting it’s not for you/just not to your taste. Not everything you don’t like has to be objectively awful
It's a shame how bias the video was, there both arguably 10/10 imo, i do prefer the original a lot of the time because of nostalgia but the remake is objectively a better game and mercenaries is so fun in the remake, it's also really funny that they didn't include the minecart section, how expansive the lake is in the remake compared to the og and the shooting range.
A bit late, but it's this sense of elitism that some people such as Crowbat has. They think they're so much more sophisticated and smarter than you to have such an elite taste.

Re 4 remake is one of the few instances I prefer a remake over the OG. Of course is not perfect in some aspects but overall as a game I feel is better and I grew up with OG. Both are solid 10/10 games and an example of how a remake should have been done. Also Separate ways is 1000 times better in remake than in OG and I was glad the price of it was cheaper than I expected.
Unrelated to the topic but does anyone know the song Bawkbasoup plays at the end while looking at the comments and where it comes from? It's kinda bugging me rn cause I know I've heard it before...
What I find wierd about the video most is actually who the creator of this video was, Crowbcat. I've seen a lot of their videos and they're usually really good. Crowbcat is excellent at demonstrating and conveying the purpose of their video without the need of commentary. However, the RE4 soul vs soulless take is just awful. Probably the first video of theirs that easily shows just how bias they are to the original to the point that they purposely go out of their way to make RE4 Remake look/sound worse. The funniest thing about it though, is that it still demonstrates the purpose of the video; that Crowbcat believes that from the start, RE4 Remake was gonna be a low effort cash grab created by developers who didn't care for the original and had 0 passion. This video just demonstrates that Crowbcat still believes that.
The OG is nostalgic but they did an amazing job of the remake and cut out the worst parts. I think the remake is so much better and it makes it difficult to go back and play the OG.
This guy got exposed for editing the audio in the remake and bettering it in the original clips. This remake made me actually like RE4 a lot more then I did for the original. They definitely brought the best gameplan they could to 4. Wish they would of did the same with 3 and some of 2.
lol This whole "You're either this team or this team" is arbitrary. You like what you like. You can like one or the other or you can like both. There's always something you'll like or dislike from games you still enjoy. Let's all just love Resident Evil
RE4 remake is absolutely no way near soulless it is 100x better than the original by mile, the gameplay, graphics, sound and story and. RE4 remake has become my most no 1 favourite RE game and this is coming from someone who thought RE4 was so overrated and overhyped of all RE games, this RE4 remake blows the original out the water and honestly with this remake I don't think I ever touch and play the original again cause there is no doubt that RE4 remakes is 100% better in every way possible
When it came out i bought it and only played it for 4 hours, I have not touched it since and yeah this video was not out back then. It just felt more realistic and a lot less stylized, cool versus trying to be cool so I told myself never to just blindly get another re the moment it comes out without watching any spoilers or reviews of any kind again.
I'm right there with you, I got pretty far and just turned it off and put it up on ebay. I avoided everything and picked the game up day 1, made it to the Ramon fight and I couldn't bare it anymore. It really is like the remake is souless.
do you have any evidence crowbcats videos are altered? You said that about 500x in this video but I didn't see you bring any proof. I also noticed you were very quiet and quickly moved on when you couldn't use that excuse like at 29:34
There isn't any proof. People just couldn't take that crowbcat thought the remake was a bit soulless compared to the original. And there's nothing wrong with that. Imagine thinking that everyone has to agree with you. Complete hive mind, not unlike los illuminados.
@@jamess854 RE4 remake is undeniably a good game, but there is something to be said that modern games have lost some flair and edge that older games used to have. There's an interesting discussion to be had there if we look past the tribalism for a second.

Yeah that vid tries too hard. It's not so black and white. I do think the REmake fumbled a lot of things compared to the original, but I also think it's the best REmake of the bunch to date. Really enjoyed my time with it despite the issues. Also, I like Ada's new outfit (it's the best she's had since 4 OG) but to say it's better than the original? Just no. That dress IS Ada and really highlights the femme fatal that she's all about.
The debate surrounding looking up Ashley has become so toxic and people throwing the word "sexism" willy nilly. It's not about sexism, coomer brain or actually seeing Ashley's panties. Hell, the game is basically calling you a pervert to your face so deleting that little detail makes the game less sexist? It's no longer sexist, because the game doesn't call you out on it? It all goes back to Gabe Newell's quote: the game is reacting to your actions. Here I am looking around for items, treasures or maybe I just cleared the area and called for Ashley to get out of hiding. She shows up at the ladder and she reacts to the fact that the camera is pointing in the wrong direction - the game is reacting to your actions. Whereas in the Remake the game is ignoring you.
The most jarring part when it cuts to remake is the silence, every time. If you play remake with the Og soundtrack you get the best of both worlds. The remake soundtrack is mostly mute, it’s terrible. Gotta go with Of soundtracks. Same goes for RE2 remake.
It's almost like people are just catching up on how this is pretty much the entire way crowbcat make his videos! he did the same with gta4 and gta5 a few years ago lmao

Im right near the end of the remake as i beat the og this year (or late last year?) anyway one thing I think is objectively worse in the remake is the regenerators. Not scary at all now. They used to move so creepily and eerily... Also i hate the stun lock in this one. Still a good game
I grew up playing re4 og so it will always be better than the remake for me. I still like the remake is good tho its definitely not soulless but compared to the original the cheese is noticable
CrowbCat usually hyper fixates on small details. Sometimes they make good points, sometimes not. They really dropped the ball with that vid. RE4R has so many actual issues that they ignored. Makes me think they went into the game wanting to dislike it. Doesn't cover how enemies grabbing you hurts your tactical vest for some reason, or how you take a little bit of damage instantly when an enemy grabs you before you can use a knife to get them off, unlike in RE2R. Or how sometimes the camera gets pulled away from the player to show them something in the environment, while enemies can still move and hit you. None of that, fixates on the audio being too low.
@@TheAverageGamer1 Any time there are enemies present when the game enters those mini cutscenes, you can be hit. For example, when you get the cutscene of Salvador cutting down the overhang in the village fight while you are being held, an enemy can hit you during that. It's happened to me many times.
I agree that crowbcat's video is severely biased and full of BS, but the point of 20:00 isn't to show that Ashley is all prim and proper in the remake, it's to show that in the original you can hear rain and thunder and see the lightning through the window. The remake doesn't have that and the room is completely still.
I think the original game did have better and more "present" ambient music, the village at night imo was hugely downgraded in the remake in visuals and sound.
I am greatful the VA in italian language are so good. Obviously the OG merchant is as inimitable as like nemesis OG. Krauser and Ada VA ENG are better in OG. They made him feel more human, but he's even more of a badass now, parrying everything, even a damn chainsaw with his knife for example. I'm not lying when I say I genuinely have no idea how people hate his new personality.
Nawh, that's just the voice actor being bad. No emotional range, weaker voice. The removal of the ballistics line is a straight up disappointment too.

It's just marvel tier. Smooth brain.
Even if the audio and visuals weren't manipulated, there are just so many scenes from the remake that Crowbcat choses not to show.
> The fight with the chainsaw sisters (probably because Leon does that backflip and Crowbcat can't show remake Leon looking cool)
> The Mendez chase scene like Bawk mentioned
> Showcasing the water hall only when the music stops playing
> The castle battlements area
> He also doesn't show any of the mines area where Luis teams up with you, even in the double el gigante footage, it's almost like he made an effort to exclude Luis
> The krauser knife fight (not the cutscenes, the actual fight where you have to use the knife manually)
> The garrador fight
> For some reason in the water hall, while showing combat, he makes an active effort to run past an enemy after stunning it and not kicking it, like you can see him actively avoiding the melee prompt (ig he can't show remake Leon doing cool roundhouses???)
> The main Krauser fight (all he does his show the transformation cutscene, not you know.... the literal rest of the fight)
> The scene where Leon shoots Salazar, causing him to transform
> He also cuts off many scenes in the remake to suit his agenda. Example:- the scene with the Saddler boss where Leon says "I'll give you a holy body" and stabs him with his own staff, Crowbcat cuts the footage off just when the rocket hits Saddler
Everybody's entitled to their own opinion.
@@Yubl10
After the Cabin Holdout(which is thematically worse in the Original), you choose to either fight a bunch of Ganado and the Bella Sisters or just another single El Gigante but now in a long, narrow stretch.
1:20:59 OF COURSE HE DIDNT WANT PEOPLE TO CALL HIM OUT SO DAMN SHOCKED

Yep. His FarCry 2 vid is particularly striking. Not sure what the hell he was thinking here.
Look, it's ultimately a clickbait title, I'm pretty sure crowbcat would say that he doesn't *really* think that if you asked him.

@figofox so you enjoy slop I'm guessing?
The dishonesty of that video is off the charts. The uploader is more than entitled to their own opinion, even if that opinion is based on nostalgia bias or whatever. The horrible part is that they chose to deliberately frame the remake in the worst way possible in an effort to try and manipulate others into agreeing with their opinion, like they KNEW that presenting the argument objectively for the audience to form their own opinions wouldn't work for them. Shitty behaviour.
For remake, the french voice of Krauser as an absolute banger
RE4R IS SOULESS ☠️ (plays RE4 og at 200% volume and RE4r at 2%)
The sound mixing in RE4 Remake still isn't nearly as good unfortunately, as is the case with most modern games.
I have Audio Technica M50X headphones BTW.
funny how bawk could have hopped into the game at any point and proved him wrong but he didn't

Just like with RE2, the original and the Remake are both 10/10's imo. Can't wait to see what Capcom does next!
No re2 remake butchered all the characters and the a/b scenario, so the remake will never live up to the og. Still 8/10 tho because the game is fun
re2 remake lacked music in many parts and I feel you couldn't hear the music at all in most parts except the bangers we get at the escape route and final bosses. Is a very good game still tho.

Well well well... look who's wrong.
Honors OG😂😂😂😂
One thing that bugs me about the spike pit scene on the remake is, where does the chain come from? It's not hanging from the roof above the hole and if it was nailed into the wall or something than it would be laying along it, not hanging down loosely around the centre of the hole.
If anything the soundtrack is exactly what makes Resident Evil more immersive. It sets the atmosphere and pulls you in. And on top of that, it is truly an artistic masterpiece. I’d take that any time over “realistic immersion”. If I want realistic I’ll go outside and touch grass, yeah that’s more immersive😂
Sorry I geek out on good soundtrack so not having it’s just not for me.
Good take
God that video was so disingenuous and dishonest. Crowbcat even tried to lie and say he didn't alter the visuals and audio, when it's insanely obvious that he did if you just simply boot your game up with default settings
21:44 "Yeah I like that but because I am Canadian I am legaly not allowed to say that."
Honestly I'll take the bromance of leon and Luis vs ballistics

OG was shot like a 90s action movie, whereas Remake is trying to tell a story. They play to different strengths
@@Red_Sutter Yeah I understand that but it doesn't change the fact that most of them are incredibly dull to watch. Some stylized camerawork wouldn't have detracted from the serious tone RE4R had. Separate Ways did a better job with it's cutscenes than the main game did imo.
They made Ashley's titties HUGE in Remake
The og is just a better game in everything. The remake is very good. But the og is a masterpiece
did the guy who made the video play the remake with all music turned off?
15:35 watch the chat go crazy, my favorite was "saying professional = equals soulless xd"
Cool video definitely humorously cut
@@jamess854 They were going after crowbcat for being dishonest and altering the audio to make it seem bad.
If you wanna make OG look bad use PS2 not Wii
4:37 I know Bawk likes this and me too, but the RE4 remake haters thinks that it is an atmospheric masterpiece when probably is just a stock wind sound and just loops after like 10 seconds lol is not that deep, its just a loud sound.
funny enough re4 was always called soulless by og fans and i agree its true. when you compare it to intimate in detailed REmake which came out before it. the game was a action arcade game for the masses where you kill what feels like thousands of enemies , yes its masterpiece but not it wasn't the genre of og resident evil
1:17:34 I feel the same exact way, even more so in RE5.
The reason every time remake is shown it sounds really bad, legit is because (and this was proven) that he edited the sounds for re4make.
The rooms are actually lit by lanterns and other real light sources = bad game
According to the guy that made the video.
Though I understand that people may be annoyed about not being as faithfull.
they may have spanish accents now but the va sucks

Yeah that vid tries too hard. It's not so black and white. I do think the REmake fumbled a lot of things compared to the original, but I also think it's the best REmake of the bunch to date.
I have to say I think I would still pick qte krauser over the new one at least for that first fight

To me as a Bigger Truth fan of RE Unives Both of Old and New mostly RE 7 and 8 The first time I saw The First trailer for RE2 i new that it wasn't a Remake same as RE3 and 4 mostly because that's not how Remakes work remake Is to approve The original and repeat it from the ground up by adding New Locations new enemy's New Cut scenes but keep it 100% faithful to the original just like how RE 1 remake not like These Shit Demakes and I really do think that there are people out there who can agree with me on that please like and let me know what your thoughts are
sounds more like coping to belittle what is compared in the video
Y'all are not giving good enough reasons as to why the original is not better.
For me, the original just felt better to play with meatier feedback on the action. The remake made some cool changes mind you
How much did Capcom pay you to fake laugh every five seconds?
The remake was not afraid to have real quiet moments. The composer of this video clips definitely is afraid to have quiet moments in their life.
😂
3:23 So they Were Trying to Spread false info? IMPOSSIBLW!!!
bro that guy who made the video brings shame upon us OG re4 fans, im sick to my stomach
Nah, i agree with him.
You're misinterpreting the footage. It's not only about audio mixing, it's about art direction.
At what point did the game take the camera away from Leon allowing you to get hit? I've done 10 runs amd haven't had that happen
Nice!
Aniway OG have so much good atmosphere in some places like’s original games… And the gore/brutal is masterpiece in the OG and comedy too… But just only like that major proirity. Becouse everything in remake are better…
He has done some pretty entertaing and solid videos, with this one he 98% missed the point and with the comments deletion he made it even worse.
Original and Remake are both awesome in what they do,but calling "Soulless" RE4 Remake after the amount of attention to detail and respect for the oiriginal material it's a bit too much.I am also against the stupid censorships (even if gladly it's not as noticeable as in previous Capcom games here) but that don't kill the overall quality.
Jesus. There’s also a 2 hour video essay titled “resident evil 2 remake is absolute garbage” and there’s people in the comments that agree and I’m so triggered by this it’s unbelievable 😢
It was such a banger of a video. Wish she'd return to do more vids 😔
The guy who did it is really a hater, because I've played both and The music, the new things are extraordinary.
I like crowbcat, but this video is definitely a L on his part imo. There are things I liked more in the original, and things I liked more in the remake. They are both amazing games.
