Skullbriar would definitely NOT get the counter before it dies. Although Skullbriar's ability would go on the stack, it would die before it resolved. When it finally did resolve, it would place no counters on it, because spells and abilities cannot "find" cards that have changed zones.
Little late, but love gyruda. Highly recommend panharmonicon, mortuary (for the infinite), and dauthi voidwalker (protection from anti mill. Love the deck with my life
@@zandaman802 pharm is in the list. I intentionally avoid mortuary in this version because i don't want the infinite, and dauthi locks some players out of the game so I left it out! glad you like it!
Getting a massive Eldrazi for free is definitely something I love. I have Ulamog in my Kaust deck and my tech is to manifest it from my hand or top deck and then either blink it or use Kaust to flip it during combat
Great episode! I do feel bad for Taalia tho. Seemed a bit out of it, and if she used top and scroll rack a bit better she could've got that win a couple turns sooner. I do play Yuriko a lot so I can understand the gymnastics required to get the mist out of her. Still a great showing of the deck, and the other decks seemed to do some pretty fun stuff too! That even mill deck was really fun to see in action!
I thought wastes wasn't a basic land for a second so was very confused when the sword searched one then I realised I was just confused cause wastes is a basic land but it isn't a basic land type
Swords of heart and home flickering back things that you own is actually a trick I learned from Olivia here, I was so confused when she said it wouldnt work
"If I'm talking sh*, I'm probably harmless" is so Olivia coded. That, together with the extremely honest closed-eyes head shake or nods when someone (other than Kibler) actually bothers to ask her if she's a threat/about to wreak havoc is why I appreciate her so much as a player. Also Taalia forgetting she's holding a counterspell made me breathe my drink, how dare.
my neurospicy brain wishes that there was an on-screen indicator of whose turn it is (bold their box, put a star in the corner of their box) and I wonder if there’s an out of the box tool that would put a speaker highlight next to each person (Eilidh is blue this game so a blue speaker icon would show when she is speaking). sometimes it’s hard to know quickly who is speaking otherwise.
The game is fairly high power, but wow that Yuriko list is pubstomp central. The only reason the table survived so long is that Talia didn’t get a fairly doable 2nd ninja trigger till her last turn. They did mention they wanted a fast game, but Eilidh had to fall on her sword to give the rest of the table a chance.
What happened here was that the 1/1 who couldn't block (or be blocked) didn't actually attack during the entire game - and as you can see, that 1 damage was important ;) In addition, the error with placing Ninja on top (and then not saving him with TOP) also had a huge impact on the game. Nevertheless, it must also be admitted that Gyruda had tragic luck with milling - most often this deck works in such a way that once it starts, 10 Gyruda appear on the table because of all the clones that are milled.
The 6 drop wouldve been draw off the green instant eilidh played so that mightve saved cmdrmechanic and then u never kniw if the memoral cast wouldve given the rhystic study the draw she needed
rules question. if skullbriar has counter (in the command zone, and enters while there is a counter modifier( hardened scales etc), does it have an effect?
From the rulings for Skullbriar: "The counters that remain on Skullbriar as it changes zones aren’t “placed” on Skullbriar. Effects like Doubling Season’s and Melira, Sylvok Outcast’s won’t affect those counters."
I'm fairly sure it doesn't: 1. All the damage here is dealt simultaneously. In short, the Baleful Strix gets marked for damage, Taalia take trample damage, Skullbriar's combat damage to a player triggers, and Skullbriar takes deathtouch damage and is directly sent to the graveyard (with all of its counters, as its ability says). 2. With all damage resolved, state based actions are performed, which kills the Strix, and lets Eilidh move Skullbriar to the command zone. 3. The triggered ability is put on the stack before a player receives priority and after state based actions are done (see CR 117.5 and 603.3), so the ability is on the stack after Skullbriar has left the battlefield. 4. Players pass priority to resolve the triggered ability. The ability's directions state to put a counter on Skullbriar, but this is actually referring to the game object that was on the battlefield when the ability triggered. Now that Skullbriar is the command zone, it is a different game object (see CR 400.7). This would also be true if Eilidh chose to leave Skullbriar in the graveyard. The ability fails to locate the game object it requires, and does nothing.
Skullbriar would definitely NOT get the counter before it dies. Although Skullbriar's ability would go on the stack, it would die before it resolved. When it finally did resolve, it would place no counters on it, because spells and abilities cannot "find" cards that have changed zones.
*learns how Yuriko works*
"What a b***h!"
Yeah, that's a correct assessment.
Wow what a fast game. That ulamog went on a trip through the multiverse. And came down super early too
Best intro ever!
"Smash, Bell, Sponsor! Players! Decks!"
One of the funniest and wildest games of magic. Also thanks Olivia, I made a Liliana themed deck as well. My friends hate it though hehehe
I am so happy to see Eilidh's sleeves, I thought I was the only one that used the Magic back sleeves
Oh hey I know them!

I see Taalia, I click
Feels like the fastest game I the series so far. Great game.
I love that you guys are all so genuine and real, there’s none of that annoying over acted stuff that other people do for attention/clicks
When you read out the sword and it said own i got so excited what a fun little interaction
I thought wastes wasn't a basic land for a second so was very confused when the sword searched one then I realised I was just confused cause wastes is a basic land but it isn't a basic land type
I call my names the wrong cards frequently

Im so confused why did Eilidh equip the equipment after combat???? 18:08
It was my freebie from Fight Rigging I believe so I couldn't equip at instant speed.
Great to see Taalia back on the show!
Ooooh, anyone know where Taalia's playmat is from?

Love Sword of Hearth and Home. It does work in my Sedris deck 😁
Fun game to watch. Thanks for sharing.
I love Taalia’s playmat!
"Hi, Jinks!", said the Elder Dragon
Okay what the heck is Taalia’s playmat and where do you get it?!

I need that sukllbriar list... Been working on my own for him and know I'm probably missing a bunch of good includes xD
Another Yuriko game, lets go Ninja's, some nasty commanders in here, should be a great game
Watches EDH: "Kill Olivia first."
Watches CaH: "Ignore Olivia, she's harmless."
🤣
Nice Wind Rose reference.
WHERE DID TAALIA GET THAT PLAYMAT I NEED IT
How is Olivia so lethal on Hijinks but not on Commander at Home it's so fun
It’s just the script, lol

Oh no Taalia just needed to attack Olivia with her other unblockable creature she would have won. I have made that mistake way too many times.
the amount of missed rhystic study triggers is really brutal LOL
Doesn't Gyruda stop you from running odd cmc cards in the deck? Genuinely don't know that's why I'm asking.
Only when you run it as a companion
I think the first Skullbriar cast doesn’t work with only a Tainted wood and forest on the battlefield, unfortunately. 😅
This is the highest form of nonsense. Tomfoolery. Big fan!😂
Yuriko,, let’s go!
I like the skullbriar sleeves
People just letting Yuriko with top deck manipulation live... only Eilidh figured out she was a problem! (albeit a bit late!)
wish the Skullbriar deck list was out :(
I'll get it added soonest!
The 6 drop wouldve been draw off the green instant eilidh played so that mightve saved cmdrmechanic and then u never kniw if the memoral cast wouldve given the rhystic study the draw she needed
Why are the guests’ socials not in the description?

There is a massive astrix next to "if im talking shit im probably harmless” that reads ” "probably" or shes in the tank."
has alias been in gameknights?
Threat assesment: yes.
I really hate Yuriko though.
JUST SAIYAN; Taalia with the dark hair color….. MWAH…….
Oh! Wait! My Invisible Stalker could have won me the game… Nooooo!!!!
🤩🤩🤩🤩
Taalia always reminds me of my daughter.
Sword is you own not control btw
Skullbriar definitely gets the counter before it dies to Baleful Strix.
Can you explain why?
I'm fairly sure it doesn't:
@@41F this was my reading as well
Wait, who won, it was unclear, Taalia should have, no ?
Always nice to see cute girls playing magic. It gives us guys living in Mom and Dad's basement hope 👍
