it always amazes me when people claim to be terrified they're gonna mess up their hair and then MAKE ABSOLUTELY NO EFFORT TO MAKE SURE THEY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING.
When I decided to do a wolf cut, I swear, I could recite Brad's video, I'd watched a bunch of others on doing something similar, and had a consultation with at least three friends, all of whom were willing to watch it on a video call to tell me to stop if it went too far. I can't imagine half-watching a video and going, yeah, that's fine.
The fact that she followed your tutorial and the first cut was perfect; then she kept going and then came for you 😂 girl you did it right the first time!!!!!!
Exactly she honestly said she was going to do her OWN technique!!! His way worked and her way didn’t, probably best that he’s the hairdresser and she isn’t
It’s amazing how people will say they are following a Brad Mondo tutorial, but will immediately abandon any of the instructions and then wonder why the results are terrible.
Tbh i know how easily you get to the point of thinking, oh, i know how to do this! And going free style. I do it with recipes all the time, which is exactly why i refuse to cut my own hair haha
I love that brad has watched so many hair cutting fails that when someone just does one simple thing right, like wetting their hair, he gets super excited.
The first girl drawing the line on her bangs to see how the cut would fall after she pulls it across her face is actually genius. It's just too bad she didn't just restyle her hair to see how it would look when properly done BEFORE she starting cutting away again
When I bleached the ends of my hair (I did like dip dye) I used conditioner first to see where things would land and to practice my technique. And then I put a mark on a plastic ruler and measured each section to stay even XD
the key to making following a tutorial work, is to rewatch it WHILE youre cutting to avoid messing up. every time i cut my own curly hair, is rewatching the same tutorial while i cut it to make sure i dont mess up my layers
Watching this made me realize cutting hair is a lot like life. Sometimes you need to know when to stop and walk away… before the disasters just compound.
It always messes with my brain how people will 'follow' a tutorial, halfway through decide 'screw it, I'm going to try my own method', and then act surprised when the result is wildly different from the tutorial result 🤦♀️
I dont get it either. Like do they think oh I got this...i can do better ? I don't know it makes me so upset bc they just don't listen. No matter what...i don't understand...
I recently followed your butterfly cut hair tutorial and cut my own hair. I mostly re-watched all the videos of people failing and did the opposite. Multiple people have told me it looks like I had a professional cut my hair though! 😊❤
One of the things I love most about your reaction videos Brad Mondo is that you not only give constructive tips, but you react to the most massive hair fails so generously! Most of these are so bad, just SO BAD!!!! but you never are cruel about it, even though it would be so easy to be. You are one of the rare people on the internet who still recognize that while it is entertaining to critique and comment on other people's videos, the point is they are actual PEOPLE (with feelings and everything) and you don't need to be mean to be funny. Love you! ❤❤❤
I think if she'd just blown them out she would have seen it was all done 😅 I'm not sure what happened. But it was salvageable even so, it just would have taken a lot of styling to make it a look.
When my daughter had just turned 4, she got ahold of scissors and decided to give herself a haircut which was quite not good. I took her to the hairdresser and the young man who cut it when he finished said just a tad snidely “well we’ve progressed from a horrible haircut to a merely bad one.” And she had to do Christmas pictures but the cute little hat I had for her with that hair cut was adorable!
Brad, not gonna lie, please wear this jacket again. Keep using it. The color is AMAZING on you, and the cut fabulous. It deserves to be worn by you at least once a month. Twice in winter. If not weekly.
A super fun way to wear your hair with funked-up bangs is pulling the bangs back in little sections and securing with butterfly clips 😍 I have bangs and I do this a lot in the summer
I LOST IT when the first girl was like “ooo this is what I would look like with short hair” as if she didn’t just chop the whole front section of her hair off💀💀
I did a butterfly haircut by watching your tutorial and I love my hair ecen more now. It looks really professional and pretty. Thank you Brad Love you ♡
I had high hopes for the 3rd girl. After she did the first cut she should have stopped. It looked really good. Thanks for these what not to do videos. Your reaction cracks me up. Thanks Brad. Love your products.
youre always consistent with your constructive feedback with hints of compassion mixed with humour rolled into one funny reaction. what a gem! happy birthday!
I cut my 3c curly hair by myself after watching one of your videos about curly bang fails and looking at some comments and I think they turned out great!
So glad not only did I learn from my aunt who's a hair dresser for years watching her and have always cut my own hair as well as many other ppls but the butterfly tutorial helped beyond words! 😊❤❤
Sir I followed one of your haircut tutorial very carefully step by step and got compliments from it. Just saying there’s probably tons of people that followed your tutorials and didn’t fail, thanks Brad.

I did my curtain bangs at home under the guard of my hairdresser grandmother. It was over the course of SEVERAL YEARS of making my face framing bits shorter and shorter until one day they were bangs

The tie dye hoodie girl… that was a a wild ride 😅🤣😅 she should’ve stopped after the two front pieces but instead she decided to just hack all of her hair off?! And it was so long?! Whaaaaaatttt
I tried to cut myself a set of blunt bangs, and they wound up being MICRO bangs...see Brad's other videos on micro bangs..That is NOT what I wanted at all, lol! 🤣🤣🤣
My biggest flex is being 14 and perfectly cutting my bangs whenever they get long, from side bangs, to wispies, to a blunt bang, to curtain bangs. Bc I'm so cool😍
The amount of time and dedication it takes to grow out healthy locs is wild. I started two years ago and I still have some hair that's colored on like 4-5 inches of my ends. I don't know how they just chop right into it and know they will mess up when they do it. I'd be sobbing on the floor.
I was busy watching some older videos from Brad to cope with a rubbish Sunday and then, bam, he uploads a new video! It’s a Sunday miracle! The Hair Gods are smiling on me 🙌 It’s kismet as I was tempted to cut a fringe ( I’m from Scotland, bang means something else to us 😏), so this is a sign to leave it the hell alone. I have 2C curls, I think I’d be on Brad’s next fail video 🤦🏻♀️ Brad, please do a video on curly girls cutting their fringe/bang properly please 👏
I followed your curtain bang tutorial and literally it’s the best my hair has looked, I have been trying to get a hairdresser to cut it that way for years but every time I walk out with a 2008 emo side fringe and sure that’s a vibe but not mine, you know?
Wow. I've been cutting my own bangs for 25 years every month, without ever realizing that it was hard :D I guess I made all the bad mistakes so early I don't remember them.
Practice makes “better or good enough” hahah. Cause same. Been cutting my own bangs and hair for almost 10 years tbh. 😂 looking back at first it was rough for sure
Yes lol I cut mine about every 2-3 months. They’re kind of curly so I can go a bit longer. These videos always crack me up because it’s really not that difficult 🤣
It's the practice. I've been doing it forever also... I don't remember the first time I did it, but it was probably a disaster and improved from there lol 😅
I cant cope with people cutting their bangs and then either not styling them after and calling it a fail or blowdrying them wrong like WHYYYYY?! Its not that hard 😭 As someone who has cut her own bangs at home for the past 10 years, these videos were genuinely hard to watch 🙈
If you have thinner, wispier hair, and you want some more volume in your bangs without going really far back (and especially if you're wanting full front bangs), you can try instead of sectioning a triangle in the front, to make it rounder. I mean, round out the line from the top of the triangle to the sides of the forehead to make more of a semi-circle looking parting (just a bit, not like trying for a rectangle). I do that to make sure I have some volume over the bits where I have more baby hair to the sides of the forehead. Thought I'd put it out there because works for me, so maybe it could work for others with similar hair pattern at the front.
Hello beautiful......❤ always makes me smile no matter how sad I am. Brad you react so genuinely on people videos and gives positive advice which shows you are good person . God bless . Love from India❤
My current bangs are about cheekbone level and I’m 50/50 on if I wanna cut them again or continue letting them grow into face framing layers. Hopefully this video helps me decide 😂
I think with the second girl she needed to stop after she cut the bangs, wash and blow out her hair and she would have been happy with them. But the wet (non-styled) bangs looked disconnected from the rest of her hair so she thought the solution was to "connect" it by chopping up the rest of her hair.
6:04 Looks like a Japanese Hime (princess) cut! I’ve had variations of this cute for years now and I never get tired of it! It’s so cute! I’d say it was a wispy hime cut.
i did my own curtain bangs with CUTICLE SCISSORS.. and your wolfcut tutorial. and they came out very cute.. that was like.. 6-8 months ago? - I have a cute short short cut now.
Brad “Wet your hair!” I love to watch his face when people don’t do it! “Put the scissors down!” 😂 ❤ you Brad. Always trying to make people beautiful and then they screw it up! I never blame Brad for my failures, I blame the cat!❤😂
I was shocked when there was a shard of hair stick into my foot. It HURT. AND it was a LONG PIECE OF HAIR. Like 2 inches hanging off my foot. I still cannot cope with the fact that hair can stab you.
16:50 so I have thick hair and I did do a big section for a “curtain bang “ and then KNOW what you mean how it looks very disconnected and looks like you have 2 layers where the hella thick bangs are and whatever length your longer hair is haha
As a hairstylist that loves watching these videos, it’s so painful for me to see these sometimes😭 It almost makes me want to make tutorials showing how to cut bangs for yourself and on yourself because cutting hair on a mannequin and cutting hair on yourself is so different😅
it always amazes me when people claim to be terrified they're gonna mess up their hair and then MAKE ABSOLUTELY NO EFFORT TO MAKE SURE THEY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING.

Agreed. I think she wanted long face framing layers & didn't know the difference 😬
She was trying to connect it think, but then it just went off the rails, 😂
I agree. I think she thought curtain bangs were the same as face framing layers.
not the girlie thinking she her bob is just "big curtain bangs".... I'm dying!!
I feel like Brad gets progressively redder throughout this video, and I'm not sure if it's anger or high blood pressure, but that man needs a hug.

Ugh and it BURNS when you take it out 😩
I literally laughed out loud so hard at “are you ready to get banged!?” Haahhahahaha thank you
yessss such a great video!
also really love the red and green flags :) for visual people this will help with pinpointing what and what not to do
16:50 so I have thick hair and I did do a big section for a “curtain bang “ and then KNOW what you mean how it looks very disconnected and looks like you have 2 layers where the hella thick bangs are and whatever length your longer hair is haha
Brad hasn’t even finished the first video and I’m dying of laughter!! His reaction to this is priceless ❤❤❤
The second girl is giving Angelina, Jolie and girl interrupted and I love it
These people stress me out so badly. I cut my own hair successfully all the time with your tutorials and I’m screaming internally at these ladies. XD
As a hairstylist that loves watching these videos, it’s so painful for me to see these sometimes😭 It almost makes me want to make tutorials showing how to cut bangs for yourself and on yourself because cutting hair on a mannequin and cutting hair on yourself is so different😅
