    issue is it was a 'bought as seen' deal... i never buy a bought as seen vehicle... there are too many dodgy mechanics out there...
    i was sat at the airport a few months ago waiting for nephews plane to land and i watched a mechanic pull up to a BMW minivan where a woman was stood waiting and she couldnt open the door on the BMW minivan he was telling her he will have to break the glass to get in and fix the issue... i dont usually listen to others conversations but you know you do sometimes.
    my wife has the same make of vehicle at home, i listened and he was going through prices and i knew he was scamming her once i heard he couldnt open it without breaking the window, i walked up and i asked if he tried the key inside the key fob... he said it didnt have one, i then told the woman he doesnt know what he is doing send him away and ill fix it free...
    he got angry and he even tried to charge her for coming out, i told him to leave or i call the cops, he left.. i then asked the woman for the key fob and showed her how to open it to get the key by pressing the button on the side of the fob... simple to do and opened the door.. told her buy a manual for that car read up on the issue before calling anyone...

    • @justxaine.3544
      @justxaine.3544 3 місяці тому

      From what I understand and I could very well be wrong but the tensioners go bad, the chains get stretched, and if both of those happen the engine will get put out of timing and it's basically a paperweight unless you own/you know someone that owns a machine shop.

    • @SammyKurts-ku2ht

      It happens from lack of maintenance it’s all starts from timing chain slack once it’s lose it starts to slap the side of the case and the guides wear really weird and bad .. once it gets really lose it starts to jump teeth and break stuff.. always good to get new guides and tensioners on the timing chain every 120-150k miles

    • @TourettesMobileMechanic
      @TourettesMobileMechanic 3 місяці тому +1

      Lack of maintenance as the most problematic issue here. It all blows down to people taking care of their vehicles. We have interference motors now…. Once it jumps time it bends the valves…. He said in the video you might as well get a new motor.

Made the 2 hour drive, test drove and got lost in nostalgia, didnt notice some things. Drove it back, then noticed oil leaking from valve cover, ac not as cold as it should be and other things. I should have been more thorough but i usually am more trusting when someone gives me their word. But sometimes that means nothing these days. They will approve anyone who walks in the door with a huge interest rate and sell them a steaming pile of shit that will blow up in a couple days and they did nothing but dump a bottle of armor all and tire shine on everything to dress it up. I purposely leave these types of dealers cars when they are brought to my shop outside overnight in the hopes that someone will break the windows out and trash the car so no one has to go through buying it.
