I'm one of those guys that likes when my boots get all beat up and broken in. I love the look of a well worn boot. Having said that, I've treated some of my boots over the years with conditioners and have not been put off at all by the darkening of the leathers. Sometimes it even makes the boots better looking. If you find that you aren't happy with the darkening, just start wearing the boots again and eventually they will lighten up some again as they again get scuffed and scraped up with daily wear.
from the looks of it, being a rubber sole instead of a crepe one, those are probablt the clarks bushacres. Very similar to the desert boots, but supposedly of lesser quality leather. regardless, great video and very appreciated - i also own a pair :)
I mostly wear black leather boots anyway (I have a few brown ones though). I still use neutral conditioners/creams, but anything that darkens leather I use specifically on my black boots.
Use the old standard green coil but I used it for years at least 18 and never had an issue works wonderful keeps a leather soft and good. Try and get the old actual mink oil . The new stuff still does a decent job but it's not as good as the original
I used it for years, and it does darken, but the super darkening you see at the beginning of the application does fade over time closer to it's normal color. It will also seal ruffed up leather. I had to take sandpaper to a pair of cheap Stafford boots after a bad dye wouldn't hold to the boots and I had to sand it all off to restore them. Which also completely stripped off it's original coat of oils. The kiwi oil essentially sealed them back up and gave them a new finish and they look awesome and rugged.
If you ever get a chance to review Lexol, make sure you research which one you're getting. They've changed the formula recently and it's more difficult to obtain their "original" formula now, and people are saying the "new" formula is quite different from original and overall worse as well.
My Clark’s are almost through😓 I spent a long time looking for the right leather shoe/boot.. I never took into consideration I had the most loyal boot on my foot the whole time, only 70 bucks had them for almost 3 yrs now.. I’m gonna wear them till they fall off😂
Beginner product for lower end boots. Works great for what it's supposed to do, but I would only use it on lower end stuff or second hand stuff, to much silicone and chemicals to be using on high end stuff. Silicone+leather=bad news eventually.
I have the same Clark’s boots and the silicone based conditioners do darken the boot up initially , but after couple / few weeks they lighten back up. I don’t mind the darker look so much but it’ll go back if you hate it.
I bought the leather cleaning kit from Cobbler's Choice and I'm wondering if their leather conditioner would work on my pair of Clarks Bushacre 2 Beeswax. Anyone here used this leather conditioner on their Clark's? Thanks
Cheaper Leather Homey is MURPHY'S OIL . One only need add a tab;e spoon to hot water and apply with Horse Hair Brush. And wipe off your Shoes Jacket etc Leather Goods will be Softer and Cleaner and supple. I just Treated a Leather Biker Jacket I got at a Pawn shop for $24 dollars.Jacket Had smudges and was dirty and had some paint speckles on it. Looks Like a $200 dollar jacket now. I knew I could clean and condition after getting home. Try Murphys oils with Hot Water mix . And a Bonus is shoes jacket etc will smell good.
Hey mate, thanks for making this video. I wasn't sure on how to apply this kiwi paste and have been using my fingers as well, I was definitely surprised to see you doing it the same way. I am doing a new pair of work boots right now and I agree it does darken them quite a bit. How necessary do you think it is to wipe the product off. In the past I used this on a well worn pair without wiping, and placed them in a bag for a few days, it really softened them up. I haven't had any problems. Just curious why the recommendation to wipe off right away. Thanks mate
Should you put conditioning balm on new leather Clark wallabees? I have not found one video talking about how to clean wallabees. I have a brand new unopened box of leather wallabees Clarks. I have a leather condition balm for weather resistant or water. If not when should I clean them? This is not for shine. It's for water resistance.
Hello friend, I like your channel very much, I would like some help, I have two clarks suede boots, the color sand suede and oak suede, which brush is better to clean them, and which product should I use the suede for a longer durability and avoid stains, thank you friend.
How's it going Nick! I feel like I haven't been commenting on your videos lately, sorry about that. Great review on this conditioner by the way! Personally, I think that Bicks 4 is the best bang for your buck conditioner on the market! :)
Anyone out in UA-cam land explain something about the beeswax desert boots for me. I have 5 pairs of Clarks desert boots 4 in suede( different colours, and all Stamped Charles Stead, Leeds. This is the place the leather is processed. Yet the Beeswax pair are not stamped at all, why? Where is this leather processed, is it inferior?
I'm not super well versed in cleaners to be honest Eric, but favorite conditioners would be Venetian Shoe Cream and Cobbler's Choice (that video isn't up yet)
I would NEVER put that crap on shoes. I have a pair of Clarks Desert boots that are 32 years old and they're in great condition and all I've ever used is Saddle Soap. I never use products that contain silicone as it plugs the leather and doesn't allow it to breath and that will shorten the life of the shoe.

100%, I tried to make it clear that not everybody cares about darker leather.

Haha I think I have to review what they're offering Phillip, so the bad one is what I'll do!
Petrolatum, Paraffin, Lard Oil; Hydrotreated Light Alkanes.

Thanks very much for the great review. Thursday Boots just came out with line of sneakers and I was wondering if you were planning on reviewing them.
Yeah I'm going to do a few sneaker reviews in the coming months! Filming Chuck Taylors this weekend, I'm nervous haha

Great review Nick. Would you recommend Venetian shoe cream for Red Wing?
Yeah, definitely.
Silicone they say can damage leather like it did on my Rockport slip-ons.
Yeah it's a contentious topic Bernard.
Suddenly you mention Malaysia =D

any product you'd particularly recommend for beeswax Clarks? maybe something that darkens the leather less
Venetian Shoe Cream would work!
@@Stridewise thanks, love the channel
I don't know what he's talking about. I've never had any problems getting it on a rag or applicator
Kiwi soap good or no ?

In Malaysia: Dah kiwi kasut kau? meaning: "have you kiwi your shoe?" Keep up the excellent content sir. I appreciate your work :)
Haha thanks man, are you Malaysian?
@@Stridewise yes i am sir . If you visit malaysia , feel free to snap a pic of you in boots, infront of our KLCC tower ya :D

Hey man I think I run over all that in my review stridewise.com/clarks-desert-boot-review/
Please do a review of Fieblings products.......great review btw....
Thanks man! Got a lot of conditioners to get through, but going to wrap them up after a couple more for now

Thanks Alby! Yeah Bick doesn't moisturize alllll that much, but its good for maintaining the color
@@Stridewise Which conditioner would you recommend that moisturizes more than Bicks, but doesn't really darken the leather?
I think it may clog leather pores.
Hello i have same pair of Clarks but sadly these well known shoe conditioners etc in my locale not available what should i do with home base lubricant
the Malaysia thing is very very very True.😁 even in armed forced , kiwi means shining their shoes.
Can this along with Kiwi saddle soap be used on black leather?
Is it best for beeswax leather?
Can i apply this to merrell chameleon vibrant shoes?
Is there any solution to remove over waxed/balm from leather
They change the colour but will they Brighton up??
Can you review Cololite leather care products?
Can you do a review on Angelus leather conditioner?
Look better before
They looked cooler before you applied the conditioner.

agreed. better looking before.

Waxes causes the leather to not breath and makes the boots hot and uncomfortable and the leather will crack.
Shoes look better after conditioning with wax, I don't get how people like having worn out looking boots.
Should I apply cream/oil to my chukkas right out of the box?
Not unless you want to waterproof them, no.
Can u send one pair of shoes for me bro
