I will say that, as a player who prefers MyTeam/Play Now, we are the vast minority of the player base. Of course, I have no hate towards the park and rec players. it's just not my cup of tea. It's more of a grind, more expensive, more toxicity, I don't like the fast-paced dibble spam style , etc. Havent played MC since 2k17. the last one I liked was 16. Anyway, I play sports games to experience a simulated broadcast game of the real-life counterpart. I dont really care to add my own persona in the game and have my own player. I care more about the real players/ ProPlay movement, crowds, areans, announcers, and more. Nevertheless, a competitor would make a great compromise for both sides. It will be 2K a reason to invest more time and money to fix the fundamental issue so that the community can at least come to a cease fire
I buy NBA2k every couple of years. I haven't played online or gotten into the game for several years. 2017 or 2018. One thing that I've noticed this year is that veteran players will treat you like shit and try to talk you into quitting the game. I am not the best player but I know how to play my build and I have good games and bad just like everyone else. That is the state of the game. We play with the veterans that grind all day an night and we also get the guys that work a 60 hour week and come online to play some basketball. Some of the people that play this game are toxic. Some are amazing and try to coach and tell me what I can do better. This is why I come back to this game time and time again. I have become a better player because of these guys. My point is: I get not being happy with the state of the game but instead of complaining try to come at the problems with some solutions that would make it better. Maybe we can get some traction and get the fixes we agree that are needed in this game.
I played 24 and was the worst game experience for me ever I’d rank 24[1] . 25 seems to have made better Improvements server and shooting wise although still random . I’d rank 25 [6.5] just because it’s a 2K product and the community is literally only getting the bare minimum the quests along with the creativity seems recycled and updated but it’s the same outcome as before, season pass just another money grab . Never known a game company to be as greedy and lazy as 2k

He makes very valid points and has good complaints. In 2k25 I have met some of the most low of the low people to play with, racism on both sides, the people that think they are elite but due to SBMM it tells me they are actually playing on the same level as I am. They are just too dumb to realize that. All in all I am having fun. I try not to take it so seriously though.

2k is definitely the worst community that I ever been in. I still remember when Geesice got to 99 in 2k18 and someone hacked him and he ended up losing his account over it. The fact that people would go out their way to hack others and destroy what they have in 2k and other things in general is just very scummy. Not to mention the whole selling games because you're upset you don't get the ball, you miss one shot and never get the ball back or even the case of people literally being a ball hog and not making the correct play to try to win is beyond frustrating. It don't make sense for someone to have to feel stressed and irritated playing a game and unfortunately 2k is one of those games that makes people feel that way.
You might see people AFK on other games but you never see mfs giving up mid game or intentionally selling like 2k .. alot I suspect a lot of problems are coming from the SBMM

I’m standing in the paint 80 interior defense and a pure lockdown with no finishing can just run to the paint and score because when I’m holding the stick my player just decides to put his hands down. I've only ever cared for black ops 2 gtav and nba 2k19-24 I made the decisions to stop playing 2k and I don't regret it there's free games that take up your time better and I thought the same as most of you "hoops is all I can get into" but going from spending 500$ a week or month to just having the money opens up many other avenues or things to do

I’m trying to learn how to dribble online. I made a pg build bc all the pgs I play with don’t pass so I wanted to be that change. I’m learning how to dribble and max quick icon passes. I'm still playing 2k24. I'm not buying 25 and I'm done with 2k when 24 servers close down. I hate this game. i love basketball, though. I got all the way to purple plates for the first time ever without using boost or gatorades. I was playing perfectly. As soon as i got into gold and purple plate, the game started making me play like an idiot. Forcing me to spend my VC on boost because i was tired of missing open shots. He's still missing open shots, i can't catch the ball, i can't dunk, i can't defend this is all with boost and gatorades it nerfed my build. My build is useless now. I hate this game.

New patch did nothing but make paint defense so horrible that the game is unplayable. I’m standing in the paint 80 interior defense and a pure lockdown with no finishing can just run to the paint and score because when I’m holding the stick my player just decides to put his hands down. Than I jump for a contest and get a animation that puts me out of play evertime

You even have groups of people who do this internationally, as I came across a group of trolls from Mexico, making rounds in Mass Effect Multi-player (of all things). I will say this, the 2K community is the highest profile and most visible of any toxic community. The true people that care, get tired of this crap and leave the community. I have bought every 2k from 2k20 until 2k24 and here’s the cycle: 2k starts with a good game where offense and defense are balanced, the community whines, 2k patches the game and makes it worse, the community again complains and claim they want a skill gap, so 2k again starts the cycle. I support you buying the game since you create great content but I won’t be a part of the “matrix”
By the way, if you want nice 2k content, watch Saint Hardaway, Ol Dog Smoke, and waff6ix. They’re not huge but they are good

I've only ever cared for black ops 2 gtav and nba 2k19-24 I made the decisions to stop playing 2k and I don't regret it there's free games that take up your time better and I thought the same as most of you "hoops is all I can get into" but going from spending 500$ a week or month to just having the money opens up many other avenues or things to do

I’m trying to learn how to dribble online. I made a pg build bc all the pgs I play with don’t pass so I wanted to be that change. I’m learning how to dribble and max quick icon passes. I don’t think it’s coincidental that 2k being the most expensive, manipulative, and wildly greedy game coincides with a fed up and toxic community. The entire design is FOMO and EOMM to give you anxiety that you need to be on more to have what you need to do better AKA (a cap breaker in the pass). As someone who has gamed since not Minecraft but since the Nintendo NES and who hosted Quake tournaments in middle school I’d say Rainbow 6 the most toxic, NHL and NBA the most racist communities but NBA stands alone as the worst game at all points that matter. I'm still playing 2k24. I'm not buying 25 and I'm done with 2k when 24 servers close down. I hate this game. i love basketball, though. I got all the way to purple plates for the first time ever without using boost or gatorades. I was playing perfectly. As soon as i got into gold and purple plate, the game started making me play like an idiot. Forcing me to spend my VC on boost because i was tired of missing open shots. He's still missing open shots, i can't catch the ball, i can't dunk, i can't defend this is all with boost and gatorades it nerfed my build. My build is useless now. I hate this game.
