    I love my 2013 PRS DGT. It's as close to a masterpiece as I've come across, and it blows my Bartlett Retrospec Mk2 out of the water.

      I’m not even a PRS fan, but the DGT is a killer instrument. I had one and sold it for something else, the only guitar I’ve sold that I regretted. Quality Control at PRS is maybe the highest of any company, but I’m still just a sucker for Gibson and Fender.

    My 2015 Wood Library DGT, Korina neck, Cocobolo fretboard in Whale Blue, is about as fine a guitar as you could ever hope to play. I have a wide variety of brands and this one is .one of the very best.

    Have a 2016 core DGT with rosewood neck. The acoustic vibration and sustain is by far the best of anything I’ve ever played. It was shocking to feel and hear the sustain the first time I picked up my DGT.

    I found a good 'notes on the fretboard' hack. You just need to know EBGDAE, high to low, which is needed to tune the thing. Then 1st fret on the B string is C, then a do re mi /solfege and/or the whole/half intervals WWHWWWH on that string to get CDEFGABC, then just use octaves around the fretboard to get to any other note of the same or octave pitch. Most people already know most of it, just the 1st fret B string is C, is the start.

    I love David's playing. I wish his guitar was louder in the mix for some of his lecture.

  • @ludvanlazarz

    I can honestly say, the DGT core is a work of art! Soundwise it is the most musical, warm, yet clear yet 3D etc sounding. To me it is a perfect mix of tele, les Paul, 335 and strat all in one. The tone basis is sort of ZZ top PAF but still with a hint of tele twang and 335 depth. Bought one recently and it is the main guitar I will play from now on

    • @ludvanlazarz
      @ludvanlazarz 3 місяці тому +1

      @@ronmorey3475It is sort of chunky but not over the top, its similar to a Gibson 50s profile with hint of V, very comfortable

      @@ronmorey3475 thats great! Ive tried so many Gibsons and PRS guitars throughout the years. I genuinely feel the core DGT is the perfect combination both tonewise and feelwise. It lacks nothing and has all frequencies and does sound vintage. It is 25 inch scale however, so it has slighly more twang than the Gibson 24,75. The pickups are the best PAFs ive heard and felt, comparing to lollar, sheptone, wizz and Gibson custombuckers. This is a modern classic

  • @disco4535

    Id love to hear him on an R9. Less muddy low end/ mid bass and has that LP grit to it

    • @baystreetblues
      @baystreetblues 10 днів тому

      His amp settings on this are muddy. I have R9 Les Paul with burstbucker pickups and 2011 DGT. The DGT is far more articulate than the Les Paul. I can take it from a Telecaster bridge pickup tone to a roaring LP bridge pu tone. On the neck pickup I can do a convincing Strat tone, to nice clean jazz tone, to a creamy woman tone. You really can’t get there with the LP. Not only that but the DGT has the sweetest sounding pick ups I have ever heard. They ring like a bell. It all depends on your set up and what you are playing through but you can get just about anything you want out of the DGT.
