I owned two of these from new: a manual ZT-T and an auto 75 estate. I sold the 75 to a mate and somehow it’s still running with 230,000 miles on the clock. Wonderful car.
I always liked MG version of 75 it looked so much better. But hey, 75 is quite good looking to. Congratulations on another great and interesting buy 🤝🤝
Had one as a company car in 2002, it was incredibly comfortable and build quality was very good, did 80.000 miles without any issues..such a sad story of what could have been a bright future
I have one myself the Rover 75 V6 and the Navi system in most cars that were from the car company are useless after a certain time and expensive to Update and thats why ive a Android Radio and use a App that doesn't cost anything for the Update at all
Nice car boys, a good way for Rover to go out, and a very smooth move from Phil to pass on the responsibility to Joe. A great way to start 2023. I look forward to future videos before you sell it on again.
Excellent choice! As for what to do with it... A few repairs and maintenance items to keep it alive for some more years yet and then a road trip to the BMW museum in Munich? Tenuous link but a good excuse for a nice trip out!
A good 75 in nice condition is a lovely thing. Seems like this one is a bit down at heel, but I'm sure you can bring it back around. If so, you'll have a lovely, serene, comfortable cruiser to waft about in.
Love the Rover 75. My dad had a 2003 2.0 Diesel Auto Saloon back in the day, and it was without doubt the nicest and most comfortable family car we ever had. Certainly much better than the Audi A3 he replaced it with. Don't know what he was thinking, it was so stiff riding, it was absolutely horrible to travel in. Always missed the Rover, and have many fond memories of our travels in it. Great to see one on the channel. Fantastic choice.
Had a 2002 Connoisseur SE saloon CDT Manual in Copperleaf with Stone beige leather as a company car. Did 100k in two years without any issues. The proper Crown alloys will look much better! Sadly if it still exists it must be on a cherished transfer as it's not on DVLA. Even sadder by 2004 when it came to change Phoenix had ruined the 75 so I had to get a Laguna Initiale instead. The original 75 will always be my favourite car!
OK got it - its going to Prague and since its got a towbar you can tow a trailer back with whatever tiny automobile you can find over there on it. What could go wrong?
Good choice! I have a 2002 ZT-T here in Canada and it's a great car to own. (Except maybe for those sill trims. You do have to learn to pick your feet up when you get in!) Looking forward to seeing what you get up to with the 75.
Lovely car the 75, shame it's a diesel though. That engine is probably the worst of the lot. Unreliable, unrefined, uneconomical and lethargic. Keep a close eye on the front suspension as the weight of that lump tends to do them in. I'd also replace the under bonnet pump with an upgraded number as they are very prone to failure. Positives, Copperleaf red is the best colour for a Mk1 75. The later alloys look great and really suit it and the cream leather is lovely. Plus as a Tourer it's very practical and will make the headling job very easily.
"Ah good that'll leak." 😂🤣 "Slow, snow and E for eventually" bloody hell I'm gonna label that in mine! Why not turn it into the poshest estate camper? 👀 Or track day.
This will be unpopular here. I had a 2003 VW Passat. It was much faster than the Rover. Also more reliable, more economical, far roomier and when new about £2-3k cheaper for the base models. I'm afraid the 75 is one of many reasons Rover don't exist anymore.

Great car and loving Phil's deadpan comedy delivery. Look out, Jack Dee!

Fingers crossed!

What a beauty! Always wanted to own a 75

Nice car. I love its Jaguar-ish interior.
About time you bought a decent vehicle! Many congratulations.
Thanks 👍
Get rid of that tuning chip and replace with the RonBox. Do the EGR bypass and then the car will be sweet.
You chaps make me laugh - I do love it when you buy a new car and have a plan - see 7.50 🤣
Always good to have a plan...
Slow, snow and eventually 😂😂 love it, fantastic 🤣🤣
You can see past the flaws? You can often also see through the floors!
Baby wipes for cleaning the steering wheel - you can thank me later 😂
It's on the to-do list...
Nice one and in one of the best colour too
"Ah good that'll leak." 😂🤣

Do a roadtrip to Turkey. Betfair can make book on whether you make it.
Owned one loved it Fix that beauty up 😁😁👍👍
Looks like we have just found the new Hale and Pace 😂
I reckon that during it`s resto that you should convert it to a manual gearbox
Gorgeous car.

Lots of leaves on the trees for the New year...lol
Another good video 🚗🚙🚘👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cool car
It would be if it had a proper engine that wasn’t a diesel 😂
Great shame they switched off analogue TV
How often do people tell Phil that he looks like Alexander Armstrong?
Project Drive = fake wood.
Basically a Range Rover 😆
Basically a bmw 3 series sadly
Hilarious
Good choice give it some love and please renew the Union flag on the boot, you could load it up with humanitarian aid and do a trip to Ukraine 🤔
Ẁell you made the joke. Now you have to take it to Prague.
