I work at CVS and literally told a girl tonight, to watch every video she can find from Brad Mondo before using the 6 packets of bleach she was buying 😆🤣😂 she came in with her hair completely hidden with a hoodie, when she came to the counter with alllllll that bleach, I already knew things had gone terribly wrong 😬😬🤣😆

I do my sister's hair every few months. It actually comes out great. Honestly she always want to try fancy new things and some how thinks I can make them happen.
I'd spend almost 100+$ at a salon and I can spend 50$-75$ bleaching and coloring my own
nah, not always. i spend like $20-30 to do my hair and the color lasts long enough that i only need to do it 2-3x a year. that's less than $100 for a whole year. one salon trip would cost more than that and i'd have to go back in a month or two cause they insist on using color that fades in like 5 washes

I bleached my hair 3 times in 15-minute intervals with 40 volume and foil from brown natural color. Your videos kept me safe and from ruining it. I also cut layers from your tutorial, thank you for saving my broke grad student self. The last time I bleached I looked like a cheetah.

Brad should do an experiment bleaching with and without coconut oil, like what he did with Olaplex
The one with coconut oil, wouldn’t not lighten enough, since the bleach has to eat away the coconut oil and then the hair
Coconut oil actually dries out hair because it coats the hair and causes build up. I learned that years ago in cosmetology school.

Emily IRL Avocado oil is very hydrating for hair and doesn’t cause build up.
Brad doesnt need to do that, researcher already have and they found that coconut oil does help protect the hair.
Brad, you could do a video to test out this hair "myths", like using coconut oil before bleaching. Or foil versus plastic bag, etc... Just an idea. It would be fun

I have some Color Oops tips, I’ve used it many times to remove months of black box dye. First of all, order it from Target because it’s only $9 there.
- wash your hair with a strong clarifying shampoo, do not use conditioner or serum and let it dry
- put towels in the dryer
- blast your hair with the blow dryer
- apply the Color Oops and lay it as flat as you can on your head so that your ends stay warm too, don’t twist it to put it in a bun or anything, keep it flat
- put a bag or plastic shower cap on your hair
- once again blast with the blow dryer to warm it up
- put a towel straight out of the dryer on your head
- keep changing the towel out with another hot one once it’s cool to the touch
- use the clarifying shampoo to wash it out and then let the water run over your hair for like 20 minutes
- use a protein deep conditioner (I swear by Nexus Keraphix, SheaMoisture Manila Honey Hydrate + Repair protein treatment, Hask Keratin Deep Smoothing conditioner)
- DO NOT re-color your hair for at least 2 weeks, I know the box says you can but your hair is going to re-oxidize if you do
- repeat this process until you don’t see any changes and THEN start bleaching
I didn’t do any of that but just used the product as directed, and it worked for me. 🤷♀️

Generally your hair needs to be platinum for grey to take properly
I did this to ease my transition into my natural greying hair. It's a process. Your hair has to be at a level 10 to pick up the toner or colour

@@norito1222 Well, you do, because you need the underlying pigments in the hair gone before the grey colour so it will process properly.
You can't throw grey over a level 7 or 8 and expect it to come out correct, there will be too many yellow and orange pigments left behind that will muddy up the grey or stop it from taking at all. You have to bleach up, especially if you want your colour to last, and if you want a light grey or a silver since grey has mostly blue and green tones. You'd need at least an extremely toned level 9 for even a steel grey to come out looking alright.

I bleach my own hair all the time. My hair is purple so I have to bleach the roots. I am excited I just got my purple Xmondo color and wave tech yesterday!! Can't wait to try it
I gave my sister a blonde ombre when I was 15 (I'm 27 now), and it looked great. I just wasn't an idiot about it: I did a strand test to make sure I could get the ombre looking like a gradient (not blocky), I made sure every strand had bleach on it, I bought enough bleach in advance, I put it on the ends first because I wanted them the blondest, I checked it frequently, etc.
To be fair if I had done her roots I might have messed it up, and it's always easier to bleach someone else's hair than your own. Also her hair was already ashy light brown so it was much easier than if her hair had been black.
Bleaching isn’t hard...at all. It’s better to not have a full lift and go back to it a few weeks later than do a really big lift and regret it.
Just curious why the second girl even bleached her roots if she was going to dye them black anyways...... seems like extra damage that could have been avoided :( lol

I’m pretty sure that is what they do in salons anyway. They bleach the roots and then add a slightly lighter colour than their natural hair so it gives it more of a natural ombré from dark to light! It gives it more of a longer life and a nicer blend!

Well I have never ever left a hairsalon happy, even with paying over €250... Everytime I did it myself, years ago, it was cheaper and I got the result I wanted. Oh, I just went to a hairsalon last week to dye my coloured blonde hair, to a light natural brown with a blonde ombre... Left the salon brown with a very red undertone. They last girl's hair really confuses me, She went from black to orange to yellow back to black and grey then to blonde...
She tried to do a shadow root but when she went in the shower to rinse the die at her roots out it dripped down and died the ends of her hair. She used products to get it back to a shadow root leaving the ends blonde.
It looked actually better when she had braids. That colour she had then. Afterwards it was yellow again with dark roots
It was green to begin with. She clearly covered blonde with black and no red filler.

Hahaha Im dying my hair gray for 6,7 years and I love it. Whenever I decide to try something else I always go back to gray because I just feel like myself most with it and I really love how it looks. I know that Brad doesnt like it but whoever sees this if you want gray hair then go for it, do whatever makes you happy. I box dyed black when I was young and went to a salon to get a colour correction and told them I wanted blonde. They literally told me "we can't do it because it will damage too much but we can get you a shade of Auburn red to start" I was like "dude that's fine!! Any colour other than black is fine!" AND TO THIS DAY I am soooooo grateful they were honest and didn't try to do something that would have compromised the health of my hair. 🙏🏻💕

Coconut oil only helps in regards to protecting the scalp, so its crazy when people put it on the hair when they never do a root application.

Her goal was a light grey almost platinum. But it can’t out bad so she dyed it dark grey
@@dallasmales5520 After the third round of bleach she says she's going to tone it, and then she says that it wasn't dark enough for her liking so she got a darker toner. I could be wrong but it seems like she never intended to go platinum, just says at the beginning that she wants to bleach her whole head, and bleaching your head doesn't necessarily mean going platinum.
