I know this is a common joke. But the Maus wasn't always meant to be called that: "to be ready in 1943 was initially to receive the name Mammut ('mammoth'). This was reportedly changed to Mäuschen ('little mouse') in December 1942 and finally to Maus ('mouse') in February 1943, which became the most common name for this tank." which I heard was because of operational security but I haven't found anyone writing that.
You didn’t slope back the lower plate. That’s where they were shooting you as well. It’s no good if it’s super flat. Other then that it’s actually a pretty good rendition Edit: if I’m not mistaken it’s like a 35 degree slope
@@FranticMatty no no, it’s okay. Just letting you know what was POSSIBLY going wrong. Idk how pen you have on those Tigers so it probably didn’t matter any ways :P
I feel like saying that the Maus was used by the German military in ww2 is overstating it’s actual service record. That being, two were constructed and then almost immediately destroyed and then the soviets managed to put together the (mostly) intact turret from one destroyed Maus on the (mostly) intact hull of another destroyed Maus. They dragged back to Kublinka (I dunno how to spell the place) and it’s been sitting there ever since.
To make the cheeks, you can split it on 3 parts, then you pick the middle section to make the round cheeks, then you extend to the side and add the side angle
He should actually wait before trying to make a T28/T95 Super Heavy Tank/Gun Motor Carriage (the actual classification for the thing was never tank destroyer, but it did bounce between both SHT and GMC.) The dev has put on his road map for updates that double tracks are slated for later on in the year. So he can kind of build one now or wait until that update is launched and then build a proper one.
The fact that you forgot to un check the hand crank option while messing with the turret made me cry. Imagine turning that turret with your bear hands 😆
Hey Frantic, I would love to see you try to make your interpretation of the 'Mammoth tank' from the Command and Conquer series, or the 'Scorpion' from the Halo series of games.

So to "correct" you on the history, this wasn't necessarily fielded by the Germans during WWII simply because they only got 1.5 of them built; 2 hulls and 1 turret. So between the strained manufacturing and nearly nil resources they managed to build that many and then the factory manufacturing the things was attacked and destroyed. So it wasn't "successfully fielded" by strict definition. It was in production though when the factory was destroyed, so if that hadn't of happened, the Maus could have seen the battlefield. Hey Frantic, I would love to see you try to make your interpretation of the 'Mammoth tank' from the Command and Conquer series, or the 'Scorpion' from the Halo series of games.
Made a mammoth tank recently actually. Pretty functional, I think it tops out at around 130 tonnes and has a top speed of 40km/h so relatively usable.
The maus: I'm a gigantic beast that weight 188 tons
Frantic: then why don't we raise that number upwards to 200?

I mean, I looked up blueprints and stuff, so, maybe some of them are inaccurate too
The driver view port on the maus was in the middle of the hull
Ooo interesting :)
You should do the m4 Sherman
The tank was never actually produced it was just a prototype weapon
i remember when you tried making maus a year ago, crazy how the game changed
If the maus turret front was designed like the e100, would probably be a huge upgrade to it's survivability, imo.

@grantjarden826 It was the same 75mm that was on the early Panzer 4s

Well this is much better than old maus that you build
Agreed :)
The turret face looks a little awkward because it actually doesnt have the angled front turret edges
god damit I HAVNT EVEN WATCHED THE STURMTIGER BUILD HOW ARE YOU POSTING THIS FAST???

yee. The Maus I build was much heavier around 232 tons. Which is very heavy xD

Cool idea :)
Think you should make the bottom armor thicker
Maybe :)
I think the coaxial gun, next to the main turret gun, is a 30 mm autocannon I could be wrong though of what it was supposed to be.

Ratte: Rat but hella big
Bison: Bison but hella small
