Good morning Mike and Melissa, HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY to you all also. Thanks for remembering those of us who have served and those who have gave their all for this great country! This was a great way to start my day watching you folks. Really looks great around there and getting busy in the woods. Stay safe around there, tell all the crew hello and HABADAY. Fred.
Another great video Mike and Melissa! Thank God for all those that serve and protect us all. Special prayers for all those that we have lost! God bless them and their families!!
Loved the kids , they were awesome , always love the tunes , Man you can lay them down !!!! So awesome to watch you pick a spot and hit it time and time again !!!! Thanks to all that serve , where ever you are !!! STAY SAFE !!!!! Love the outtro also !!! BIG Hello to Hunter !!!
Another great video Mike! I don't know how you find the time buddy....we can all tell the joy that working in the woods provides! God Bless buddy #stoneyridgefarmer
God bless 🇺🇸 America. Thank a Veteran. Thanks to all military, active and retired and those that have gone on. Land of the free/ home of the brave. Thanks Morgan's and have a day. Temperatures are on the rise.
I share your appreciation for red oak. I’ve been using it in my offset smoker recently. Last night I had the best baby back ribs in my 64 years. Be safe out there.
Mike & Melissa - Thanks for the trip to the "100 acre wood" again. Love seeing all of the really green growth. It's amazing what rain, and a little sunshine will do to bring the woods to life. Nice job felling the tree Mike. You make everything look so easy. The good Lord has certainly blessed you with the talents you have in the use of your hands. Glad you got your "home workout" in Melissa. Blessings to your both, and to your family. Hi to Hunter.
Good morning Morgan's. Looks like it's about time to enjoy another fantastic video, while drinkin' BRCC coffee with Mike N' Melissa, the daughters & Hunter, on this overcast morning.
Great root/rake grapple for picking up a log or feeding the mill. As some have commented, it isn't the best for carrying a load of logs. Just have to get used to what you have. Loading fire wood seems to be a good family exercise program. Thanks and take care all.
SOUTHERN INDIANA HERE: Thanks Melissa for acknowledging all the sacrifices our Military men and women make so that we can enjoy our freedoms. So many people can not comprehend what our soldiers experience on the battle field. The mental stress has got to be unbelievable not to mention the things they see. I can not express enough what these people have done for us and it's time we give them AND their families everything they need to insure a good quality of life.
Mike - I know you love to use your own trees for construction but with all the toys you now have maybe a huge steel building might be in order. That would allow true protection form all weather and give you a neat & dry place to work on them . Yea - you could use your trees but that would take years to complete. Just a thought.
Thanks for sharing this with us God continue to bless you and your family Thank God we have our freedom And I thank God for those that serves this country for us
Greetings from central Mo. I’m curious about ticks there as well. Our last two winters in the Ozarks have been mild and ticks are bad. Our best solution is treating our clothes with permethrin and spraying ourselves with DEET too. Happy Memorial Day to all, and hats off for those fallen in service. Most of us know a few.
Ive said it before and i will say it again. God bless the Morgans and God bless the USA. Always remember that freedom isnt free. Thanks to all who served.
Hi Melissa I’m a wood turner and the purple wood is called purple heart. It comes out of the rain forests in South America. Im the guy that made you a bowl out of cherry. Happy Memorial Day.
Cute opener. As I watched Melissa, AKA Chipper Chick, loading up the side by side, I noticed she still had a smile on. Mike, you are still going to get razzed for not helping Melissa with the hard work. Hahaha. Really like what you two have been doing the last few weeks. Keep up the good work.
Your winch on the tractor is a great safety device when cutting alone. After cutting the wedge, put a bit of tension on the cable in the direction you want the tree to fall. Then it can't come back at you. Even better is to train an assistant to pull the tree down with the winch as you cut.
Hi.In Canada the purple wood is called Juniper. The most common is Yew wood.It turns purple when cut it is also known as Iron wood, they used to use it too make spokes for the old wagons. It is so dence and heavy it will not float. The natives used it for may things. The bark is used to this day for treating some kinds of cancer.I think what you have is from the Yew tree.
"That is important stuff." Loved it. I reference that kind of "important stuff" when I am driving through the back roads of the Uwharries and Sandhills of NC. Fishing here, hunting there, great camping area, all the important stuff!
Thank you Mike and Mellisa keep up the hard and a tremendous job . Tell Hunter and all of your kids I said hi and stay safe . Yes I am working on the opening and closing. From our fire company. Talk to you all soon.
Chipper chik! Mike iß making alot of work for you. Like to also say thank you for all that served and gave so much. Cherish our freedom while we have it 🇱🇷👍
WELL DONE . ENJOYED SLOW MOTION . TO SEE THE TREE TURN A LITTLE . CLOSE COUNTS IN HORSE SHOES HANDGRANEDS AND DANCING . GOOD LUCK EVA . SHE WILL DO WELL . WE SURE OWE A LOT TO OUR VETERANS . WE HAVE BEEN PUTTING ON A SHOW AT THE C.A HOSPITAL FOR 40 YEARS . CHIN SAW CROSS SAW CUTTING . OLD CARS TRACTORS ECT . IF THERE IS A V.A. HOSPITAL IN YOUR ARE GO VISIT THEM WITH YOUR FAMILY THEY WOULD LOVE IT . GOD BLESS
Happy Memorial Day to Mike and Chipper-Chick. ANOTHER great video. Nice to see the craftsman you are.. And the cutting boards ... you can tell he prides himself as a craftsman, also. Blessings. ( Hey RC )..
A big hello to the Morgan family. I am kind of shocked though ... No plug from Melissa for her channel today !!! All the best to everyone, and a really big hello to Hunter.
Thanks again for your content. It's very relaxing and a pleasure to watch. I may not know what I'm talking about because I'm not sure about some of the turns and angles of your property. Have you ever considered bringing the dump trailer down into your property and filling it up?
OH HENRY! Good job son!!!! Yeah you weren't just picking up while she was working out, you were adjusting and moving the cameras. What a film maker you are sir!
The purple wood is purple heart I just began to make cutting boards just recently. There are people who also make them of pallet wood which sometimes are made of walnut and other wood such as ashe and poplar.
hi mike Morgan I keep watching and listening to you comments while working all was pleasing to watch and for me learning Morgan trade but As i looked on the video #997 with the trees so close one wondering if you use ropes to pull and guide it should go where guided you tell why and the difficulty of rope guide
Love my Kubota B series but it's just not big enough. Not sure I need an M series but I sure could use an L series. In time I will step it up. After being without a TV (cable or satellite service) Thanks for the great videos.
You both are such fun to watch while I sit on my couch sore from all the work we did yesterday. I am thankful for what we have and that Includes the Morgans and off the leash with Melissa. Keep it up you 2 and Melissa you made even more sore watching You put those logs in the Ranger.. lol you both Stay Safe and maybe someday I will be lucky enough to meet you both. And get your autograph Happy Memorial Day to you and the Whole Morgan Clan
Mike watching you work in the brush made me wonder if you have issues with ticks and if so what measures do you take to deal with them. Here in southeast Virginia we have them bad. I tried a spray last year at least in tree line closer to the house to create a barrier and it seems to work but on occasion still find them on me. It makes me limit my time working in the brush.
I was posted to Guyana, SA and a hard word called "Purple Heart" is very prevalent. "Peltogyne, commonly known as purpleheart." Hope this will be helpful
That oak was about the size of wood we get on our jobs. Get a saw log or 2 and the rest is firewood. We use our kubota skidsteer to log the jobs that are to small for the bigger loggers. Keeps our firewood operation going haha
Hi Mike, just wonder if you could give a demo of the backhoe on the little tractor when you get a chance. Interested to see it set up and the seat position etc. Thanks from Ireland 🇮🇪
What’s with 23 thumbs down?! Great video Mike and Melissa! Two examples in this one video how good things happen to good people...first the location where the tree fell saving your camera from possible damage and the second being, “What Tree” with the side x side! Keep smiling, Never forget what it costs to be free🇺🇸
Being out in the woods is where I love. I have always referred to those woods as God's sanctuary because he built it. I feel sad when a tree comes down but it is no longer living but serves a purpose even after its death. No I am not a tree hugger because I heat my house with wood. Back when I cut my own trees I tried to cut and make it so no one would tell I even cut a tree except for the stump. Thank you for remembering those that gave it all for our country. Let us all keep the light of liberty burning so their sacrifice was not in vain.
Hello Morgans, I'm Luc from Brussels Belgium. I really love all your video's. It's good to see you guys enjoying living and working outdoors. And let me say, you are a hardworking family Keep on sharing. Happy Memorial Day.
RC says to tell Magic Welcome to Outdoors with the Morgans. Good to see more of my Kind!!! Tell Hunter I said Hi!!!

Happy Memorial day. Thanks to all the veterans. Take care of the Veterans we still have and remember the lost. God bless

Red oak is my favorite firewood too Mike, it splits easy, dries quick, and burns good and hot... Hi Hunter!!
Nice job dropping that tree.
It’s good to see a video where the chips are flying and not smoke and dust. A sharp saw is our friend.
SOUTHERN INDIANA HERE: Thanks Melissa for acknowledging all the sacrifices our Military men and women make so that we can enjoy our freedoms. A beautiful Memorial Day here in central Alabama!! Loving it and Loving outdoors with you guys.. I believe the wood is Purple Heart...

Seriously Mike, does Melissa always have that beautiful smile on her face? She is awesome...
Now that's how you do an intro! Adorable!
Thank you Mike and Mellisa keep up the hard and a tremendous job . Tell Hunter and all of your kids I said hi and stay safe . Yes I am working on the opening and closing. From our fire company. Talk to you all soon.

🇺🇸Happy Memorial Day. Thanks to all that served and sacrificed to keep this land we call home free.

Such a great setup to lift the logs to a comfortable height for bucking! Great to share my morning coffee with the Morgan's.
Happy Memorial Day. Thank you veteran's for your service and sacrifice. Have a day.
Hillbilly: Today is not about us veterans. Today is for our war dead.

I was posted to Guyana, SA and a hard word called "Purple Heart" is very prevalent. "Peltogyne, commonly known as purpleheart." Hope this will be helpful
Sure looks like purpleheart. I've got a livingroom floored with it. If there is a harder more dent resistant wood I haven't seen it.
Just enjoys watching guy who doors don't notice the time keep up the good work
Mike, not sure if you've mentioned in previous videos, but how do you go about choosing the music in your videos?
That oak was about the size of wood we get on our jobs. Get a saw log or 2 and the rest is firewood. We use our kubota skidsteer to log the jobs that are to small for the bigger loggers. Keeps our firewood operation going haha
Chipper chick?! LOVE IT 👍 A term of endearment, Melissa!!!
Chipper Chick. Definitely a possibility for a t-shirt for the ladies who watch your channel and Melissa's.
I still say you should be milling the larger tree in to lumber. We just don't have that Red Oak out here in CA.
Mike, would it be easier to haul the logs to the spliter, then cut to split size. You could us the tractor to haul logs. Just saying.
Hi Mike, just wonder if you could give a demo of the backhoe on the little tractor when you get a chance. Interested to see it set up and the seat position etc. Thanks from Ireland 🇮🇪

Mike, you have talked about the response and speed of the hydraulics on the Kubota's. What do you compare them to?
That wood is probably purple heart. I have made several things with it.
Steve Kilpatrick that was my guess!
Mine as well
It is one of 23 South- and Central American trees called Peltogyne, a member of the Fabacaea family.
Looks kinda like Blood wood to me
21:08 Subscribed with that smile, as Lettermen would say she's one fantastic baby
That's important stuff, Melissa. Tell her Mike. We like to tell stories about our big bucks.
