I really enjoy setting up all my guitars, I purchased a basic tele style guitar to learn how to do just that, I am currently learning to solder the elctronics and work on the frets.
You're right about there being no perfect guitar. And frankly, I am done supporting the big companies because the QC they're providing is straight trash in the majority of scenarios. I've sent back lots of guitars this year. Horrendous fretwork, misaligned bridges, blown-out routing, wiring issues, etc. - I can fix all that myself but based upon principle and what I pay for them- I won't finish the job that the factory was supposed to. I'd rather build it myself or buy an instrument at a cost which doesn't insult me when I find out it needs work- hence why I have no qualms about supporting Chinese guitar companies directly.
I just saw an Adam Jones art series Medusa firefly on reverb.
I like the Fesley, and would get one except for the 12 fret marker; having it say "Fesley" is way over the top. They'd likely sell more of these if they toned that down.
I just bumped into this livestream. Touching on that Firefly hypothesis (that they make Chibsons), I have my suspicions as well and they were sparked by another UA-camr's video a few weeks ago. He was showcasing a new guitar he got from Firefly that was (wait for it) a three humbucker single cut (LP style) guitar with a blue-silver burst sparkly finish and chrome back plates. Gorgeous, stunning, you get the picture. What could it be? Hmmm... it was eerily similar to the Sparkly blue Ace Frehley replicas (like the one you've shown on your channel). I took closer looks at the Firefly (was out of stock from the site at the time) and at your video and guitars on ebay, veeeeery similar. I assume Firefly is just the name of the company, the brand, but whoever makes their guitars may as well be making Chibsons, which may explain why quality is getting better! It's not unheard of, I read about a manufacturer who makes (or used to make) amps for Laney AND Monoprice.

Hey, missed the live stream, but watched it back later. I have 4 chibsons now, 2 lp's an Ibanez and a telecaster, none of them are perfect but they are so so good. One I use as my project guitar to learn on the rest I play, I love them all. Love all the content, Merry Christmas to you and your family

What was wrong with the tuners on the WYLDE audio guitar? In the first video you said you weren’t going to change them. I am anxiously awaiting delivery of my own. Do I need to be prepared to change the tuners?
Actually nothing. I just liked the ease of string change.

Crazy about you seeing firefly boxes and the story about the green floor I heard about the piano factory there while back but didn't know about them doing builds there that's awesome to hear! 😂 I have been real busy finishing the Yukon we got in June I never finished for my wife Cindy she's on my Azzzzzz bad! 😂....also darn it you got me buying another dam Chibson! 😂 I had my heart set on building a SRV hardtail Charley and I dropped that noise for today's chibby I can't resist trying a new one!... I'm talking with a great seller as we speak sending me the picks I ask for and I'm feeling comfortable with his service but I have not dropped the hammer yet but I am gonna as soon as I pick the one I want i ain't sure yet which one I can't take it there's to many! 😂 I want a 2023 model so bad after seeing all yours I haven't slept in two weeks! 😂 I'll let you know what model I'm getting I can't buy it till next Tuesday but it's gonna happen I got the ok from my wife and once again it won't be my Corvette! 😂 It might be another cherry custom or a normal standard without a headstock binding soon I'll know but I'm definitely losing sleep Hahahaha! The "weak neck", I get it. I've set up my WG Standard with a maple neck several times and after some serious dive bombing I'm fretting out and getting clinker notes, usually in the same area of the fretboard. And the frets have been leveled so that's not it.. So judging by that and the grain patterns that show on the back of the neck I'm guessing the neck is somewhat "weak" and just keeps moving. Very frustrating...
These necks are definitely not weak.

There are two differnt mounting types on Gibson/epiphones ABR1 and Nashville are the main ones howevr there are variations in both of those too

Personally I think that Chibson's are made by Firefly. I own a couple of each a couple Firefly's& and a few Gibson's. I damn near can't tell them apart except for the build quality and the fit and finish. From five feet away they look alike, with a different headstock
You said warehouse was in California
I think Firefly was invented just as a legal way to sell chibsons just get rid of the open book headstock and put firefly on it and it’s legit

I absolutly hate EVH and will never buy from them again. I made my own blue frankenstrat NO EVH markings or parts anywhere. I had it for a while and then tried to sell i on ebay and EVH contacted ebay and took my guitar down. i relisted without and "EVH" or "Eddie van Halen" or "frankenstrat" or any trademarks and copyrights just simply "blue striped guitar" and they took it down again. NEVER will buy from them again, FUCK EVH.
I don't think Firefly is making chibsons or vice versa. It's likely a guitar factory that's contracted by both the people making chibsons and Firefly. This isn't unique in the slightest. Samsung and Apple contract the Same factories owned by Foxconn to manufacture their devices
