Open your books to page 43, and write a 2 page report on what you’ve learned! You have… **turns dial** 1 hour to get me that report! Or we it will affect your grade forever! Good luck!”

The Carmen Sandiego trivia shows (both this one and World) were perfect in every way. The sets, the music, the wardrobe, the casting... everything was fine tuned to keep kid's attention while still being engaging and educational, and rewarding knowledge. Shows like these are a must for a well educated society, the base of every great civilization is the education and knowledge it imparts on their citizens, and education starts at childhood.

Man, I've been trying to track down the complete theme song ever since someone got part of it stuck in my head recently.
Thanks for posting this; I loved this show like none other. Now I just need to find some episodes…

The budget for a typical first season episode was $46,000, according to the New York Times article on the show. Look up "Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego budget" and you should find it.

PBS used to have so many fun shows for older kids- a lot of it seems to be aimed at preschoolers now

    I agree.
Lynne Thigpen will ALWAYS be Chief of the Acme Detective Agency in the world of Carmen Sandiego.
