I've just realised that I'm so excited to be talking about this because it's such a big part of my life. I know and understand that it only effects me peripherally compared to those who actually live in a system, but it's been the most joyful and painful and curious and wonderful experience of my life. It can also be quite isolating because to protect them, you can't always talk about it or be open thanks to the stigma. It is going to take years for psychology to catch up to what we already know, and that's incredibly daunting and frustrating.

I am pretty sure that kyle themselves and someone of their Team approved of the edit. It's an Interview about D.I.D, to tell people about it. There is no Drama, so don't make it
What I find so incredible is that the brain as this ability to say "woah we can't let you relive this horrible experience, let me add some people to help you in different situations " . At one point its terrifying to not remember what has happened or where you are but at the same time it's strangely beautiful that the brain is trying to protect the person.
A lot of mental illness is just the brain doing its best to keep you safe. For example, I have anxiety, which is my brain trying extremely hard to make sure something bad doesn't happen to me even when that is entirely unnecessary.
this "mental illness" isn't a real thing in the big book of psychology it's probably just something else but so far progressed it's seen as something completely different
This. This is one of the trickiest subjects to ever to be studied on earth. Like how the brain could just trip over a wire and suddenly it makes a person changes into another person.
I love how he so kindly didnt rush her through the process of dissociation. I dissociate quite a bit and its hard to just come back at the snap of fingers. (I dont have DID just trama induced dissociation.) the way he said, “take your time.” Was so warm and welcoming and even a bit comforting. Even if kyle wasn’t completely all there, he couldnt probably still hear him. Its the little comments like that that can make a difference
As a person with DID myself we can hear when we switch we sometimes don’t understand it because it doesn’t get warbled (this is my experience not everyone with DID shares the same experience)
yup! we're a system and often feel rushed because some alters LOVE (not really but he does a lot because @busers) to front during class and feel rushed to try and front because then they have to try and pull me back so I can talk. It's stressful. Especially if it's Darius, who is a heavy smoker. I've only actually heard his voice once and it was deep and RASPY. Or if our little is fronting, she just puts herself in dangerous situations all the time, I feel bad because she's an age slider (0-5) and most of it happens during her earlier part of that range. sorry for the rant, we just don't get to talk about us being a system too much. -Aether, Saeran, and a little ( ✨ The Lunar System ✨)

Anthony is a genuinely amazing person. The fact that he was completely patient, wasn’t intrusive or making a big deal, and simply let her have her moment. A lot of content creators would get all up close and loud about that, but the fact he stayed calm and respectful is just amazing.
Yeah, because he's a good person. We aren't shocked, we're impressed because a lot of people don't treat alters or those with DID with respect. In the comments of this video, and maybe even the camera man (with the intrusive zoom) there are people being horribly rude to those with DID, really just saying that they're faking it to seem special. I trust that they aren't, but a lot of the systems I know irl have dealt with horrible things from their families. You'd be surprised at how many people don't treat systems with respect. I know that my personal respect for Anthony has gone up, I didn't know much about him but I believe now that he is a genuinely good person, and thats rare.
Yes, anyone with an open mind and empathy could read and go with this situation. If you're keeping those people all to yourself, could you please share one or two? They're very hard to find 'round these parts. I wonder if they all group together in places far away from here. 🤔🥲
Something to keep in mind is that often, child alters usually only front when a) there is a trigger of something childish or bright, or b) the situation feels so safe and comfortable that the system doesn’t ‘fight’ the fronting of the child alter. Yes usually a system can’t control when which alters do and don’t front, but a system can (with experience) try to ‘monitor’ who is closer to the front, and can even try to suppress an alter from fronting if it may not be appropriate. The fact that this child alter fronted in this interview shows that they felt comfortable and safe enough to front, and the system didn’t fight it because they felt it would be safe for the child to front.
My best friend actually has DID, and they have quite a few littles in their system. I've always felt so happy when they've comfortably let me around them and help when necessary- its one of the best feelings to know they're that comfortable with me
The problem is there are some ppl pretending to have these things on the internet to gain popularity. I wish we could stop them so ppl who actually have DID can feel more comfortable on the internet 😔 I'm 20. I have a friend (14 yo) pretending to have DID. I want to stop them but I'm scared becz I might be offensive. At this point I'm 100% sure they don't have DID cuz sometimes I have to remind them about it😐 it's mostly teenagers that does this to look special. Wish we could do smt about it
As a DID system, we got so nervous when we saw a little was fronting. But Anthony handled that fabulously. Littles fronting in front of people can be scary because they are children but they were very respectful with everything. -Sophia
Sorry if it’s a rude question but what’s it like having did? Is it like different people just shoving their way to the consciousness? Are you aware of everyone else inside? What do the other alters do when they’re not fronting?
@@Someone-km3mx that's a very valid question, thank you. every system is different, and for some systems who aren't as cooperated, alters may shove their way to the front, while some systems who are more cooperated have scheduled switches or switches that are agreed upon between alters. however, cooperated or not, specific triggers that are specific to the person/alter may also trigger out an alter. even very well organised systems may have uncontrolled switches, although generally less frequent than when they first discovered their DID. some alters are aware they are part of a system while some are not. and for those who are not aware, it is the duty of the system to inform and communicate with that alter that they are part of the system living in the same body. i like to write notes to such alters and place it around my room, to attempt to establish communication. as for what do alters do when they are not fronting, some may just have a consciousness blackout, some may lurk "near the front" and see what's going on with the alter that's fronting (called co-consciousness), and this varies from system to system too. -s1 (host/protector/gatekeeper)
@@Someone-km3mx it’s really complex to explain it and it’s different for everyone. For us, I can interact with head mates within headspace when I’m not fronting. But I’m not aware of what everyone is doing while I am fronting. How our headspace is, we have a fronting room and that’s where you go to front. So when you’re in the room, no you dont know what’s happening. And it’s even hard to look into headspace and then say in the body what everyone is doing. Most times information doesn’t really connect to the body if that makes sense. For example, we have people who speak Russian and Chinese fluently but the body doesn’t know those languages fluently so when they front, they can only speak in English. Every alter can only do what the body can already do if that makes sense. We also have gatekeepers. These roles basically protect the fronting room and can mostly hear everything that goes on in the fronting room. So they will put in and take out who they think the body needs for whatever situation it is in. But yes there is some shoving involved occasionally. When we aren’t fronting we chill in headspace or our inner world, for us, we have multiple islands with different terrains, some even modeled after tv shows and stuff like that. We have businesses within headspace but don’t have currency. Mainly it’s like I help you, you help me deal. So for example, we have a pub for the adults, we have a bakery and candy shop, etc.
@@Someone-km3mx also.. totally not a rude question! If you have tiktok, we have a system account, it might tell you more about our system and some general system things.
@@serpentlag8960 Well it would technically by they/them because there is multiple personalities inside of that one person who may all choose to go by different pronouns and you can’t say they are a girl because are they really part of that body? Who was the original personality that owned it?

Yeah, I feel a bit bad to admit this but "22+ alters" sounds like too much to be real. Like someone who's so incredibly attention-starved that they keep inventing new personalities to keep being interesting. It's crazy that there are people out there who actually have that many different people living in them.
I have noticed that her voice also changes, but if it is something happening inside the brain why does the physical voice change? I get that the “child” would talk in a more childish way but not in a childish tone that makes no sense
The brain creates the alters to protect her from some traumatic memories and those alters are based on many things. They can be based on some other person, a friend, an actor or even a cartoon character. Your brain perceives some traits other person or character has as role model suitable to protect her memories and uses it as a sort of template to create a new alter. The alters are actually like different people and if the alter takes over your mannerism, gestures, speach and sometimes even accents change according to which alter is fronting (taking over). It is well documented in all people with DID.
If you listen to yourself you’ll notice your voice changes a lot too. Not the best example but some days you’ll be more masculine some days younger or feminine. Or like being around different groups or children you automatically change your voice. Not the same but you could almost view it like so
It's similar to how people with "chameleon" accents work. Say someone has lived in America, but also lived in Australia. When they're talking to someone with an Australian accent, they'll switch to that accent automatically. It's also similar to echolalia, a phenomenon where someone will copy sounds, accents, words, etc while speaking. When someone has D.I.D, and one of their "alters" has a very different voice, the brain kind of automatically adopts a similar voice to how it thinks that alter should sound.
Interesting fact about DID, their brain literally function different when other personality pop out and literally can see when the change happen through an MRI.

I'm really shocked how shocked people are to see this guy handle it well. Anyone with an open mind and empathy could read and go with this situation

Sorry if it’s a rude question but what’s it like having did? Is it like different people just shoving their way to the consciousness? Are you aware of everyone else inside? What do the other alters do when they’re not fronting?
Stop making things up for attention, kid. It's pathetic.

So, unless I’m missing something… the child alter says “I wanted to answer the question… “ and then seconds later says, “I don’t know what’s going on”.
D.I.D is very complex. They likely heard the question and wanted to answer it, which pulled them to the front, but aren’t fully aware of what’s going on because they’re a child and haven’t been fronting.
Yup. It's almost as of she's full of shit, huh? Hmm... Interesting 🤔
@@howellaboutno9500it IS complex. So much in fact that it's still highly debated in the psychiatric community as to whether it's even real or not. In order to be diagnosed you have to meet the criteria one of which is amnesia and disassociation. Meaning you would have no idea that the altars exist and you would have no idea what was happening before you "switched" so what she's doing in this video is already contradictory to the diagnostic criteria of dissociative identity disorder. Also, in order to be diagnosed you have to be at least 18 years old and it takes numerous years I'm talking like years upon years upon years upon even more years to even get close to being diagnosed because it is such a controversial and complex and rare disorder. This girl looks like she's MAYBE 21. so, I find it odd that she managed to acquire a diagnosis for DID. Especially since her behaviors and claims are not consistent with the real diagnostic criteria of dissociative identity disorder. What she seems to be doing is mimicking the more sensationalized versions of the disorder that are displayed in movies and TV shows.
@@that_goth_bitch3899 That’s so stupid lol. Yes, of course you wouldn’t know… until you get diagnosed. If nobody ever knew, we wouldn’t know the disorder exists. But once you get diagnosed, you actively work to know when switches happen and your alters so you can live a functional life.
She has lots of videos where she talks about how she overcomes the amnesia. And she talks about dissociation all the time. Also she’s 27 years old.
You seem to be making a LOT of assumptions and generalizations about what someone CHOOSES to show on the internet to support your point. I don’t know why this is so important to you. I agree that there are lot of fakers out there, but I don’t think she’s one of them.
I think you’re doing more damage than fakers when you assume things about people’s pasts and mental states. This is UA-cam, where videos are carefully edited and recorded. Of course she’s not going to post her lowest moments. If it troubles you so much to see her, you can just not watch. Her success doesn’t affect you in anyway. And you don’t know the harm you could be doing.

@@jeremycoelho1833 system is a term for all the seperate components of one's personality. i think the term comes from a computer system or something like clockwork. littles are child personalities often created after one afflicted person goes through immense trauma at that young age. this trauma could be from witnessing a horrible death, or it could be from experiencing severe abuse of some sort. most systems i have met have had some form of early childhood sexual and or early childhood physical abuse happen to them. there's often neglect and a feeling of abandonment involved too.
