@@SantoshKumar-ws2qz it really hasn't though, I played through the story this past weekend, and played some private free for all with some friends of mine, i felt the same as when I first played it 10 years ago.
Shepherd was truly a fool. All for revenge he killed the best men he had, pissed off the 2 most dangerous of the group, and got an entire unit killed all because Price didn’t get a headshot. And now he’s dead because he decided that monologues were more important than loading the freaking gun to kill the 2 guys who were going to kill him no matter what.
Yup his emotions got him killed, just like Zakhaev who went to the launch place after his sons death which got him killed, or Makarov saying "Goodbye, Captain Price" giving Yuri enough time to distract Makarov.
Can you blame him? What general wouldn’t go insane after losing 30,000 Marines for seemingly no Reason since the ultranationalists won and took control of Russia anyways
+James Butler People played the Modern Warfare series for the plot? I don't believe that for a second. In terms of plot, however, it was superior to World at War, yet you say it killed the series? You're entitled to your opinion, but that makes no sense. It wasn't the rehashed WWII story-line that World at War presented or the shit gameplay of every game from Black Ops to today. COD died after MW2, but this was the series' swan song.
James Butler I know, man. Just using the plot as an example. I've never liked any of the plot in CoD, if we're being honest. I used to play it for the multiplayer (and zombies, when that became a thing) before I moved on altogether.
+AsIaNboigamer LoL good, now go to battlefield and say that there. This is my game so fuck off. I like the past the present and the future, that's the COD I remember.

Still one of the best soundtracks ever made by Hans Zimmer. I wonder why it never got released onto Spotify along with the mw2 soundtracks. Because I can never find the original part to it.
11 years now wow. I remember being 15 and sitting late into the night listening to this. The depth of emotions pushed on you by a soundtrack can be overwhelming at times. Now I'm 20 and I still feel the emotions as I listen. May this ost and the beauty of mw2 forever be pure
I'm also 20 and i was made fun of for being a squeaker back then, but the truth is, it doesn't matter if we were kids, we still got to experience the game in it's prime. Every single generation after us will never understand, that understanding unites me with the people that shit-talked me back in the day.
I remember the dialogue in this mission gave me *chills,* especially after what happened to Roach and Ghost just before this. Hands down, the Modern Warfare series had the BEST storyline!

60% of the comment section - quoting famous MW2 quotes. 30% of the comment section - '' It's so sad that Ghost and Roach died. '' 10% of the comment section - '' The last good CoD. ''
Maris Grablevskis All blinded by nostalgia, if you think about MW2 realistically, it was the most unbalanced and fucked up COD to date, one man armys, commando, noob tubes + danger close, quickscoping etc etc, not to mention the absolutely ridicilous killstreaks.
Matias Kajander Finally someone who gets it! I think the last COD to be the best was Black Ops 1! Much more balanced, except for the spawn-trapping, but that was really hard to do!
Hans Zimmer is forever a legend for the soundtracks he has produced in his time, MW2, the Dark Knight saga, Inception, Interstellar and many more. The man just knows how to capture an epic scene
Apparently, Hans Zimmer is only credited with the main themes while Lorne Balfe is credited with the rest (which could definitely include this). At the time, he was a rising star with an award for it, and has since worked on a vast number of projects; he scored the Lego Batman Movie, was widely praised for his score for Grand Turismo and has tellingly been Tom Cruise's constant pick for scoring since they started working together in 2018.
In my opinion this mission is the best mission among all COD campaigns. It was right behind the mission where Roach and Ghost were betrayed and killed and you (Soap) and Price were left being hunted by both Russian terrorists and Shadow Team (the personal special forces of Sheperd). You have to fight a battle on your own and this is the only mission you don't have an AI teammate. I was trembling when I was playing this mission for the first time. When you feel the urge of revenge just right
This fits the story of Technical Sergeant John Allan Chapman One of the bravest men to have ever lived on earth, the man who sacrificed himself to save 23 comrades, with him giving hell close quarters against enemies and shooting in multiple directions in his desperate last stand with over 16 gunshot wounds and shrapnel injury, John saved 23 of his brothers that day, and earned the great medal of honor Rest In Peace TSgt. After the first weeks and first rounds of the new cod mw2 (2022) UA-cam recommended me this video and im just crying infront of my pc... I remember everything. My dad played this game and i was just sitting next to him - watching this immersive gameplay as a child. I remember my first time when i self-played Spec Ops with one of my uncles and giving callouts like we were really on a stealth mission over the shity ps3 one-ear-headset. Wounderful memories ... In moments like this, you realise how fast time flies ... Im grateful and happy, even that im crying right now, that i could experience this masterpeace.
Give me a knife, I stab. Give me a pistol, I shoot. Give me a tank, I destroy. Give me an enemy, I make a friend. Give me a God's bless, I rule. Give me a fight, I satisfy. But you give me that one damn look, I give you a fresh peace of hell...
if you think of it the best call of duty games contain the best soundtracks, for me good soundtracks are very important for video games it makes them much better, emotional and enjoyable and this game is example of it,because no matter how many years will pass we all have this game at our heart and remember the good old times we had.
I've always been a firm believer that the soundtrack is nearly essential to help immerse you into a world. It can be visually outstanding, and the story can be amazing as well, but it's nearly impossible to immerse yourself (ESPECIALLY in a video game) into the world without becoming immersed aurally. The music helps so much with exporting the emotion characters feel into your very person.
MW2 created a legacy. We will all look back on it, either with good or bad opinions, but we will remember. This game created many of the youtubers we know today. Created friends we will never forget. Created memories we will never lose. The Call of duty franchise looks back on this as their greatest success and wonder why, well we the gamers know why. Because it is more than just a game.
Mazen AlComedy MW was the key change, but MW2 provided the content variety cod4 needed. All MW2 needed is more identity for weapons, not just categories (like F2000's red dot).

@@thomasalvarez6456 "I will come looking for you"
"You won't have to look far"
"that cut both ways" refers to Yuri and MW3 events
the enemy of my enemy refers to both Price (in this situation) and Yuri

+James Butler Are you for real?
+James Butler you might too ;)
+James Butler People played the Modern Warfare series for the plot? I don't believe that for a second. In terms of plot, however, it was superior to World at War, yet you say it killed the series? You're entitled to your opinion, but that makes no sense. It wasn't the rehashed WWII story-line that World at War presented or the shit gameplay of every game from Black Ops to today. COD died after MW2, but this was the series' swan song.
James Butler I know, man. Just using the plot as an example. I've never liked any of the plot in CoD, if we're being honest. I used to play it for the multiplayer (and zombies, when that became a thing) before I moved on altogether.

Dragonfier Competitor Actually mw2 has a great campaign.
Daniel Belchev It did, but I still prefer Black Ops 1's campaign, as I think the story is much better than Modern Warfare 2's story.
Dragonfier Competitor What about Cod4??? It has great story too.

What games are better than this legendary game?
Good contenders IMO are Metro: Last Light, Bioshock Infinite, World at War and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
My tastes, though.

Haha wtf is this
if you think of it the best call of duty games contain the best soundtracks, for me good soundtracks are very important for video games it makes them much better, emotional and enjoyable and this game is example of it,because no matter how many years will pass we all have this game at our heart and remember the good old times we had.
