I got this recently and it is great but there is a learning curve to this system. 1) it has to be applied in extremely thin layers, even the base coat, and especially dark and white based shades, otherwise it doesn’t cure properly. You can’t apply it like a regular nail polish. There is a learning curve unless you worked with gel polish systems like shellac. If you buy this system buy their diluent. If you have any problems with curing add a few drops and applying it thinly enough will be much easier. I had this problem with one colour- dark pansy and diluting it soled the issue . 2) their top coat is not very shiny and easily scratches, they have product to apply as a top coat after a few days, I haven’t tried that yet but it works perfectly fine with regular top coat applied on top of their top coat as well. It doesn’t affect removal so you don’t need to use acetone first to remove any additional top coat.
3) with weekly changes on hands I don’t have any yellowing but if I leave it on more than 2 weeks on my toes there is some yellowing so I wouldn’t recommend keeping it on for long time.
I hope this helped anyone who bought the system and has issues or is considering investing into it.

Omg YES I agree that bottle shape stinks for doing your own nails, I have some J.Hannah polishes and their bottle is even narrower and while I love the colors I have I dread using them. Also the wand feels unnecessarily long, like there's a sweet spot between a nail polish brush and feeling like you're using a long paint brush.

I just ordered myself a kit too and I can’t wait! The ease of removal is what sold me. I have the worst headache with removing gels it takes 20-30 minutes to remove them sometimes more and even then the product seems to STICK to my nails no matter how long I soak in acetone. Even professionals struggle to remove product from my nails so I am looking forward to this!

The scrubbies can be bought from any pharmacy (although it might be a bit expensive) and I also found them online, in large sheets for cosmetic purposes
Sometimes I use Zoya + remover and it works equally as well as Manucurist remover. (I have the Manucurist remover, in fact I’m on my 3rd bottle, and it is less drying, leaving a beautiful smell but expensive if your changing your nails regularly). I cut up gauze from the pharmacy to create scrubbies.
Hi Anna, Essie Gel Couture does have a pure black, it's called "Like It Loud". Here in Greece it's readily available. I've tried it at the salon and it had an excellent formula.

Very nice, again. Thank you. Do you think you guys can talk "eyes" sometime? Like... I've worn glasses since the 2nd grade and I honestly didn't know what a terrible job I was doing painting my nails until I got a magnifying circle lamp about 15 years ago and it changed everything for me. It's great seeing how you work and you verbalizing how and why you do things, but it's a totally different matter when it's a real finger, polish and SIZE (and not in HD!) Anyway, just a suggestion for possible future topics on some things we sort-of take for granted sometimes. Cheers and thanks for all you do and teach. 🤗🤗😘😘 to you both for being so cool.
A woman I worked with at my spa used these goggle things that have a light on them. At first I thought she looked like a total nerd until I asked her if I could look through them. I bought a pair as soon as I got home and IDGAF how goofy I look. My polishing and just about all detail work I do now has improved 100%. Try the goggles - you will probably never look back!!!
Those pads can be found at pharmacies or even dollar stores in America.
Have just purchased Green Flash system, waiting for delivery. I noticed you didn't/don't need to file 'break' the surface of the polish before adding the soaked removal pad. Is this correct, saving more time? Could watch your videos daily 👌
those textured squares look like gauze squares, which are available on Amazon or likely pharmacies or drug stores.
"Cotton and corn" is written in reference to the ingredient nitrocellulose. Cellulose is a glucose polymer and the main structural component of plants. So I think their nitrocellulose is refined from the mentioned plants. Hopefully from the waste, such as corn leaves and stalks, so that no food is wasted.
They forgot to mention nitric acid but that doesn’t sound so good. They try to make it sound so natural and healthy like they are going to the cotton field and picking cotton for their polish.
Nitrocellulose is a main ingredient of a gun powder too.
Here is what the process looks like
“In the commercial manufacture of nitrocellulose, wood pulp is the primary source of cellulose. Cellulose sheet and nitrating acids are fed into a reacting vessel, where nitration proceeds until the acids have been centrifuged from the nitrated product.”

It might be interesting to know who their supplier is. France has a large cellulose production in the south west of the country and they use maritime pine for it. So probably it could be from this. From an ecological perspective, this is not a big difference, but it does not sound as glamorous to the clients :D
I must say anyway that I like their products better than a lot of others because I find them the best compromise between gentle and long lasting. @@TheSalonLife

How would you describe the condition of nails post Green Flash versus Dazzle Dry? I'm noticing white spots on your client's nails. My nails were HORRIBLE and I started using DD and the improvement is remarkable. One of my nails would split done the middle for 25 yrs and I thought that's how it grew but now using DD for a 4 months the split is gone, like magic! I'm almost afraid to use anything other than DD but I have Green Flash system, along with some other polish brands that are 'healthier' ( Deborah Lippmann, Londontown Lakur...) Thanks Anna!

PS. I don't recommend any UV cured products unless you are professional to be honest. It's quite gentle but it's not "safer or healthier" and neither are other brands really.
I work in the dental field. You can order the scrubbies through a dental source. You don’t have to be a dentist to order. Not sure what’s in your area for dental supplies.
I have, in the past, gotten those white dry marks on my toes when I've left my pedicure on for 3 weeks. What I've done is leave my toes without polish for 3 days and constantly apply oil and cuticle creams. By day 3 the white marks are virtually gone. It is dehydration by the looks of it.
It's a surface damage that causes these white spots. After taking product off the nail plate receives oil (from the stuff you mentioned) and these white spots get filled up with water and oil again making them less visible. If you wipe the nails with acetone you will see it again to a degree.

Yes, regular polish wear can also cause it. As you mentioned, especially on toes. Nail polish is semi occlusive meaning that it actually raises moisture level in the nail. It's not dehydrating. When you leave it on for longer, like 3-4 weeks on the toes, it should be less dehydrating because you are removing it less often with acetone or polish remover.
But the opposite happens. The longer people wear polish on their toes the more they are prone to this kind of damage.
Also if it was dehydration, washing your hands/feet with water would fix it right away. But that's not the case.
Often that surface is slightly rough and bumpy until it grows out. Even though the white spots are gone.
I think it's a combination of things causing this. Nitrocellulose is one thing, maybe the nail expanding and contracting under a stiff coating? No idea but surely I don't see this kind of damage on anyone who doesn't wear nail polish.

No, it's a different remover that is made for this product. The product itself is different and more like polish, very thin so that's why it removes so differently.

I was thinking of an easier way you could take out 10 of those little pads soak them in the remover and then that way you'll have them already soaked when you're going to put them on thank you always for showing us manicures.
The remover has solvents so with this presoaking way, you risk having the product evaporate way more than if you were to soak one at a time

Hi Anna, after having a reaction to Mylee products, I switched to Manucurist and love them - especially the removal process! However, I’m going through some hormonal changes and my nails are softer than usual: I wonder if you’ve had experience of infilling this product, rather than removing each time?
Hello there :) Why would you ever infill product like this? It soaks off in 1 minute! Acetone does not do damage to the nails. Acetone does not makes the nails softer either.
Buffing the nails does and the actual impact of the coating of the nails does. Manucurist does contain nitrocellulose so it might yellow the nails eventually and contribute to surface damage.
People blame the removers but the removers only SHOW the damage. They don't cause it. Correlation does not mean causation.
PS. When did you have the reaction to Mylee? Maybe your nails are still damaged and that's why they are soft?
@@TheSalonLife I have always had soft nails, which is why I went over to gel nails (originally salon done with BioSculpture base gel many years ago). Along with the strength element, it had the added bonus of disguising the ingrained dirt from my life with horses!
It was my own fault that I reacted with Mylee as I let some gel cure on my skin which heightened my sensitivity, then trying their polygel just pushed it over the edge. Apart from the softness, my nails are the healthiest they've been as I've followed your suggestion of using an oil bath with jojoba oil once a week, after a manicure.
The only reason I was interested in whether they could be infilled was purely a strength 'thing' and yes, the removal process is delightfully simple and easy - and smells divine too.
