The scene where he punches the Monopoly guy and says, "Do not pass go, do not collect $200" might have been the first time in my life that I remember laughing until I cried.
That Rhino scene was the most memorable part of the movie for me. I saw this when I was 8 years old and I still can't stop laughing everytime I see that scene.
I suppose Ace learned to get over his chiroptophobia (fear of bats). Oh, and the ones with dog/fox faces are known as fruit bats or megabats or flying foxes. Most other bats, however, have completely different faces, such as vampire bats, vesper bats, hammer-headed bats, bulldog bats, and more.
As a kid I had both this and the first one on VHS, and out of them, this is the one that I preferred watching over the other, this is the one me, my brother, and my nephew quoted for so many years, it's definitely a more interesting story in my view as well, not that the first had a bad story or anything I'm not saying that, and the fact that Jim Carrey doesn't do sequels often shows that he had to like this one to some degree
The opening scene is a reference to Cliffhanger, a classic Stallone action movie. You should watch that too. With that said, it's a bit dark scene for this movie.
I still remember watching this for the first time on telly. I was about 9-10. My parents were out on some local dance event and my sister and I were left with our grandma at home. Back in the day we used to record "worthy" movies on cassettes so that we can re-watch later. It really paid off for this film, because we could barely stop crying from laughter. Once it was over we watched it again and stopped the VHS each time we laughed, because there were parts we missed the first time around from laughing too hard.. I can't think of another movie I can place this well and it is all due to the writing and Jim Carrey. Safe to say his behaviour rubbed off on me 😀
"When nature calls," that is referring to "going to the bathroom", if you missed that reference. That first scene when the racoon falls is a reference in the movie Cliffhanger.
This has to be my favorite of Ace Ventura, my family and i watched this movie numerous. Jim Carey gave us so much joy and laughter it's a shame there's no Oscar for best comedic actor but I think in all our hearts he doesn't need one. He's bigger than that.
While I don't think most think this one is better than the first one, there are certainly a lot of people who like this one significantly more Out of comedies, Hot Shots 2 comes to mind where most people tend to prefer 2 over 1. The naked gun series is also another one that seems to split people pretty evenly between 1st & 2nd, and even the 3rd one has quite a bit of support 🤔
Vid is "old" but wanted to give a shout out to Tommy Davidson as the warrior who wrecked Ace(comedian co-worker of Jim's from "In Living Color"). Classic :D
2:20 the funny thing is in the Grinch movie he stole a yodeler’s outfit and wore similar to what Ace is wearing here. The Racoon was on a plane that crashed nearby. That scene was from Cliffhanger. 5:42 Jim Carrey adlibbed the song. He had actually forgotten his lines so he just started singing. 8:44 Jim didn’t like this about the movie. He tried to get it changed to Ace being allergic to bats instead afraid of them. He didn’t really want to do the movie but was under contract to do it and his contract was half the budget. A friend of his suggested he negotiate that fee since he didn’t want to do the film partly cause he didn’t want to be typecast as Ace Ventura. Most of the heads in the room were fake animals as the director didn’t condone killing endangered animals especially for sport. Jim improvised the sneeze when he met the tribe.
When I started secondary/high school, on one of the movie channels here, they were showing it every day after school, so there was a period of time when I'd get home from school and watch this movie every day for about a month while eating a sandwich lol.
Almost certainly coincidental, but this did release just a few months after Jim portrayed The Riddler in Batman Forever, so a fear of Bat-related things might not be too far outside realm of possibility xD !
I got to be an extra in Ace Ventura Jr, the third movie. Was super disappointed when I realized I wasn't going to meet Jim Carey, but I did get $80 a day, which was a lot for a kid.
I have a feeling most people under 40, or 35 at the very least, will have no idea that the opening scene is referencing another film; the very mid Stallone action movie, Cliffhanger.
2:48 Actually, to be pedantic about it: Although raccoons do have agile and effective hands, they don't have opposable thumbs. It's my understanding that that's why they'll often use two hands for things (like one stealing dog food in the clip you inserted).
In recent years, viruses similar to those that cause serious disease in humans and other mammals have been detected in apparently healthy bats. These include filoviruses, paramyxoviruses, and coronaviruses that cause severe diseases such as Ebola virus disease, Marburg haemorrhagic fever and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in humans. The evolution of flight in bats seem to have selected for a unique set of antiviral immune responses that control virus propagation, while limiting self-damaging inflammatory responses. In short - bats are perfect carriers, they can carry a whole cocktail of viruses without feeling the effects - shake and stir and you've got a whole new mix
The opening raccoon scene is actually a parodic reference to the opening scene to Sylvester Stallone's Cliffhanger. Now I'm gonna check and see if there are any Cliffhanger reactions.
8:23 Heh, i think Ace Venturas fear of bats was meant to be a nod to Jim Carreys previous film was "Batman Forever". Where he played the Riddler Also, I believe Jim Carrey originally wanted his character to be allergic to Bats instead of terrified of them.
Imo Ace Ventura Pet Detective is the best out of Ace Ventura Pet Detective and Ace Ventura When Nature Calls. However Ace Ventura Pet Detective When Nature Calls is still a great , hilarious movie though, but my personal favourite is definitely "Ace Ventura Pet Detective" I love the scene at the end of Ace Ventura When Nature Callls with the man and the gorilla in the jungle at the end 😂, just like Ace Ventura (Jim Carrey) And Melissa Robinson (Courtney Cox) in 🛌 on Ace Ventura Pet Detective . As Ace Ventura would do 😏. My other favourite scene on Ace Ventura When Nature Calls is when he sings Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (which I used to watch in my childhood growing up, great childhood memories) Did you know when Jim Carey aka Ace Ventura sings Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, that was improvised by Jim Carrey because he forgot his actual lines in that scene and they decide to keep it in Ace Ventura When Nature Calls movie.
FYI……. I could hear your blanket move every time you moved. I got my JBL almost all the way up & can’t hear what’s going on in the movie. I love your reaction so I’m saying so if may help channel.
The scene at the very beginning where ace Ventura is rescuing the raccoon, is making fun of the scene in the very beginning of the movie of cliffhanger, with Sylvester Stallone.
2:57 This whole scene with the raccoon was a parody of the Cliffhanger movie with Sylvester Stallone. Just a funny, yet tragic little fact for the raccoon.
Dark crimes. If you want to see a Jim Carey movie that isnt just goofy comedy, hes surprisingly good at playing it straight in a dark and brooding role.
I saw this when I was 13 years old and after I saw him in the mechanical rhino to this day whenever I am in an extremely hot or muggy place I ALWAYS say to myself WAAAAAAARMM!!! Also I die laughing whenever I see him get stabbed in both legs the spears.🤣🤣🤣
When Jim Carrey Chitty Chitty Bang Bang he forgot his line and just started singing that. The other guy is trying not to laugh but kept a straight face and went with it
the coal mines and limestone quarry's have tons of bats around us in ky. you can tell on certain summer nights the sky roars while they completely decimate the small bug population in a 2 mile radius. the sound is unmistakable only if the interstate isnt busy.
The Rhino scene will be forever seared in my head as one of the funniest things I've seen
Was about to say that. Hands down one if not the funniest scene ever in movie history!
@@justindenney-hall5875 damn! I would love to see that hahah!
I always quote the "Kinda hot in these rhinos" and "WAAARM!" lines every single time I get into hot cars in the summer.
The roar noise he does when he gets up to his shoulders makes me lose it every time 😅
I was too young to see this movie in a cinema but I heard that some people felt very uncomfortable when they saw that scene 😂
I use the like a glove line everytime i park my car 😂
So you total your car every time you park?
Like a glove!
@@scipioafricanus5871 only the ones that aren’t yours is fine lol
I love how sad she was during the raccoon scene. Totally missing the Cliffhanger reference 😂😂😂
I don’t think she’s seen it.
Cliffhanger was a good movie too. She should check it out and then she'll understand that reference.
I must have watched this movie half a dozen times at least before ever seeing Cliffhanger! The intro had me dying haha
I think you have to be at least 40, or maybe 35, to understand the reference.
This movie got me through college. When I was stressed, I'd watch this. Others drank, I laughed.
The Rhino scene is just legendary in comedy.
As a personal note I also love the Monster Truck scene.
The rhino birth scene is by far the best and funniest scene out of the whole movie! LOL 🤣
Thank you so much for doing this one!! I was disappointed that many reaction channels didn’t do it.
You're awesome, thank you so much for watching this and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for sharing!

Same here. Both on VHS. Watched both endlessly. Loved being a 90s kid
The opening scene is a reference to Cliffhanger, a classic Stallone action movie. You should watch that too. With that said, it's a bit dark scene for this movie.
Good that I not only one notice that :)
The Ah-ah-ah-ah-alrighty then is my favorite part. So happy you showed it :D

A couple of movies that were like that for me -- missing significant portions due to laughter -- were Bringing Up Baby and Airplane!
Rhino is all I gotta say
It's kinda hot in those
I compare the weather to that.
“WARRRMMM!!”
@@Lord_Raptor Yeah, the military had to retire those spy Rhinos because of the heating problem.
"When nature calls," that is referring to "going to the bathroom", if you missed that reference.

Terminator 2 is a good sequel lol and I love Ace Ventura 2 .
Alllllllrighty then
I had a pet fruit bat once. He was the sweetest little thing ever
The scene where he gets hit in both of his legs with spears and screams in pain will always be my favorite

The Rhino scene should have won this movie an Oscar.
While I don't think most think this one is better than the first one, there are certainly a lot of people who like this one significantly more

Down here in Houston we have bat's under the bridges as well
The beginning is a parody of the opening of the movie Cliffhanger
Vid is "old" but wanted to give a shout out to Tommy Davidson as the warrior who wrecked Ace(comedian co-worker of Jim's from "In Living Color"). Classic :D

2:20 the funny thing is in the Grinch movie he stole a yodeler’s outfit and wore similar to what Ace is wearing here. The Racoon was on a plane that crashed nearby. Hilarious movie! I loved the reaction.
Opening scene of Ace Ventura when nature calls Was reference to the movie, Cliff hanger
This movie simultaneously has the saddest and funniest scenes

Slinky Slinky Slinky everybody loves a Slinky. Can I try one more time.😂
the climbing scene with the racoon is a reference to the movie Cliffhanger that stars sylvester stallone
15:12 😂😂😂😂😂
You will love his movie Me, Myself, and Irene!
Yes… Me, Myself and Irene was his most under appreciated movie. It’s a crime how much that movie flew under the radar
Everybody says that Cable Guy was under appreciated.. no, Me, Myself and Irene was way more underrated
Now it's time for the "Truman Show". One of the greatest films of all time starring Jim Carrey
2:48 Actually, to be pedantic about it: Although raccoons do have agile and effective hands, they don't have opposable thumbs. It's my understanding that that's why they'll often use two hands for things (like one stealing dog food in the clip you inserted).
Just so you know, that beginning scene was a spoof of the movie "cliffhanger" with sylvester Stallone
In recent years, viruses similar to those that cause serious disease in humans and other mammals have been detected in apparently healthy bats. 😆
Chiiiiiii.......cago!
Its the scene everyone! She's going to be reacting to THAT scene. You know
Funfact the little Washuchu Warrior is played by Tommy Davidson..His Costar back from..the (In Living Color) Days
Jim Carrey actually hated the whole “afraid of bats” thing and argued with the director to change it to being allergic.
That opening sequence with the raccoon was a parody of Cliffhanger, another movie you should definitely watch if you haven't yet.
Assuming she doesn't show The Mask first.
That gorilla gave him the Eric Andre treatment.😂
Yo shout out from San Marcos tx
The Raccoon Scene was a Parody of Sylvester Stallone movie (Cliffhanger)..came out the same Year
We need a third one lol
There are five times in my life in which I laughed so hard it was painful. One of these times was the rhino scene.
8:23 Heh, i think Ace Venturas fear of bats was meant to be a nod to Jim Carreys previous film was "Batman Forever". Where he played the Riddler
Also, I believe Jim Carrey originally wanted his character to be allergic to Bats instead of terrified of them.
He doesn't like bats cause he was acting in a Batman movie around the same time as the Riddler 😅
7:22 that describes me to a tee lol
8:25 they do not look like dogs, that looks like a rat and also the bigger ones look much uglier

watch the Stallone movie Cliffhanger to get the Racoon reference at the beginning.
