Mike I have found in my 75 years here on this earth and the many things I have built there is NO right or wrong way to do things, what ever is right for you and you are comfortable with it. Just my 2 cents worth. Have a day.
Yah, but I always look for a better, longer lasting way of accomplishment. My father-in-law is 90 and still remodeling homes himself and he has always look for and taken advice for a better way.
Im a handyman and in alll my years as such Ive seen a lot of professionals who couldn't do half as good a job as you two. Keep on inspiring the do it yourselfers.
I've been a carpenter for over 40 YEARS and couldn't have done a better job GREAT work MIKE your also bless by having a wife with a smile as big as hers Give her the pool
Fasinating how many entries you get when you are giving something away. I guess ther's an element of greed in all of us. Keep up the good videos and God bless your family
Yelp. I noticed that on the first give away. Sometimes people just disappoint me, people in my county here in rural Virginia sure have disappointed me during this time of sickness.
I agree. All the hoarders really opened my eyes again. Saw the same thing on 911 when the price of gas jumped and people lined up impatiently at the pumps. Read the book “one second after” and this whole covid 19 will chill you right to your bones.
Mike, I was taught the same method to cut rafter tails, by a carpenter with forty years experience. Told me boy that’s the best way to have straight eves!!
Nice you got more progress on the wood shed!! Oh I thought Melissa was going to anounce that she was Getting her POOL she is so desperately craving!! But it was just about a Puppy!! 🐶👍👊
Amid the isolation and loneliness of COVID-19 one finds enjoyment, hope, and peace. A family sharing their lives, their family, and so much more through a social media platform; a ray of hope, a comforting peace conveyed, all revealed in the simple things life has to offer. Thank you Morgan Family for sharing so much,
Melissa, when we go out to dinner with other folks, my wife says that she sits right next to me so that she can cover my mouth or kick me under the table if I’m talking too much. LOL
We just watched your last video on our tv. You cannot make a comment on it. So I got on the computer to tell you we really enjoy your videos. We found your channel last fall and been watching ever since. You and your wife remind us of our self. We always work together on projects. We are both retired now and not able to do as much as we use to. Keep up the good work and stay safe. We are staying home only getting out when we have too. So good by now from Arkansas
Always enjoy watching episodes of Outdoors With The Morgans no matter what your day's timetable leads you to do. The woodshed is really going to be a useful addition on the homestead and a great test build using the red pine. Looking forward to the new puppy becoming a family member and seeing it grow up with TY. Have a Day!
Oh my heart! Seeing Eva ride into the scene on the e-bike and the bright smile, such energy and joy. The thought instantly came to mind, if she had safety glasses or goggles her eyes wouldn't water. Then I thought of the broken hearts in the making if she were to have a fall on the trails. PLEASE, all of you consider helmets of some description. I'm not talking full on DOT gear, but some kind of protection. Rocks, mud, branches, critters, one just never knows and all it takes is a split second. I'm a retired firefighter and have heard; "I was just..." far too many times. You are all precious, please protect yourselves. I'm not being judgmental, just sharing my compassion for a loving family.
Mike Your woodshed looks professionally built. It should stand for a long time. I feel like I learned a lot watching the building progress. I'm looking forward to watching what the two of you are able to build in the coming months and years. There may be a faster way of doing something but I don't think you could have done it any better as it looks near perfect.
Wood shed is looking really good. I've been gather materials to put up something similar to keep my old tractor and a couple implements in. Have a day! Stay safe all!
I get a kick out of you two. I left the farm a long time ago and all you do takes me back. Wish I could do it again, but those times are past. Keep up the good work!
Mike, you might not be a professional carpenter but you are doing a fine job on that storage shed. One thought, take those long pallets you have and create 'shelves' out of them and stack your tractor attachments in the shed. You can always stack them with 4x4 legs and they will be strong enough. Melissa, keep wishing for the pool.
Right now in west MI it is 35*, feels like 26*, we are on a freeze warning until 9 am tomorrow but then it's supposed to be 50* for a high. As we say here, if you don't like the weather, wait a minute, it will change. Can't wait to see the new puppy. I'll bet Hunter will love it. HI HUNTER!!!
I have worn all brands of boots and glad I found Ariat a few years ago . They have been the best for me and I'm on my feet 12-14 hrs a day at work . I have an identical pair to wear on my off days working around the property too .
Another great video! One thing we do with our feeders is cut treated 2x6 squares to set the post on, cheaper than the metal brackets and the post will create a groove in the board with the weight of the feed. We do the same with the base of our ladder stands.
You’ve got it good, Mike! Here in Northern Colorado I’ve got 10.5” of snow on my lawn and we had 9.5” for Easter Sunday; 20” in 4 days! Just a little bit of excessive! Sure hope this is the last snow this spring. Enjoy your beautiful weather.
I framed houses back when I was in high school for extra money. We always cut the tails off after they were up. But we used a chainsaw. We would snap a line. Walk the top plate with a chainsaw and just hang it over there and cut them off. We always had to put a facia board on it to pass inspection anyway.
Name for Melissa’s channel ... Melissa Unfiltered. 😂 Thanks for the building tutorial as I have done some of that, but never really knew the names and why it was required. Makes a lot more sense now. Also, those of us with organizational anxiety appreciate you moving the deer feeder. It was affecting our sleep. And congrats on the new addition to the family. 🐕 Hey Hunter! ✋🏻👴🏻
The shed is really looking good. Hope you get some good video of the staining. Glad to hear you all found another puppy. It will get spoiled around your house but that is why you get them. Take care and see you tomorrow. Jim in wet Tennessee
Woodshed is coming along really well...looks Awesome! Congratulations on getting a new pup...can't wait to see that video when it shows up. One last thing....I have my Ariat order all ready to go, just waiting for this gift card. LOL.
The more we watch your videos the more we enjoy them. Thank you for giving us something to look forward to during this extended time at home. Many of the other channels have gone to once a week.
Like what you do. Saw your #1 post earlier today you were about 100 miles from where my father's family is, big difference from the eastern shore of Maryland. You and your family be safe
Mike and Melissa, I like your wood shed. You have done an outstanding job not to be a carpenter. Also looking forward to see your saw mill building when it is completed. Have a great weekend.
You say you're not a pro, but you are doing an amazing job on the wood shed. Now lets see how the she shed/pool house turn out...Thanks for all the great videos.
I'm a builder in the UK and when I construct roofs I cut the rafter legs the same way as Mike, I find it's the most accurate way of getting the facia boards bang on straight.
You keep saying that your not a carpenter but your shed is beautiful and I think you know how good you are, You just say these types of things in case you would overlook something or make a mistake and then you could say “I told you I am not a carpenter.”
You are able to stretch out the completion to a project with the best of them. Every time I look at a video, I think I'm going to see the completion of the "wood shed" but nooooooo... you're going to finish it next time! It really has come out good and will be a useful addition to the wood yard.
Hey guys, I just found your videos and I love them. I have had land and horses before I had gotten older and needed to be near hospitals. So ya'll keep it up cuz it gives an ole boy from Texas some great family videos to watch. Take care, Joe Aboulhosn
I love the videos where you are building stuff like the wood shed and the mini-cabin. We are constantly building out here on the farm and I get some really good ideas from your projects and processes. Keep up the good work.
I was watching you dump the gravel in the shed and I must say you were making me nervous about hitting the shed pole and front header !!! Glad you were watching 👍
Hey! The trees by the swing set would make some nice lumber and then the area would be cleared for Melissa's pool. What a novel idea - and think you wouldn't have to mow that small area. Wood shed is looking great, but I have to wonder as good as it looks the shed for the mill will probably look like the Taj Mahal. Nice work Melissa and Mike!
Hi Mike. I'm sure you know this but at a MINIMUM put the front and back fascia boards on before you get on that roof to install more purloins or the roofing. Without blocking you could roll the whole roof sideways. I'd put one row of blocking between every other rafter down the middle if I was doing the build.
Mike I have found in my 75 years here on this earth and the many things I have built there is NO right or wrong way to do things, what ever is right for you and you are comfortable with it. Just my 2 cents worth. Have a day.
Agreed!
The wood shed is looking mighty fine. You keep saying you’re not a carpenter but I’d be pretty happy with your skills!
Your videos are awesome Mike and Melissa 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I've been a carpenter for over 40 YEARS and couldn't have done a better job GREAT work MIKE your also bless by having a wife with a smile as big as hers Give her the pool

Really clipping along on the wood shed, looks good. Been watching your channel for awhile and really appreciate your work. Keep up the great videos 👍.
Making my coffee here outside Chicago, watching Mike now his grass for the second time, and wondering why I have 4 inches of fresh snow on the ground.
LOL, Pittsburgh's closer to the equator!
Mike and Melissa...your new woodshed in very well made....you can take pride in your workmanship!
Mike, that was such a revelation for me, the way you lay your stone, I used to just work from a large pile with a shovel and rake
Wood shed is looking great! Hope you’re going to stagger the joints on the roof purlins, it will help stiffen up the roof! 💪🏻
Mike, I was taught the same method to cut rafter tails, by a carpenter with forty years experience. Told me boy that’s the best way to have straight eves!!
OK, y'all asked for it, so here's my comment! --> "COMMENT"
I feel same way. You have a great day.
AWESOME idea Larry! 👍😃
That’s nice! Maybe take a 100 bucks of your own and find someone you described and start the motion of gratitude. My wife and I have!
I wish my dad was still alive. He would love watching you guys. Thank you
It’s got to be satisfying to not only build the lumber shed, but build it from lumber you cut on the sawmill. Great job. It looks great.
Melissa’s Resort - a she-shed, workout rooms, and covered pool. You could sell tickets 😊
and sauna
This shed is almost the right size for Hunter's firewood business.
Mike, you might as well give in and build Melissa her swimming pool cause you know you can't win this battle. lol
GOA💪💪🖒🖒
Nice you got more progress on the wood shed!! Oh I thought Melissa was going to anounce that she was Getting her POOL she is so desperately craving!! But it was just about a Puppy!! 🐶👍👊

I wish everyone would stop calling it “Outdoor” With The Morgans it’s “OUTDOORS” With The Morgans. Sheesh!!
Omg right...
Not a big deal.
Jeffrey Stein . Glad you said it. I’ve definitely been thinking it.
relax...watch the video....and relax some more...its all good.
Right on Pedro!
" She Shed " other wise known as "Pool House" Lol

Good job on the shed Morgans!! Mike you did it right by snapping a line and cutting off the rafters last. Now you will have straight fascia boards!👍👍
Always impressed with your tractor work...spreading gravel is one of your core skills.
Oh my heart! Seeing Eva ride into the scene on the e-bike and the bright smile, such energy and joy. The thought instantly came to mind, if she had safety glasses or goggles her eyes wouldn't water. Longer video than normal!!! What a treat! Favorite channel on UA-cam. Hi Hunter!!!
Can never have too many dogs! Congratulations on your new addition. Magical things will happen with the third dog
I get a kick out of you two. I left the farm a long time ago and all you do takes me back. Wish I could do it again, but those times are past. Keep up the good work!
Looking great! Don't worry about how you build your projects compared to others. It's not the route you take but arriving at your destination.
You are well set with your tools kind sir. Obviously one hard working family!!👍
I watch new videos everyday, glad to see that there is actually some American's that take pride in doing their own work.
That is one awesome wood shed you’re building there. I also love your property. Be safe and be healthy!

This snow is crazy! I'm in Ashtabula County, OH and I'm done with the snow. Need to get some work done!! Stay safe!
Who'd've figured people would watch videos of you cutting the grass? Keep it up. Love the videos!
That is great that you're going to get a new puppy in about four weeks. Looking forward to the new arrival. God Bless

Mike & Melissa you did a great job of framing the wood shed. I’ve been a contractor for over 30 years and I appreciate your eye for the details.
Here in Nebraska mowed the grass one day, 70 degrees, and had snow the next day. What a spring!
Hi M & M, This is your neighbor to the north in Caledonia, NY. I am enjoying the wood shed build. Can't wait to see that puppy.
Nice job on the wood shed! We are hunkered down here in Minnesota. Time to open up the country. I like your good work ethic, Mike and Melissa!!
Love the new building you will have it full in no time!! I always think we should all build twice the size we actually need.
That is one GREAT woodshed. Looks well built. Cannot wait to see it finished.
The shed is looking real good Mike. You got that stone dumping down pretty good must be your first or second time !
I have worn all brands of boots and glad I found Ariat a few years ago . They have been the best for me and I'm on my feet 12-14 hrs a day at work . I have an identical pair to wear on my off days working around the property too .

You did right on the rafters !!! Like you said if it is off square you can adjust !!! Love what y'all do !! Keep it up !!!
We love your Vlogs and we love that shed...Keep it going....He has Risen Indeed
It’s great to get outside and be active - y’all be safe
You referred this as a small test project, but it is plenty big enough for me. Great job. Love it.
The shed is looking great! You have a good logical approach to building. Keep it up!
You're videos are soothing to watch. I get so many ideas from the things you do around your place.
Just came in off the tractor to watch. I need to build an attachment shed about that size. Maybe with pallet racks to stack attachments.
Shed is looking great. Enjoy the daily updates.
Great job on the wood shed. Can't wait to see what is next on your list. Have a great day!!
Great job on your wood shed! I really enjoy you and your family and all the things you do.
Glad to see the shed coming on to completion ! Looks great!
Mike and Melissa, thanks for the videos. Please keep em coming. Miss seeing Hunter!
Love the wood shed!!! Great work. Keep up the good work guys. Thanks for the family friendly vids.
The more we watch your videos the more we enjoy them. Thank you for giving us something to look forward to during this extended time at home. Many of the other channels have gone to once a week.
Love the Morgan’s. Thanks for posting.
Like what you do. Saw your #1 post earlier today you were about 100 miles from where my father's family is, big difference from the eastern shore of Maryland. You and your family be safe
Mike, you are really getting good at spreading that rock with the tractor.
The wood shed is looking great...can't wait to see what is next.
Mike and Melissa, I like your wood shed. You have done an outstanding job not to be a carpenter. Also looking forward to see your saw mill building when it is completed. Have a great weekend.

Sickens/ Cetol is great stuff. it comes in various colors. Teak looks good. Lasts for years.
Our greening lawn is still under snow from the storm this past weekend. I'm actually looking forward to mowing the lawn as a change of pace.
You keep saying that your not a carpenter but your shed is beautiful and I think you know how good you are, You just say these types of things in case you would overlook something or make a mistake and then you could say “I told you I am not a carpenter.”
It finally got up to 66 F here in eastern WA, warmest day of the year so far. But, we can see all 4 seasons again anytime in April.
Mike great job on the woodshed can’t wait to see you when it’s all finished

That red pine is beautiful and the freshly sawn boards don't seem to bow or warp as easily. Love the channel! Cheers.
Mike, you're giving me the itch to build something! The shed is looking great!
Hey guys, I just found your videos and I love them. I have had land and horses before I had gotten older and needed to be near hospitals. So ya'll keep it up cuz it gives an ole boy from Texas some great family videos to watch.

Looking forward to seeing the new puppy. Also Mike mentioned doing a pole barn a while back. Now that would be a cool project to watch unfold.
Looking good Morgan's. Its always nice when you can check that items off your to do list.
Woodshed looks great! Here in North Central PA we got anywhere from a few inches to a foot of snow. Yarrgh :) Have a good weekend guys
I was watching you dump the gravel in the shed and I must say you were making me nervous about hitting the shed pole and front header !!! Glad you were watching 👍
Thanks for FINALLY putting up the last boards in the corner. 😁😁
Hello Mike and Melissa. From Southern Michigan. Hope to see you again at Buckinstock. Keep splitting on!!!.

Without blocking you could roll the whole roof sideways. I'd put one row of blocking between every other rafter down the middle if I was doing the build.
Mike, I think you made a smart move cutting off the ends of the rafters after they were up, they look great.
Great video as always. Awesome workmanship on the wood shed. Keep up the incredible work.
