After covering Mollog in the Troggoths video I was hoping Zarbag was gonna come up in this one. Granted I don't know if he got any extra lore in the battletome.
I’m gonna be perfectly honest. When comes down to choosing your leader for this army I honestly think that loonboss on foot is probably the best choice. You get a -1 penalty to hit him at all times, and his weapon is better than those of the other options. Give him the “live to fight another day” warlord trait, so after he fights he can retreat 2d6 inches. Overall loonboss on foot is the best choice as you get more with less points. He’s only 70 points which makes him at least 30 points cheaper than any other loonboss option. He does have a bad save and low wounds, but that’s why you give him the after mentioned warlord trait. Have him fight first, then he runs away. It’s worked very well so far at my LGS
In old lore they were snotlings, and they had no relation to greenskins. But as AoS came out they have been refered to as grots so we don't have any lore reason for it.
2+Tough I’d argue Grots are slightly more humane, considering how in the old world, Skarsnik was genuinely upset and traumatized when his pet Squig Gobbla was killed and left the battlefield a broken and depressed man. Meanwhile Thanquol doesn’t even flinch when Boneripper #999 gets gutted like a fish; he just pops another warpstone and go buys a new one.
Hey man, love the videos! I'm a 20+ year fan of 40k, but I've recently wanted to find out more about AoS since I never played or got invested into Warhammer Fantasy. Your vids are top notch, well done! 👍 One thing I'd love to hear you talk about, if you haven't already in a vid I missed, is something that's been driving me nuts: What, if anything, is the crossover between the Chaos Gods in AoS and 40k? Are we talking alternative dimensions? Timelines? Or are the two stories actually connected in some way? I feel like there's a lot of crazy cool stuff that could come from all that. Like, could Sigmar be The Emperor of Mankind (Beloved By All) in another reality? What are your thoughts?
The reason why the Boggleye and Shroomancer are not considered full wizards is because they only know the one spell. If you look at the warscrolls, they can’t learn anything else, or cast Arcane Bolt/Mystic Shield. They are like those weak wizards in fiction that only know one spell/trick, but it’s really good.
the shroomancer's model is great, he looks like he's having a real bad trip
right?! there's so much character in that range, its unreal :)
I got to admit, I always assumed that the shroommancer was just a guy that was tripping balls and the flying mushroom was an hallucination.
That is an equally satisfactory backstory lol
The thing is, the shroomanncer eats magic mushrooms and his hallucinations comes to life.

stop breaking my immersion by explaining why you're doing things lol! no really though, great video as always :D
Did you not mean too say "fungamentally"
You're right, and writing out more puns wouldnt take up "mushroom" at all in my scripts ;)

Thats a really solid choice. Certainly a big win for this army is how cheap their heroes can be!
I notice on some of the Ogre models that Grots are in them also. What is the relationship between Ogres and Grots are they allies? Servants? Food?
are you sure they are grots? they could be snotlings.
They are Grots. The rules say so.
In old lore they were snotlings, and they had no relation to greenskins.

Knoblars u mean
a great insight to the lore, i have always wanted a army of moonclan grots ,so with my christmas bonus i had to buy all the new kits
Awesome King we got!
Why are the Gloomspite Gits so Grimdark? Like Chaos used to be number one but that Alysum is just none none none none none none
How would you describe the difference between the Grot and Skaven psyche?
Good question and a tough one because there are a lot of similarities.Let me think on how best to articulate that one

Thanks for this
Loonboss is my favorite model here, sculpt and lore wise hes got it all baby. Also that moonhelm is SICK.
Agreed!!!
Question: why did you do the Trogboss yesterday and not really mention him today? Because to answer your question, he is my favorite. :D
Well I like to dig a hole in my back garden and pretend I'm a CAAAAARROTT
Mushroom*

They pretty much trash canned the whole connectivity thing with AOS, it appears just to be an entirely new story ungrounded in fantasy.
Thank you for joining us!! I'll try and put something together about the chaos gods!
How bout Zarbag?
I like Fungoid Cave-Shaman, a speaker of the will of the Bad Moon, where Skragrott is begging for the Bad Moon to speak to him LoL
A lot ov va shrooms in dis vid ar actually real shrooms
So Skragrott is literally just one of the goblins from Troll 2, but instead of feeding them something green he just bonks them on the head three times
At 17:08 you mention him being BA as a character, what does that mean? Love the vids by the way!
bad ass
@@lonegoat81 cheers!
It's got to be skragrott for me I love how sneaky and missed up his character is and I really like the sun guy as well.
I like skragrott's character most but i love the gobbapalooza model with the skull and red sun mask called the scaremonger
Skarsnik > any other gobbo , we all know it's true

I love the Fungiod cave shaman. I run one with my ogors.
Yea man, what a stellar model!
I like the lore but still waiting to see what they do with the slaves to darkness
Same ;)
Really not a fan of what they did to the gobbos.
This whole series makes me afraid for the skavens.
In what way?
As a skaven player I've been hoping for ages that they give the option to recombine the rats
