    When you pulled over I was yelling "please don't leave that knife set there" as if you could hear me.

    Check your suspension components, too! We hit some big bumps driving through Denver and broke the right front spring! Didn't know it happened till we got the camper home and saw the wheel chocks wouldn't fit between the 2 tires on the passenger side. Thats when we found the broken spring. Because of the broken spring, the axle was so far out of alignment, the 2 front tires wore enough that they needed to be replaced, too.

      I'm sorry to hear that, at least you made home safe! Thankfully nothing else broke and we gave it a good look afterwards.

    When you mentioned sawdust from when you bought it, I could relate. We have a rear kitchen and every time we get to our destination we have sawdust on the back counter by the window.

    My family and I have driven to Alaska and back with our travel trailer the previous two summers. That stretch of road from Tok to destruction bay is the worst roads of the trip. The first summer I was in a hurry to get out of the Yukon before our 24 hour restriction ( Covid rules) in the territory was up and the frost heaves beat up my expedition pretty bad. Last summer I took that experience and didn’t try and drive any faster than 45 mph for that whole distance and it made everything much more comfortable, I managed to make that part of the drive without damaging anything. Not sure if we will be doing that drive again this year or not but it sure was worth it each time we have done it.

      It really is the worst part of the road. That is a short window for the Yukon, very happy those times are behind us! We do agree that the trip is worth it. We will keep that in mind when we make this trip again!

    When we drove it in 2022, Tok to Destruction Bay was worse than The Top of the World Highway between Dawson City and Tok.

    We just did our video on the same stretch of road.
    1. You are right! It wasn’t that bad on that stretch when we all went up
    2. I swear we hit that same pot hole and I made the exact same face. It came out of nowhere! It broke our leaf spring but we didn’t know it until we had already crossed the border 🤦‍♀️.
    3. We agree - totally worth it!!

    How was the Kluane Lake Boondocking? Looking at making the trip and wanna have space for 2 trucks w 2 large 32’ trailers and not have to pay.
    Big enough for 2 you think?
    Quiet and safe?

    • @Registered_Nomads
      @Registered_Nomads  Рік тому

      The spot we were in you could for sure fit. There were plenty of other spots as well, but they were taken when we got there. We felt safe and it was quiet. We used i-overlander app and campendium to help us find boondocking the whole way there.

    I know you are on the way back or are, put small items in plastic containers, use Velcro straps on cabinet doors. Boondocking in Canada I read is illegal on the road cutouts. Am I wrong? (Overnight)

      @Registered_Nomads  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for the tips. We never read anything about that in our research at the time, in regards to boondocking. We saw plenty of others doing the same as well.
