BO2 still possessed a realistic take on the future. Drones, portable computers and VTOL aircraft was where the future was going by that point, so it simply applied that logic as opposed to creating one out of thin air. Although, the world has made several leaps in robotics and AI in recent years.

There’s a difference between “futuristic” and “sci-fi” and BO2 and 3 are oddly good examples of that
