  • Welcome!
Today's video is a first time reaction to Eskimo Callboy's new song 'We Got the Moves'. This was a strangely wonderful song with variety in the vocal choices and a rather interesting music video aesthetic. Join me in breaking down some of what happens.

Serious kudos to the writing and delivery of this banger of a tune from Eskimo Callboy. Perfect blend of influences, different vocal techniques that is still super fun!
P.s I see you all asking for a Hypa Hypa react and I'm definitely down to explore more of their music. So many questions from We Got The Moves... so much potential future fun to be had.

Hypa Hypa was their big "reaction scene" blowup. They liked it enough that they collaborated with other German artists and bands from totally different genres to do an album worth of covers. Strangely fresh every new version you hear, despite essentially being the same song Lol.

    • @RuanalHallen

The big songs to check out from them would be Hypa Hypa as others have noted (there are also a lot of additional covers from other artists on that one, with WBTBWB being a notable one), MC Thunder, MC Thunder II. They've got a knack for very fun, very catchy songs, easily one of my favorite bands these days.

The thing you need to be aware of is that if you go down the Hypa Hypa rabiit hole, you will come out with about 8 reactiobs, because you will certainly want to find out in just how many styles that song sounds great.

Well if your going to listen to Hypa Hypa.... there are:
    1. the original from Eskimo Callboy
    2. Folk/medival metal with bagpipes etc. from Saltatio Mortis
    3. a Pop version from Sasha
    4. a German Rap version from 257ers
    5. a METAL Version :) from WBTBWB (We Butter the Bread with Butter)
    6. a version from Axel One I don't even know what genre it is :D
    7. a country version from The Bosshoss
    8. a REMIX from Gestört aber Geil

Someone once said Germans weren't funny, lol. It's a pure summer party anthem. It manages to get deathcore into a pop-friendly idea that is otherwise quite reliable and time-honored. They just do it really well with their own unique sense of humor, which what is really new. I think the hair is symbolic of the groove - the whole band is locked in to start and everyone else joins.

Def check out more from EC, namely Hypa Hypa and MC Thunder Parts 1 and 2 (I'd put closed captions on for part 1) - and if you want another good recommendation, I'd go with 20km/h by We Butter the Bread with Butter.
And for something more serious, do Spiritbox, basically any song by them. Rule of Nines, Holy Roller and/or Constance would by my picks (in order of personal preference) - but you really can't go wrong with any of their tracks. They've put out banger after banger ever since they got together.

    • @Syrus84
      @Syrus84 2 роки тому

Also for a bit more serious songs by EC, Crystals (with their old singer) and Hate/Love (with their new singer) would probably be a good choice ;)

Your 'Metal Face' is awesome! I'm fairly sure their vocals are by two guys, a screamer\growler and a clean vocals guy. These guys make great music and don't take it too seriously, a great combo that makes for some hilarious videos! As mentioned by countless others, if you haven't seen Hypa Hypa yet, check it out.

Just discovered your Channel and watched some of your reactions today. I Love the way you’re trying to explain how they sing and build up songs. It kind of shows me why some of the uses of voices work to me as they do.
I really would love to see you reacting to the japanese Band Dir En Grey. Some Songs I would recommend are Ranunculus or Vinushka

Many of their songs are super catchy, someone mentioned Hypa Hypa, that song is a must.
On a side note, VoicePlay released a cover of Hoist the Colors which is absolutely amazing and Geoff released a cover of House of the Rising Sun, also amazing. Highly recommend you check out those two. 🤙🏻

It was so cute that you got speechless for a bit. Your reaction was perfect. I've become a fan of Eskimo Callboy and I'm not into dance music. I love the mixture of the dance and the rock and they're a fun band. This is why I love rock music because it can add almost any other genre and work. Also, you ask great questions! :)
A lot of people would say listen to Hypa Hypa next, and that's a good song but I would suggest MC Thunder II (Dancing like a Ninja) because I love that video! Hypa Hypa is a funny video too, but MC Thunder II Is my favorite!
Oh also there is another band called "We Butter Our Bread With Butter" who is like Eskimo Callboy but they don't sing in English, but their videos are just as funny!

In their most recent Phase Eskimo Callboy managed to blend several Styles togheter that usually would not fit in a more "serious" tone. Pump it does it even better. This style is just amazing and i hope they refine it even more. YOu can play Hyper hyper, We got the Moves or Pump it in almost any club and no one would complain.

I think an important aspect of this band you missed, I think becuase you’re covering just the vocal tonality of things, is this is a German band singing in English. It was jarring watching an interview and it was in German and they sing their songs in English. Then all of the discotheque beats made sense.

Keeping in mind that I have no formal music training whatsoever... I just really love how she is able to dissect a song that truly is "genius" but also just something fun to listen to. This being the only video I have ever seen from her channel really is able to get across her wide range of knowledge in the music industry. 👍 Good job hitting the nail on the head as well as being able to bring in your own intuition of song progression.

Very interesting video, will start browsing this channel now.
