Well, I spend a lot of time researching food, so if I am a bit thin, start doing more sport or have a little weight to lose, I can eyeball my food acordingly. I find it pretty easy to "unnoticing" over or undereat dependend on very small changes in my choice of food. But it is never much I need to change and in a way I already did the prepwork you are advising. For someone who does not have nutrition and the sience behind eating as a hobby, there would be no way to just eyeball it, especialy if they have way bigger goals than I. Now for aip I totaly log everything I eat and while I pretty much ignore the calorie section, it still is very interesting and eyeopening in regard of the micronutriens! It is so easy to get all your calories, and almost nothing else you need. Foodloging is a great tool to start understanding how foods need to be combined and just how fast calories add up.
Can you show us what you eat in a typical day? I am struggling with how to keep calories at a reasonable amount while following the AIP. The majority of the AIP recipes out there are either very high in calories from oils and coconut milk or they involve combining fats and carbs, which seems to cause weight gain for me. Help!

Peanutbutter is a great source of nutrients and protein, if you are a starving child in africa. Thats when it is great and healthy, if you realy need all the calories you can get for a single spoon. Or if you have a health problem that makes it hard to eat enough, than it is great too, but not for weightloss or lean protein.
Eat plenty of starchy tubers and healthy fats and try out some of the AIP baked goods recipes made with cassava flour or tiger nut flour, these are all very calorically dense and tasty!
@@RealWorldAIP oh wow. i'm curious, what is your favorite dessert/treat on AIP? i'm on it 2.5 weeks now and it's been rough, had to say no to everything i used to love like chocolate, cheese and ice cream. i don't even know what treats i can have now other than berries lol.
@@moondragon05 my favorite treat is a 16 oz NY sirloin. I eat a lot of apples lol. I think I have just effectively brainwashed myself to view sugary foods as poison that won't nourish me or help me achieve fitness goals and I don't even want it. Just want to fuel my engine with premium fuel for performance. I'm a weirdo 😆
Why are you recommending to measure with spoons? You take your jar and put it on the scale! Weigh out your portions, spoons and cups are notoriously inaccurate. And how many ppl are eating BLTs on AIP?
Not everyone has a scale. Someone just starting out logging food probably doesn't have one yet. This video is not about how to log food on AIP, it is about how to log food period. But I actually have made BLT sandwiches that were AIP compliant using my bread recipe and faumatoes🤷♀️
