i read that if you touch your chest you could cause unwanted shoulder tension. If your arms are longer then you should hover your chest but if you have short arms you wont get the tension on your shoulders. You could put tension on the rotator cuff
Echowhiskey It's all about where you grip the bar. You can reduce or extinguish the tension by trying other grips. Do the one which is the best for you, but for maximal muscle stretch, lowering the bar is very important. Using dumbbells for the same exercise is even more effective, because you can lower the dumbbells even under your chest line, which means more stretching and a greater range of motion. (Lowering the bar half way down is a half movement)
How do you deal with injury's (rest, stretch, rehab?)? have you ever had an injury (minor included)? what's the most amount of time you recommend taking off for breaks (injury or not)?
You take a while off, if your joints are damaged you don't stretch. At some point you can start lifting light again and then you build it up slowly. If you really got fucked up (shattered bones or dislocated joints, other nasty shit) do what the doctor says until you can lift without pain.
I still haven't figured out what makes some videos get 500 000 views, while other videos that are pretty great get only a few hundred. lol. Must be the hair.
