Good morning Mike and Melissa, really liked the video this morning. Lots of good information and showing lots of how you do things. Excellent job with the tractor and land plane. Tricky how you brought it all together. The sawmill work is real inspiring and shows what you can do if you get a mill. Melissa, whatever you do on your channel will work out for you and us. Information about Hunter and the day care will be so helpful for young parents who are just getting started and those other folks who may be friends with them. It’s surprising how people don’t understand and can’t cope. Your daily activity’s give folks ideas what others do and maybe get them to try other things. We just enjoy watching your channels and seeing things we maybe missed while we were growing older or it might give us ideas how we can do things so we can enjoy life and grow old gracefully and maybe help others ourselves. You folks and your families ROCK and your making rocks to build on. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.

Unless your driveway is flat, process gravel will always wash out when it rains. I've said it before...get road millings, spread them out 2-3 inches thick, pack them in with your tractor and they will melt in when it gets hot. I have a driveway with a 6-8% grade and the millings have not washed out in four years.

Was just thinking - the front bucket has long sturdy tines as you pointed out in one of your videos. One or two initial passes with tines slightly pointed down and a few inches under would nicely break up a highly compacted surface. However, as you demonstrated your back end grader (?) device did just fine.

Hey, Mike. One thought: You may want to eventually climb atop your outbuilding(s) roof(s) to clear snow, blow leaves, make repairs, etc. Consider adding 1/2" CDX roof deck before applying "Pro-Panel," or equivalent roofing. Adds to expense ($750-$1000?), but a solid substrate also helps to square up framing, solidify structure, handle unexpected snow-load, etc. Also prevents damage to steel panels while walking around...

To make a gravel road that doesn't wash away, you have to compact it. Put down your crush and run gravel, then some sand, then some cement (or any other powdered stone, cement is usually the most readily available) and compact it, compact it then compact it some more. The sand and powdered stone fill all the gaps that are normally left when you use just gravel. That and the compaction make it much less likely for the water to penetrate, and more likely to run off, especially if it's graded right.
Full dimensional lumber.. must be nice. I'd rather see that pretty wood made into furniture and such, where you can still get to see it. I know it's only pine, but pine can be quite lovely with a bit of stain to bring out the grain patterns.

How about a tour of the house. I have been drawing houses since I found some drawings my dad made when I was about 10. So I guess it’s appropriate I am a CAD designer now. So I am always interested in innovative things you have done to solve little problems.
I have this funny idea to make a lazy Susan in my living room. Like a lazy Susan corner cabinet in a kitchen. I want one in one in the corner of my living room that has a depth of about 6 feet. It would have a latch on the wall and would spin giving me 4 corners that I could decorate for certain times of the year then spin it for the occasion and latch it in place. One of the corners would be generic for most of the year like a display cabinet. One would be Christmas where the Christmas tree would go. I would mount the tree or stand for a live tree to the floor so it wouldn’t fall over when I rotate it. One would be for Easter. The last would be patriotic for Memorial Day, Independence Day, veteran’s day, etc. So I am talking about ideas like that.

Try Bunker Branding for your shirts. Very good quality at a great price. They are not in a stay at home area.
