Honestly, she needs to find herself. She was so spicy when she first came out, everyone genuinely liked her. She lets fandoms and naysayers get under her skin, very easily triggered. She needs to become more strategic and move in silence until she can articulate her thoughts well enough for people to understand her.
This hit the nail right on the head! I’m not a fan of Cardi like that but she has a couple of songs and features that I like. I’ve been wondering why she’s been so heavily on all of these social media apps, always responding to everything, talking about her marriage etc! Like she talks way too much when she could be using that same energy towards her work instead.
Zach this was such a sweet, honest and uplifting video. I really hope that this video crosses Cardi’s radar and she sees that she can win in her own way. She may not be a writer, but as you stated her energy, performance and visuals are epic. I wanna see her get in her fun, vulnerable and big d energy space for 2024.

Let’s just call it what it is. She was a manufactured artist created by Atlantic to be the antithesis to Nicki. It worked temporarily cause a variety of factors but primarily because the industry tried to blackball her so they created a hate train while propping up Cardi, an internet stripper/reality star. What they finally are realizing after so many years later is that they can’t touch her. She is the blueprint and her impact is global and can’t be touched. Cardi is also an expensive artist to keep and with every failed single, bongos, Atlantic is loosing money. Also the trap rap era that Cardi blended so well into is gone so what would an evolved Cardi sound be sonically?! Can Atlantic afford to gamble on her again? Can she be as competitive as Nicki while outperforming her debut album on the charts? My opinion? A resounding no.

The MV cost $2 million, she did hella promo for it on radio & social media, a UA-cam live video, and released hella versions of the song with physical CDs available for purchase. She thought she had another WAP on her hands but she didn’t. She’s been desperately trying to find a hit for a while and her last top 10 hit was last year on Glorilla’s song, of which Glorilla’s career is in the dumpster now. Next year she should just release solo singles unless she bags a big collab like w/ Doja, TSwift or Bey for example.

I think the reason why these rappers blow up with their early albums is because it is most relatable…. Not just rappers but music artists in general. They talk about their struggles and how they feel about life because the transition from average person to stardom is so interesting / captivating. When they blow up it takes a turn that normal people can’t relate to and we as supporters wonder why we are underwhelmed/critical and, obsessed with what artist put out music and when.
I know what i'm about to say it's gonna be controversial, but I think Cardi it's not a full album rapper, maybe an EP, or big singles, but she herself said it when dropping IOP that it was going to take a lot of time to her dropping an album because she said it all in IOP. Can you do a series on female rappers? There are so many talented female rappers out that I wish people would take time out to give words of encouragement to. It's been 6 years and 1 album. I'm not begging Cardi for new music anymore. There are female rappers that are even better that we let fade into oblivion. Cardi is an internet personality that raps. She gets more news and press on her antics as opposed to her music and though I don't want the new rap girls to feel like they have to rely on that too, it seems like that is what works. I'm asking a lot of media personalities to look into something like that and shine a spotlight on these female rappers that work 5 times as hard but only have a small percentage of fans.
