James Gunn did confirm that when we hear Groot speak it’s symbolizing we, the audience can finally understand him.
I prefer the "I am groot" version honestly. When characters like this who say one thing or characters who are silent get changed like that it just feels weird and stuff.

@@SilentBob731 it’s not that it’s just when you change something like I said your basically removing what made that character who they are and it just doesn’t make them enjoyable anymore because they basically become just like everyone else instead of having something like that which allows them to be unique and stand out. And I’m not saying all characters have to be unique or something it’s just if you have one that is you should just keep them that way.

The first GOTG was my mom’s favorite comic book movie ever, sadly she passed away from cancer complications in 2015 at just 65 years old. What hooked her to the movie at first was the soundtrack of many of the songs she grew up on, but then she loved it so much that she became a fan of the MCU. It’s why this franchise has a very special place in my heart.
So when Dog Days Are Over (ANOTHER favorite of mine and my mom’s) was playing and the Guardians were celebrating/moving on with their lives, I was a wreck. Not out of pain of loss, but of remembering the good times I had with my mom.
As for the movie itself, it’s one of my top 10 favorite comic book movies ever, as well as an all time favorite. With a supervillain I have never wanted to kill more than The High Evolutionary. And I love that the song that was played to send off the Guardians Of The Galaxy was the first song we as the audience heard when we saw Peter in the opening titles of Vol 1.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go listen to Come And Get Your Love by Redbone!

Adam's weaker powers was explained in the movie. He was taken out of his cocoon too early and wasn't fully developed. That also explains his childlike actions as his mental capacity wasn't fully developed either.
I happened to know Rocket's backstory from the comics (which this is pretty much what you see here) so the minute I saw Lylla in the trailer for the movie I turned to my mother and said "You're going to need tissues for this one." Without giving her any context. It could have been anything in the trailer.
The Adam Warlock in the game is him fully realized and the movie version is him immediately after being prematurely "born"
Best movie of phase 5, but oh man, the utter dread I felt for your heart when you said "I love animals" when I know what's gonna be coming....

And that what makes Chukwudi Iwuji a great actor. He was amazing as High Evolutionary, it makes you hate his character, but also love his performance. 👍
He might be my favorite MCU villain honestly- the part where he mocks Rocket’s crying is so twisted and cruel and I kind of love it
I love that in the GotG vol 3 How it Should Have Ended, even the other villains despise him, including Palpatine and Thanos

I understand why people have “superhero fatigue”. The current films are all about cool fights and team ups, instead of interesting and relatable characters and emotionally based stories. This film shows how good a superhero film can be when you ground it in these elements and give it a great sense of humour.
I don’t really think it’s Superhero fatigue. I think that fans and the audience are just tired of low effort and mediocre Superhero movies. Like for example The Marvels which I enjoyed but I thought if the movie was longer it could’ve been great since that whole Captain Marvel destroying a planet’s atmosphere or something was interesting but it felt like they were just prioritizing the ending with Ms Marvel starting to form the Young Avengers and Monica being in the X Men universe. It feels like they are trying to make a big payoff but the problem is other than Disney trying to milk this franchise for as much money as possible is that the payoff won’t be worth it if we as the audience aren’t invested into the characters. Iman Vellani the actress of Ms Marvel said that they could get back to endgame hype if we were invested into the characters and she has a point.
Rocket’s backstory is too emotional 😢
Nathan Fillion also played Captain Malcolm Reynolds in Firefly, which you should definitely react to. It only had 15 episodes, so it wouldn't take long to get through.

Drax and Mantis were the main characters in Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
It was so hilarious and had me laughing every minute. It was also so heartwarming and really captured the spirit of Christmas.
Dave Bautista ( Drax ) once again did a amazing job! This is the best version of Drax we got in GOTG Vol.3!!

@@TheIcemanthomasnah, NWH is excellent fanservice and I love that it exists, but it definitely has some structural issues and relies heavily on you loving the multiverse characters to work. Guardians 3 is just a really great movie on its own two feet.
@@TheIcemanthomas It’s decent but kind of overrated imo. Personally feel like it relies too heavily on fan service and the villains felt a bit rushed and lacked purpose.

Nathan Fillion is really good friends with James Gunn since they worked on a movie called Slither together. Ever since then James has tried to cast Nathan in every movie he's made. Nathan actually had parts in all three Guardians movies. He did the voice of the large blue alien that got Groot's fingers shoved up his nose in the prison. His part in Guardians Vol. 2 got cut for time, and he had the part in this one.
Fillion also got a part for a friend of his in Guardians Vol. 2 and 3. Actress Molly C. Quinn who played Alexis Castle, the daughter of Nathan's character in the TV show Castle. She is the red headed human Ravager. She played the same character in Vol. 2 and she was the one that was talking to Howard the Duck in that one.
James Gunn did something similar to this for a DC movie called The Suicide Squad in 2021. He's an expert at taking a group of people we don't know and making us feel connected to them by the end of the movie.
Fun fact: The ravager flying outside the ship when the Ravagers are introduced is played by Sylvester Stallone, who played roles like Rocky in the Rocky films and John Rambo in the Rambo films. I’d really recommend checking out the first Rambo film, which is called First Blood - which, fun fact no. 2: Played a role in opening people’s eyes to PTSD in veterans.

Vol 3 really tugged at the heartstrings. It could have gone with the death of at least a couple of the characters but pulled back... Have you reacted to the Guardians Christmas special? It is a fun one.

That scene of Nebula reacting to hearing Rocket’s voice after Peter saved him got me. I remembered that Nebula and Rocket were the only two surviving members of the Guardians for 5 years. Even though we didn’t really get to see it, they must’ve formed a strong bond.
I usually never cry but I couldn't stop crying this whole movie!!

The thing about all the songs in this film is, even though it's Peter's zune. All the songs are songs Rocket listen to. Thats why we start with him listening to it in the beginning. The first one was Peter and the second one was the group as a whole.

To answer your question, is what happened to Peter accurate to what happens to a person in the vacuum of space? The answer is sort of, but not quite. Peter would lose consciousness within 10 to 15 seconds. Any air that he might have in his lungs will be forcibly exhaled. And cardiac arrest would happen in about 40 seconds. Anywhere there is moister, the eyes, mouth, and nose, would instantly freeze. As to his body blowing up like it began to in the movie. Yes that does happen, but mostly to where your internal organs are located. The chest and stomach. They would expand and shortly after gasses and tissue would be forced out thru the nose mouth and anus. And shortly after that, your body would be frozen enough for it to rupture out thru wherever it can, stomach, chest....etc. Its an extremely ugly occurrence. But fortunately, the person is dead long before it gets to the really bad stuff.
You should do a short on here reacting to the singer from Florence and the Machine seeing her song play at that end of the movie. And yes we can understand Groot because we're all members of the family too now.
The only other recent MCU movie I’d recommend is Black Panther: Wakanda forever. Most of the others have been pretty underwhelming.
I always thought it would've been better if Peter and the rest would look at the new Gamora as if the old one had a twin sister. If Peter would see her that way, then the looks similarity shouldn't be all that shocking.

Alyska, there’s a little Easter egg in this scene. If you look very closely on the left of the shot, you can see that James Gunn is _absolutely fucking furious that the Russo Brothers pissed and shat all over his plan for those characters._ It’s subtle but it is there.

43:00 Lots of teeth are essential to eating batteries. Not only are batteries very crunchy but the battery acid melts all the enamel off, so you need plenty of spares.
They are gluten free and vegan friendly though and count as one of your five a day, but make sure to eat them in a whole grain bap as they contain no fibre.
Batteries are are sharp and metallic (much like rocket, but sharp and more edible) with a truly zesty kick and pair well with any cheap horrible wine, as the intense pain and horror means you won't notice how bad it is.
On Quill losing it. Dr,Strange could have portal sliced off the gauntleted arm like Wong had done to Thanos' big goon. Or portalled off his head. And he had probably seen Quill lose it in other scenarios but didn't have Mantis put him to sleep first. Out of all the million times Dr Strange saw it and many where Peter probably stayed cool it didn't work out It had to play out as it did.
The best thing about this movie was Rockets arc story
Such a brilliant end to an awesome trilogy, and probably the best individual franchise in the MCU. Between these movies and The Suicide Squad/Peacemaker, James Gunn has become one of my favourite filmmakers over the last several years. I feel like no one since Joss Whedon can bring the laughs and the pain with such a perfect mixture and flow. Plus his soundtrack work is nearly unparalleled.🤘

The High Evolutionary is so much worse than Thanos. Thanos was demonstrating natural selection in his own way. Evolutionary just wiped out entire populations because he got bored. He never got that mutations make life interesting. Life has a way of coming up with something unexpected. That drove Evolutionary mad.
Have you played the Guardians of the Galaxy game yet? It's a totally different story to anything from the movies
I love how no one every considers the idea that Rocket losing his cool in that moment is a terrible thing and the obvious result that's coming because of that.
Also, of course Gamora doesn't remember him, she never met him. It's weird to me so many people can't seem to get that idea set in their head.
